I assume mining only begins after the whole blockchain is synced?

(still 26 days behind)

Yes, you can download a recent copy of the blockchain from OP

504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [FCN] Fantomcoin - CN based, anonymous, CPU only. Merged mining with BCN & BMR on: May 07, 2014, 08:52:12 AM
I think there was no need of another fork just for MM
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 07, 2014, 06:29:10 AM
I am either extremly unlucky or doing something wrong, been mining with around 50 for 3 days now and didnt find any block, i posted my mine.bat earlier
Quote
start /MIN bitmonerod.exe --data-dir blockchain\ --start-mining 44RkMyLBEktES1nKJuYbMRUmMQdt2nUdvinafxo3zKNaZKFJeRDDf6cNL2H4hJkRc9SsGLihoMAfEAu 8TPiDHziRUk1DfF6 --mining-threads 7

CPU usage is up, blockchain is synced but wallet refresh balance is still 0, dang -.-

If you find a block, it should say found block for difficulty : xxxxxxxxx in the daemon. Type set_log 1 in deamon for more details

Fantom coin is coming
You should sell before the dump

Why do you want people to sell? And what if Fantom is coming? lol
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero Economy on: May 06, 2014, 08:48:20 PM
In this case I agree that MRO is underpriced.

You must be kidding Grin I like concept of Monero (Cryptonote) but it has no GUI, no community, no API, etc. MRO is highly overvalued for its time.

These are the early days and anybody investing knows that Monero is the only real alternative to Bitcoin. Heck its not even an alternative, its is better than Bitcoin with privacy, aka Darkbtc
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MRO Monero trading thread and OTC xchg (bid 130 ask 175 last 175) on: May 06, 2014, 08:34:27 PM
WTS 0.0016 / 100 MRO / 0.16 BTC

This account may well be a puppet for price manipulation.

A minimum account age should be enforced for getting listed. Although this one is actually from January, with no posts. Minimum account activity, maybe?

Untill this account replies to my offer or posts something here, this is at best a manipulation attempt
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures - CPU only on: May 06, 2014, 08:23:23 PM
Guys, here is a new CryptoNote fork - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=585611 (FantomCoin) with a merged mining Bytecoin and BitMonero.

But I don't understand, Monero and BitMonero - is this one coin or different? Huh

Also there is a GUI-miner (no command line Wink):

No need to post pointless forks here
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best performing crypto of 2014? on: May 06, 2014, 05:52:30 PM
Agree with you that there are several exciting new digital currencies like Monero but every decision should taken only after scrutinizing each part of it (risk) associated with it because we have seen how fast value of some depletes. How do you see NoFiatCoin-XNF?

Link please
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best performing crypto of 2014? on: May 06, 2014, 05:47:24 PM
In your dreams. You will see it crashes hard, like every other shitcoin. Come on, so much bullshit in these threads.

Do not listen to anybody promoting like this. Take a look into the threads and ask yourself if something is special about the coin. If not they will follow the hundreds of coins that aren΄t worth anything.

Have you taken a look at the Monero thread? You wouldnt say something like this of you had
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best performing crypto of 2014? on: May 06, 2014, 05:40:35 PM
Monero is just shy of touching a dollar. Was in cents just 5 days back

Good, But it might just be occasional jump. Do you see stability with the coin and when it was introduced in the market?

It is actually matching to its real value. It was introduced on 18 april. Something really worth looking at since litecoin.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MRO Monero trading thread and OTC xchg (bid 130 ask 175 last 175) on: May 06, 2014, 03:22:40 PM
maybe we should create another topic for discussing if the exchange rate is too high or too low? Let's keep this topic clean, so smooth doens't have to read posts which are not usefull for the exchange...

Lets keep our discussions here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597878.0

518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock.com CEO interested in NXT asset exchange! on: May 04, 2014, 10:18:11 AM
Someone said the creator of NXT actually has all of this coin as the 71 individual were not real people...

Someone said the creator of Btc actually has all of this coin as the thousands individuals are not real people...

Fail argument, stupid member detected

Nutty to get involved now after the price has run up so dramatically. (I could have a 20X profit if I'd bought in when I first saw the hype in the trollbox at Poloniex). There's nothing special about this coin, doesn't even have a wallet yet from what I understand, just a limited supply and a name to link it to bitcoin without any real justification. Stick with real, innovative coins like Blackcoin, Darkcoin, Fluttercoin, even Piggycoin (a good bet with Announcements Week coming up).

Piggy Coin Cheesy
