501  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Humble Bundle on: May 31, 2012, 10:13:04 PM
Latest humble indie bundle looks awesome.. I'd like to drop 2 bitcoins on it, say 8$ USD and ~2$ for you?
I'll help you out.  How do you want to do this?  Do you want the files or just the steam key?
502  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: May 31, 2012, 09:47:58 PM
That is realistic. I've been pointing 1/2 of my power at p2pool. I get between .9 and 1.2btc per block. I was one of the top 10 miners. I should be able to get between 4 and 5 btc per day. Lately it's been about 2, 3 on a really good day.
Um... if you expect 4 to 5 and you instead get 2 to 3, that isn't a 3 times difference.  I also think that day to day luck is too variable. Look at least at the last week's luck.
503  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: May 31, 2012, 01:41:14 AM
etotheipi, can you please explain to me how is the address sweeping done?
Does it only sweep funds that are found on the address at the time of sweeping or is it possible to auto-sweep funds any time new funds arrive, a la MtGox?
If it doesn't auto-sweep, it would be a cool feature. I'm kinda tired of using the vanilla client wallet and would like to add all my addresses to an Armory wallet and have it auto-sweep the funds once they arrive.
Stop using my first wallet isn't something I can stop doing because of automatic payments I get to lots of addresses in there and having an Armory wallet that auto-swept those payments would be a peace of mind Wink
+1 for auto-sweeping funds. I want to do the exact same.

I got my issue (for real this time)!

I got my shirt! Thanks!
506  Economy / Economics / Re: Ron Paul vs. Paul Krugman on: May 30, 2012, 10:03:44 PM
So wait.  You agree with Krugman's theories of economics, but support bitcoin?  Seems to me it should be one or the other.

And why is that?
You could argue the exact opposite, if you support bitcoin now (and not just in 30 or whatever years), clearly you are in favor of inflation and printing of money.
When I think of bitcoin, I think deflationary even though it is inflationary at the beginning.  I'm thinking long term.  Are you going to abandon bitcoin once the block reward is close to 0 since it seems you prefer inflation?
507  Other / Meta / Re: New Forum Software: End the Stagnancy on: May 30, 2012, 01:19:24 AM
Well I'm still working on my bid.  Forum software with all of the requested features isn't exactly simple though.

I'll have a demo site up once my partner pushes some code.

I'm excited now

I haven't been able to get the blockchain app working since I upgraded my iPad and 4s with 5.1.1 and the absinthe JB. Is anyone else having this problem?

It's been mentioned in another thread

So now that 5.1.1 is jailbreakable untethered for the 4S, I went ahead and updated.  The app store version was working except the profile page didn't have my email or settings in it (only the wallet identifier was shown).  I uninstalled the app store version and installed the Cydia version, but it crashes immediately.  Any ideas?

The Cydia app is working fine for me, but I'm still on 5.0.1 (iPhone 4).  I was going to upgrade to 5.1.1, but I've started using the app more and I don't want to update if it's not going to work.

Wait to upgrade; the Cydia app isn't working for me either.

Thanks.  Sorry you had to be the guinea pig on this.

Any chance I can order a shirt for BTC?  I know you had some trouble with the first batch of shirts, but if thats all sorted out, I would like one.

Absolutely.  There's a list of donation levels and rewards on the Armory Donation Page.  I'll happily take into account previous donations if you think it's a little steep (in your case, I know you donated...twice?... already?)  Unfortunately, the shirts ended up being kind of expensive -- future advice:  pick a logo that doesn't require full-color to be rendered properly, that probably doubled the cost of the shirts despite being tiny little thing on the breast.   :-/
I donated when you did the drive and have sent a few coin whenever i deposit to cold storage (having the donate button built in like you do was a great idea BTW).  Another 5 BTC puts me above donating 10 total, does that sound good for a shirt?

EDIT: Went ahead and sent 5 Smiley http://blockchain.info/tx-index/6618236/10dbf7edb207a23afe654b46f0ca506022752bd99ee361d5be85256e6263ecef

Uses just under 2GB of memory here, initial load <20seconds. This is however on a dedicated server with 128GB of memory Wink

I cant really complain about that.
You got me beat for sure.  My macbook air loads it in anywhere from 60 - 90 seconds depending on how much other stuff I am doing.  It still locks up at 100% CPU for a few seconds when new blocks are found in both Mac and in a linux VM on mac.  Windows and native linux don't seem to have the problem

Got a bitcoind tor hidden service running with -discover

Seems to be running great! I'll send some transactions to/from it soon.

I was in DC recently looking at the flag flying over the capitol building, thinking that the only 51st state would be the moon or a space station. There is no way at this point  congress is going to make everyone redo their flags for puerto rico or the dominican republic or some occupied middle east country. After seeing that flag, I see a way.
So rather than replace all of our flags, we will have to replace all of our flag poles?  That looks cool as a pin, but I don't see how it would work well on a real flag pole.

My Armory branded USB key showed up in the mail today! Very cool!

Is there a way to specify the address for alt chains, viz. namecoin?

e.g.,  run_p2pool.py -a <BTC Address> --nmc-address <NMC Address>

Cheers
