521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 10, 2014, 03:25:22 AM
the public is going to want to see the guy with a shady past is out of the picture.
for the reason of investor confidence.

after Baritus's fiasco over the employee of his stealing 30 grand usd worth of DGC coins i have lost trust in that guy
and i would want to know that he is in fact truly for real out of the DGC picture so to speak.
If he is and the DGC investors are carrying on WITH OUT HIM then i wish them good luck with things.
and i would be furious (as a potential investor) to find out later that Baritus was still involved some how though..

i never had any problem with Baritus in the slightest before but some months back i lost any trust in the guy
with his morphing load of bull excuse train after the DGC theft incident.

I think he really blew it (his reputation) and had he even just said he spent the coins he would have been far better off
even if he REALLY was stolen from.. in that case even lying to say he dumped them would have made him look far better than his weak ass bs excuse.

Baritus if your reading this sorry i have nothing against you but i think you dug yourself a hole way back killing your reputation which is sad.

i'd say the DGC name is tarnished now though.. history is history.

I'm not quite sure how to respond to this.

I believe if you join us on IRC in #digitalcoin on irc.freenode.net .... you'll .... realize that .... most of what is expressed in your post is something you shouldn't worry about?

Does baritus still hold the keys to the exchange? I still have some shares there...

He Does. The Foundation has nothing to do with the exchange.

The answers you may be looking for may be able to be found here:

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,1262.0.html

Once you read that, you will know as much as we do regarding the exchange.

Where?

~BCX~

You're right; I apologize, I thought it was him. It was not.

He announced it on the DigitalCoin forums.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 09, 2014, 01:06:17 AM
Baritus announced this prior to me posting in the main DigitalCoin thread.

I thought it would be better to create a separate thread.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 09, 2014, 12:24:01 AM
These changes don't include a swap to PoS or anything do they?

No they do not.

I also invite you to ask any questions you'd like in our IRC -- irc.freenode.net #digitalcoin .

Why did baritus stop being the dev?

Because he dumped the premine and bailed; BCX can confirm, he chased him from thread to thread for awhile over it.

If the timing was closer to this occurrence, I could see the correlation. It's not. Also, it's in the past, and baritus is no longer the developer of DigitalCoin.

Instead this thread turning into 'baritus' 'baritus' 'baritus', why don't we focus a bit on DigitalCoin, ahmed, and the exciting things we have forthcoming.

If you didn't like baritus, and baritus was the reason for you not investing in DigitalCoin in the first place; let's put that aside, it's a dead issue now.

I think you will be kicking yourself if you do not add DigitalCoin to your crypto portfolio soon.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 08, 2014, 10:48:20 PM
As of this weekend, The DigitalCoin Foundation will hereafter assume the development responsibilities of DigitalCoin. Ahmedbodi, an early and reliable supporter of DigitalCoin (and great developer), is assisting with our transition and has accepted the role as developer of DigitalCoin.

The DigitalCoin Foundation will also assume the hosting and maintenance responsibilities of the DigitalCoin Github.

During this transition period, we are working on several technical upgrades to DigitalCoin to further stabilize the network and provide the reliability we've come to expect from our coin both now and into the foreseeable future. More details will be released after the initial testing phase has been completed, but they are very exciting changes!

Rest assured we will continue to improve DigitalCoin with the best intentions and the highest scrutiny.  The DigitalCoin Foundation aims for absolute transparency, so please, I invite any and all questions to be asked - and answered to the best of my (or another foundation member's) ability.

To the future of DigitalCoin - A currency for the digital age!

If you seriously think changing the generation rate is going to give the coin value, then you're delusional. You can't give value to something that's worthless to begin with, and it's worthless because you can't SPEND it.

Thank God for simple math equations which tell you exactly what's needed to increase the value of a currency.

Yes, even a crypto currency.

Here it is, free of charge [this time].

Currency Value = Transaction Volume/Velocity + 1/Supply

Look at that, it doesn't get easier than that.  And yes, you need to increase services which then increases the Transactions volume but look at the denominator where it says, supply;  AMAZING, if you decrease that number the value of the currency increases as soon as demand or tx volume increases.

Now which variable is the easiest and cheapest to control in that equation; getting everyone to use DGC or changing one line of code?  This is not a trick question.

How about doing that now (lowering the denominator - the supply) since it's free to do and will have a massive impact later on?  I know, genius idea!

So while the devs work on increasing the transaction volume (mass adoption) why not ALSO kill the inflation/supply which, if ignored, will absolutely limit any real future upside potential this coin has.

Amazing eh, doing two things at once for optimal results?  haha!

You're welcome!

Very good point. As well as many others I've seen expressed. I think what's kind of turning this whole conversation sour is the sarcasm from everyone. Lots of good points being made, but being taken the wrong way. Just a thought.

533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DGC: Challenge.....Poolerrangers vs. Mutlicoin.co on: July 14, 2014, 02:30:14 AM
Ahmed has challenged me to a contest for DigitalCoin (DGC) hashrate.

I am in the middle of creating a new DGC pool -- poolerrangers.com, and Ahmed is in the middle of creating a multi pool (multicoin.co).

We've challenged each other to a contest to see who can achieve the most blocks found in a 30 day period. From the 15th (July) - 15th (August).

This applies only to DigitalCoin (DGC), and only for the days mentioned above.

May the best....crypto...nerd.....win?

534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why does Alpha Tech have a problem changing my order? on: June 21, 2014, 06:31:43 PM
I never order vaporware or pre-order something that doesn't exist or is not going to be out within 2 weeks.
Why would you even deal with Alpha when GAW miners has better Asics, better price, easier to use, better
support, and ships when they say they will, as in right now.  See my sig., I am very happy with them.

To be honest, I decided to give it one more shot before I lost all faith in crypto companies.

I half expected this to happen.

I'm now going to make it as publicly known as possible that Alpha Tech is not a company that you should conduct any sort of commerce with.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why does Alpha Tech have a problem changing my order? on: June 21, 2014, 04:13:42 PM
I realize this part of the forum doesn't get much attention, but I'd like to see this post on the front page of it as more of a PSA than anything else.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Why does Alpha Tech have a problem changing my order? on: June 21, 2014, 04:33:58 AM
Recently asked them to change my order from two miners to one. Received the following response:

"Hello there,

I am very sorry but this is not possible as your order has already been processed.

Best Regards,

Alpha Technology Team"

Leads me to the following questions:

1) Order has been processed yet no physical product exists? This is the type of answer I expect from, say...Amazon after my order has already shipped. How can my order not be able to be changed when you're practically begging people, in your 'newsletters,' to order more from batch 1?

2) How legal is their pre-order policy in their terms of service? I realize the UK has different laws than the United States, but the way I read their pre-order policy...it basically sums up to the following: "we're going to lead you on for months and months and finally, when it comes time to pay, we still have no physical product or even a demo of a product, but you're shit out of luck"?

3) Why is it taking weeks and weeks to answer a simple email? "I'm too busy" seems to be the general response here from Alpha Tech...(as of two hours ago per the "email update" I received):

"We will be up to date on our emails within a matter of days (there will be a few exceptions so please I know nobody likes waiting but if you're not being served it just means somebody else is)."

Seriously guys? Several weeks to respond to emails?

I could literally take a vacation, come back home from vacation, sleep for 7 days straight, and still answer emails more timely than I've seen....and supposedly there's an entire team?

I'm not the only one: http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/27qfwq/alphat_are_not_responding_to_many_customer_emails/

Seems like this guy's emails were responded to....so it takes a Reddit post to get an answer to your email?

4) They have the time to update the design of their website, but not respond to customer emails?

5) I stumbled upon this reddit post in which someone visited their "office"

http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/1uveun/alpha_technologys_scam_team_akram_akram_akram_and/

Care to explain at all Alpha Tech? Do I need to contact daddy Akram and tell him what bad boys you've been? Or is he part of this whole ordeal?

Here's another:

http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/1uju18/best_explanation_by_far_that_ive_seen_on_why/

And some more people skeptical of Alpha Tech:

http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/1uju18/best_explanation_by_far_that_ive_seen_on_why/

As a final note, yes, I realize I should've taken caution when ordering from Alpha Tech. Yes, I saw the warning signs, and yes I made an impulse buy. This is absolutely terrible business practice, and I recommend that anyone considering buying into their "Batch 1" to proceed with EXTREME CAUTION.

If I were running a company and had a viable product, and was going to launch at my expected time frame, I'd take any refund requests personally and basically say "Fuck you, you're missing out, here's your full refund...good luck moron". Instead what we're seeing is...."we're too busy for our customers. Please wait some more, but it doesn't matter anyway, we'll send you a newsletter again tomorrow to try to convince you we're legit and you should complete your order instead of cancelling".

DO NOT ORDER FROM ALPHA TECH.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology is Pulling Posts On Their Site on: June 21, 2014, 01:19:00 AM
True.  But then neither is whining about it on a forum.  So I guess we're even Smiley

I'm not actually whining, but rather publicly stating my interactions so far with Alpha-Tech as a way of letting it be publicly known what sort of company we're dealing with.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology is Pulling Posts On Their Site on: June 20, 2014, 02:22:51 AM
What I mean by terrible deal, just look at the terms you agreed to:

You agreed to completely fund their entirely operation (along with the other "customers"), thus taking on 100% of the risk.  With absolutely NO say whatsoever in what they do, how they operate; you can't even SEE how they operate let along control it!  And of course no claim at all to any of their assets.  Well of course they aren't going to make decisions based on what makes you money, but what makes them money.  Sure they offered a money back of some sort, why would you trust them?  Would you buy something on here from someone you didn't know without using escrow?  Why are these guys any different, you didn't know them either.
But the best part is they were never under any obligation to actually deliver a miner anyways.  They could entirely within the legal context of the agreement, finish the miners right on time, and then keep them themselves and mine with them and there is nothing you could do except demand a refund (with them even profiting off of that, due to being able to pick the exchange rate BTC or USD whichever they preferred).  Or perhaps they could have successfully stalled you long enough to actually deliver a miner after they were done with it and it was no longer profitable.  Either way, within the terms of the agreement, they didn't have to scam you at all or break any contracts to completely rip you off.  It just amazes me that people sign these deals that are so clearly terrible and then act surprised when it doesn't work out.

I completely agree with what you're saying.....

But the "told ya so" attitude isn't going to resolve this horrible practice that seems fairly common in the BTC/Alt/etc world.

Still no word.

Have no time to keep up with their forums.

If I did post something there, it'd be removed/deleted anyway.
