521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese team released software to mine Satoshi's coin on: May 04, 2015, 12:38:52 AM
While I agree this is a long shot it does seem to show a potential issue for bitcoin in the future.  Sites like directory.io have already posted every bitcoin address and its corresponding private key.  If a computer can just search that huge number of addresses you could get satoshi's or anyone else's for that matter coins.

I do like the point about how it would be better to just mine bitcoins with the corresponding computer power.

The jokes on you. directory.io is fake. It only computes the bitcoin addresses for the private keys on the pages you look at.

In other worlds. By the time you would have finished skipping through all the pages, our sun and trillion trillion trillions of other stars would have imploded

Hmmmm... that is interesting/funny and crazy at the same time . Even if they bring a SuperComputer, they can't possibly crack it in several 100 years. And even if they do it let's say in 50 years , they will get 50 btc , 1 btc a year ? Cheesy . They can mine better with that suer computer of there's Cheesy

Not in 50 years. Not in 100 years. Not before our star expires. Not before the entropic end of the Universe.  It's a no.

Hey, now let's not discourage these people. They will make a lot of money for energy companies and that is something to celebrate

526  Economy / Services / Looking for long term free website testers needed👏😿 on: May 03, 2015, 12:47:49 PM
Anyone interested in this task?

It won't be for a minute or an hour. It'll possibly be for months, and your opinions on features would be highlighy required 😢

Sorry for the confusion. In this situation I mean; "Free" - Willing to test a bitcoin project during build-stage without financial incentives

Send a pm for my Skype if you're interested ✌️

I would like to take part in this one, but can you please let everyone know that in what kind of project it is???
It would be better if you clarify everything in regards to the job you want us to be done...

Hey gkv9 the project composes of two different types of decentralised exchanges which provides services to connect retailers, consumers, developers & businesses together. This time around I need your helps to test the public  and computer updated, up-to-date geolocation (retailer/user) mapping features of Bitcoin/NyeFe/ATM accepting outlets
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese team released software to mine Satoshi's coin on: May 03, 2015, 12:10:37 PM
Why don't you collect the top 100 or 1000 rich address and then find their private key? there is no difference.
Which means any one try to find a private key with your method is really stupid  Cheesy

The total entropy of your method would be (2^256)x100 or (2^256)x1000 which is

1.1579209e+79 Or 1.1579209e+80 possible trials

You're probably looking for the chain.com and blockchain.info wallet API both are great at managing wallets, balance, sending and receiving bitcoins

Folks, please allow me to give you some nice advice about how the legal system works in the US.

Bitcoin is a very unique wild new 'thing' with very interesting unusual properties and attributes.  These unusual properties and attributes can enable certain activity which is ILLEGAL!!

Now, since it will take more than 10 years to put into place effective legislation which operates to control bad activity which may be brought about by clever folks who embrace these unusual properties and attributes, the cops need to put some pressure on those who chose to do this stuff.  But the cops don't have good specific laws yet.  However, just because these laws don't yet exist, doesn't mean the cops will let people run wild.  Nope.  Instead they will use the old laws, and with those laws they will put the hammer down early and often.  Not only that, they will put the hammer down hard.

In this way, they will encourage others to use Bitcoin gently and politely until the effective laws can be devised.

Folks, just because it seems like Bitcoin will enable you to do crazy illegal shit without getting caught - you are going to get caught.  And when you do, the penalty is going to be VERY severe.  Don't freaking do illegal shit with Bitcoin!!!

The government doesn't hate Bitcoin.  They aren't trying to wreck it.  They just won't tolerate ANY bullshit from squirmy little nerds who think Silk Road is just clever software.  Silk Road was a massive drug peddling operation.  Your soft characterization of it won't operate to soften the jail time you are about to get.

Here's the good news: There are 1000s of cool LEGAL things to do with Bitcoin.  Go build a few of those.

Well, you did you dumbass - so I guess you have your answer.

Point taken.

532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The biggest problem holding back Bitcoin on: April 30, 2015, 08:14:41 AM
*Another day in London looking for a bank which accepts Bitcoin modelled businesses*

This is ultimately the biggest problem holding back Bitcoin development. To think that with the progress which has already been made, we still had to rely on banks to manage our fiat currency. My proposal is for all Bitcoin startups to rightfully follow the AML/KYC regulations, but to cut-out the middle man, in this situation it would be relying on banks to not mute our accounts. This will possible if we as a community established trusted exchanges/gateways on the ripple protocol, who will take BTC or even fiat, and issued USD/GBP [..]

533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Foundation Executive Director Bruce Fenton Outlines Plans for... on: April 30, 2015, 07:03:36 AM
So they're not doing nothing (financially) to support Bitcoins development, since they've already taken an advantage of that? Now with their tarnished reputation we want to trust them, to represent Bitcoin for everyone and every business? tbh I'd rather have Bitcoin companies like coinbase take on this role, instead of the FB financially milking everyone. Funding Bitcoin has been decentralised for the better, and it's time representing Bitcoin on a global scale also gets decentralised. We can't put our hopes on one orangisation.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the hell should we care about women in bitcoin space? on: April 30, 2015, 06:50:15 AM
Well this should pretty much answer the question for the lack of females in Bitcoin and everything science, which was also aired on BBC

Are girls / women interested in Bitcoin ?
Your opinion ?
Girls are always less tech interested than guys, so simple conlusion they are not interested in Bitcoin.

*Correction*

"they are not interested in Bitcoin" at this moment in time, because of its minute adoption and marketshare in retail, which will surely change as the currency matures Andes made available in more services.

Lol what did you expect? NSA has to try different methods to convince people to abandon Bitcoin Grin I mean it's shameful that you can exploit and break into everything but your own creation, SHA256, has defeated you?
