541  Economy / Services / Wondering which miner to buy? difficulty-roi-moving lead times-asic-fpga on: May 29, 2013, 05:58:32 PM
Looking to buy a miner, but even after spending many hours find it hard to know what is a good deal?  There are a lot of variables!  I found that I had to put all the information together, here, or I it felt like a big guess.
I keep the chart updated daily in the Mining > Hardware > Custom Hardware section.

Personally I haven't found much to recommend purchasing at the moment.  I'm very excited to see which companies start producing working miners, and how the difficulty plays out with them.

In the meantime, I would like to offer my service.  Send a small tip (.2 to .01) and an email (check profile please) The email should contain the cost of miner(s), GH expected and when you expect to receive if you order ASAP.

Thanks for the service.  Is portfolio down right now?  I suppose I should read 25 pages before I start asking questions.. usually do but I can't right now Smiley

I haven't seen any issues with it personally.  What issues are you seeing?

Cheers.

Was my fault.

Did have a question though.  In My Value Analysis, total paid column does that include btctc fees?

It seems illogical to throw away half my points in an interaction just to punish someone.  If the community decides that a person is on the ignore list for punishment I would go along with that.  As long as it remains a 1 on 1 exchange, though...

Oh I see..  You did say that the goal is ... well I'm not sure if you want me to just lay it all out there for everyone or not Smiley

Ahh of course, thanks for the tip.

Do 98% of worlds scientists think we're about to be destroyed by asteroids?  News to me.

Why not go after the people who actually perpetrated the crime?  What is the proper response, if not pushing back where you can?  The other option presented was to go to the root of the problem.  Money in politics?  I'm not sure what everyone thinks the base cause is, but yes... for once, stop them from buying they way out of justice.  I think a lot of the angst you see here is from the inequity of law.  You steal from a bank you go to jail, bank steals from you maybe some fines are paid.

I'm not sure here, will it be more profitable to ignore the killer, or trade kills?
549  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin - powered by greed? on: May 29, 2013, 02:25:36 AM
What would motivate a person to act except perceived benefit?

From a biological perspective it's not so much the individual, but the genetic structures promoting themselves.

The ultimate greed is harmony.

And yet if we don't act on climate change it's all for naught.

If you look at the post count per month the last few have seen incredible growth.. as it has been mentioned the influx of new people will cause changes.
This cycle will keep happening until BTC is mainstream.  Still have a kind of early adopter community effect going at the moment, but that is slowly wearing thin as people with less ideological interest join.

It looks like he may be talking about searching?  If so quite often I'm looking for something the reason I can't find it is because I'm unsure about what I should be searching for, so I'll need to do 2 or more searches in quick succession to find the proper term.  This can be annoying, usually I'll go do something else between searches and it takes quite a while to actually get it done.

I've been typing everyone in, I don't think there is a button for it yet.

555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Should I sell my Jalapeno? Seems to be working fine, but... on: May 28, 2013, 08:35:13 PM
At 8% difficulty I calculate 3224$ in 6 months with current BTC price.
At 18% difficulty it looks like 2070$ in 6 month

If you can get ROI by the end of the year you should be fine...
BTC/GH in one year
557  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: reduce laptop price by mining on: May 28, 2013, 08:19:38 PM
If you put a couple cards in the desktop and buy it right away you will still get about 3 BTC in a year.  Maybe a little less depending on how much you pay for power.  So if you could get it to 2 GH and btc is 200 in a year that would be $1200 off.

I just posted this chart about return/GH with moving time frame.

Lose.

Loose is the opposite of tight, or restrictive.
Obviously he was saying that the person was being too "loose" with their BTC Smiley

I'm claiming they are a scam. but that's only because I have balls.
Do those come with scam detectors now?
560  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Low Watt Miners -GH/BTC -ROI with difficulty [Updated May 27] on: May 28, 2013, 03:04:05 PM
They definitely are connected.  Price of BTC seems to have a lot more to do with difficulty than vice versa.  The higher it goes, more people mine.
On the other side there may be a little correlation to having more miners, spreading the BTC around and having more stability.

Even if we have high difficulty and you're coming out with a negative ROI doesn't mean your machine won't pay for itself.  Just that it's possible that it may have been a better investment to buy BTC.
