541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 7-WINS IN ROW Challenge by Bitcoinprofit , Watch me in the great run 8) on: July 24, 2016, 05:22:19 AM
Are you going to lose bets in other threads in the middle of this run like last time?4

PS. the odds of 7 in a row with 1.4 odds is 9.5% hardly an impossible task or something to celebrate.

Present your evidence of "last time" with me losing "1 BTC" then maybe I can give feedback... otherwise comment on another thread...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1446080.0

Here is your last failure of a "challenge"

Somewhere in that thread you claimed to be in the middle of a 10 game winning streak, during that time you also made this post

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1534593.msg15443788#msg15443788

claiming you lost 1 btc stupidly, blindly following a claim on this forum of a 100% winning game.

Now, back to this disaster of a thread.

Did Sale's hissy fit throw your whole parlay into push-ville, or did it push it back to a 1 game parlay that you lost by incorrectly picking the diamondbacks?

For my own amusement, I will track your bets using the online tout industry standard of betting 1 unit (let's just call it a bitcoin for shits and giggles) for odds 2.0 or higher, and enough to win 1 btc for less than 2.0 odds

0-1, -1 BTC

Maybe this is a dumb question, but how will we know if you choose not to post a losing bet?  It seems to me that you could win 4 in a row, then loose one, but don't say anything about it, and then win 3 more and claim that all 7 were "in a row" even though there was a loss in the middle.  I'm not accusing you of doing this, I just don't understand how we would know if you did do this.

You just have to hope you catch him whining about a loss in another thread like he did last time.

This is pretty much pointless. 7 in a row is completely meaningless. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The way to judge betting is how much money you make, not what your record is.

The fact that this person never keeps track of how much money they have won and continually posts new "challenges" based solely on record and noting to do with money should tell everyone what they need to know.

It's a strange coincidence that after most sells on the internal exchange someone else needs to buy the exact amount to get the price back up to where it was before someone needed actual real money.

I know that losing isn't the goal, I'm just wondering if there is a method to track better than last time when you lost a 1 btc bet in the middle of your winning streak.

I saw this in Suchmoon's sig and had to view it, but 2300 pages? Damn. Can't believe this thread is still getting activity today.

We gotta accept it guys, I took an 18 month break from Crypto because of losing on this and a few others. I don't even bother with cloud mining now, lol.

Genesis couldn't even give me sensible answers, I kept questioning until they stopped responding. They never did explain to me why my account claims I have hashrate but I never get a payout. lol. Whatever. They're all scams. Like most altcoins are.

I hope this becomes a class action. I wouldn't mind getting my money back. Pretty sure I have my wallet backed up and some old transaction records, but I've long accepted this money to be gone. Sure, it sucks, but like they always say.

Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

Just saying "never invest more than you can afford to lose" doesn't make you less of an idiot when you fall for an obvious scam like this.

I'm glad your learning since it seems like you are not bothering with cloud mining, but take this as a lesson as to what to look for in teh future.

This thread should live on to show people what to look for and how to tell if you are getting scammed.

Does whatever excuse he fed you somehow make it so he isn't someone stupid enough to believe garza or scummy enough to spew his bullshit?

I'm having trouble coming up with a scenario that doesn't fit into one of those 2 groups, so whatever the excuse is, he isn't to be trusted/worked with in the future.

PS: How is XPY giveaway in this thread going on, where proof that pixelpowered received his xpy?

I've communicated with SuchMoon via telepathic linkcoin  Grin
XPY is a pathetic coin, much like ION. I've allowed SuchMoon to skip getting our collective hands dirty with such coins at this stage  Smiley
!Being right is its own reward!
I'll be fine with a plaque or certificate from SuchMoon designating me as the winner of said contest  Cheesy (maybe one of those rocket mugs will do but it better be painted purple!)

I think we have ~4 hours to go until midnight UTC. And no, you can't forfeit the prize, how else do you think I'm gonna get rid of that shit?  Grin

Anyway, unless something extraordinary happens in the next 4 hours, please post your XPY address or at least a BTC address (in which case I will perform a ceremonial dump on Bittrex and send you the proceeds).

Congrats to o0o0 and owlcatz for being the first losers Wink. You were so close, maybe next time.

I was more shocked by you owning XPY than by Ionomy not making true on the deadline.

PS; last time I checked game was ready, but probably waiting for the competition to end... \o/

Holding a finished game and delaying the great moneymaking opportunity that it's sure to be until the end of this competition is the type of genius business move that only a certified Genius at Work could come up with, and i expect nothing less from these captains of industry.

I didn't know that bitmain had btc.com now.  Poor Homero.

http://themerkle.com/blocktrail-acquired-by-bitmain-to-bolster-btc-com-service/

Don't feel bad for Homero, he managed to scam Bitcoinist before giving up the domain:

http://bitcoinist.net/press-release-btc-com/

After that, Bitcoinist named Garza's blogging partner-in-crime, Scott Fargo, their Editor-in-Chief~!   Grin

Looking through the leaked emails and data. Garza lied to a lot of people and those he couldn't convince, he threatened.
After talking Scott Fargo myself, he was not only lied to, but things he didn't feel comfortable even publishing were forced by Garza.
Your welcome to your opinion or perspective of this. There will be evidence that shows up in court that shows the type of situation(s) that transpired with Scott Fargo and several other actors with this drama.
Additionally there are also moderators of Hashtalk that were blamed or thought to be with Garza. Some were and a lot of them said 'fuck off' to Garza. I suggest people read the moderators chat logs that was in the leaked emails package if your curious.

Most of the people that sided with Garza ended up with Adam/XPY foundation. Then what was left, went onto ION.

How could garza force a "journalist" to publish anything?

He was a shill for a scam company, he's a piece of shit along with the rest of them.

Cloud mining, as usual a problem for many people

Only those who lack the common sense or math to realize how stupid it is.

People with functioning brains get a great comedy ROI by laughing at people that lose all their money.
551  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 20, 2016, 01:19:40 PM
If i spend $425 on a miner and its not profitable is who i bought it off a scammer or am i dickhead?

Depends on lots of factors.

did they lie to get you to make that purchase?

Did they actually mine coins or did they just move coins around and tell you they were mining?

Weird how these guys with bitcoin printing machines are so desperate to get bitcoins from ohter people.
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: interesting articles about betting on: July 16, 2016, 08:22:37 PM
I would seriously question anything a sportsbook tells you about how to get better at beting on sports since they make their money by you losing bets and/or making bad bets.

This article about how the "best" online site to buy picks is useless and a great way to lose money is a good read before you spend money for the "tips" from disphits on this forum.

I must have missed something, but people on the slack are complaining about missed payouts in some sort of ion cloud mining situation.

When did they start doing that? How can they be stupid enough to fall for that again?

The payouts they are missing are from cloud mining contracts launched through XPY.io in conjunction with some cloud mining firm or another a while ago. At the time they launched I remember there being a sense of euphoria on the talkxpy forum, similar to when they launched the store which they appeared to believe would bring mass interest in XPY.io.

It didn't.

So they integrated all of that into the ionomy site as if it was all together?

They really actually think the reason they lost money is 100% because Garza is a scumbag, they STILL don't realize that we KNEW he was going to screw them because he was promising impossible things. And now apparently they walked hand in hand into another trap set by that evil tommy from Sweden.

Just proving my original point, that may be safe to mention again, that this is a terrible idea because the people running it are too stupid to be successful. There is no way people that fell for Garza's lies and then walked into another cloud mining "scam" can do anything to make a profit for users in crypto currency.

556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing poker is a gambling activity? on: July 15, 2016, 10:58:10 PM
For me it nothing more than gambling, I play poker to make profit but it is very nice way to have fun online, some people say it is skill based game on only few players can make very good profit with very low risk factor, but I am pretty sure playing poker is just another form of gambling.

thinking it needs to be one or the other. It is a skill based form of gambling.

It takes skill to know when to bet, fold, raise, etc. the gambling part is that the results are still determined based on the turn of a card.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing poker is a gambling activity? on: July 14, 2016, 01:35:21 PM
To people who say it's gambling....
Oh ok so do we have professional slot and dice tournaments ?
Why do you think that is ? Poker have professional players and it's a sport and on TV and sanctioned and everything. Are slots sanctioned ? Are slots on TV ? Would you pay to watch someone play slots ? No, but you pay to watch poker. If poker were gambling there would be no professionals.

So if you think poker is like gambling then go play against professionals , since its gambling and luck it won't matter who you play against.

Omg some peoples logic outstounds me !  Huh Tongue

What does being professional have to do with it?

There are professional poker players, professional sports bettors, professional horse bettors, etc. They are all still gambling.

noun
1.
the activity or practice of playing at a game of chance for money or other stakes.
2.
the act or practice of risking the loss of something important by taking a chance or acting recklessly:

How does poker not fall into that definition? If you find a poker player that never puts money into the pot when they have a chance of losing, you can say they aren't gambling. But since poker is designed to make that impossible, they are gambling.

If being able to do something makes something not gambling, nothing is gambling because casino owners make all of their money by winning bets. if playing poker isn't gambling, neither is playing blackjack as the house, and that certainly doesn't make sense.
558  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 14, 2016, 01:19:14 AM
hi i was thinking of buying 2.5 TH/S on genesis mining and i saw that your contract got removed and stuff. BUt i also saw one more thing you bought 1Th/S for 419$ and now i am getting 2.5TH/S for 425$.
Second i checked the fees as i will have 2500GH/S and fees is 0.0004 per GH/s so the daily fees i will be getting is
2500*0.0004=1$
i checked on https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator for earning amount per day and it was 2$
So i will be earning 1$ per day and roi in 425 days. SO isn't that profitable.
Also in the coming the years bitcoin price will increase so it will be even more profitable. You are calling this a scam because the amount of power you purchased is costly. And of course because of halving you lost everthing but now halving will be after 4 years so isn't it profitable. I don't think genesis mining isn't profitable now. If you think can you give me some reason for not to invest bitcoins in it.

Missed the other part of your post, but it goes to the same point. If you think this is a good idea because the price is going to go up, isn't just buying $425 worth of bitcoin today a MUCH better idea?

i think you got a point so if the price goes up won't the profit from mining also increase???

You are doing the wrong math.

Will they give you back more or less than  0.64407602 BTC?

That is the only relevant question. You can turn your $425 into that many BTC right now at an exchange. No matter what the price of bitcoin is in 425 days or whatever, i they give you back less than that many BTC, you made a bad choice because you would be better off with 0.64407602 BTC.

If the miner is going to generate more than 0.64407602 BTC, why would they rent it to you for that price? Wouldn't it make more sense to just plug the miner in and collect the 0.64407602 BTC over the next 425 days? Why would they cap their earnings from their magical money making machine at 0.64407602 BTC if it can do more?

ok lets say you are right then can you tell me place where i can invest bitcoins and get some return.

I don't know any, but that doesn't make making a bad investment a good idea.

For something to be a good investment on this board it needs to be a better "investment" then holding your coins. I haven't found one yet, I haven't thought I've found one yet, and I also haven't lost any money on one yet.

hahaha. all cloud mining site seems to be running man. i think they just wait to bitcoing halving before running. clever scammer. they are all seems very legit last year, posting their video of mining rig.. and looks whats happen now. i think theres no trusted cloud mining.

Videos are pointless. anyone can record some computers. The whole point of bitcoin is that the blockchain tells everything, if you believe anything about bitcoin without seeing it on the blockchain you are a fool
