5421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: There are more withdrawals than deposits at Coinbase! on: June 30, 2018, 10:30:10 AM
Well that's obvious, ofcourse there's little demand or the price wouldn't of dumped 70% lol.
The 70% of cash was not because of lack of demand. It was due to new investors who go it and wanted to cash out all their profit due to the bitcoin being a "bubble" rumor.  They had weak hands and got scared that the price might crash anytime soon. As soon as some investors started selling, other saw the price fall a bit which also triggered them to sell all they have. This does mean that the demand has reduced. We may say that the demand has got back to equilibrium.
5422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you use cryptocurrency cards? on: June 29, 2018, 08:28:40 PM
Guys, what's your view on cryptocurrency cards (like credit cards, I mean)? Is it convenient or useless? If someone has an experience of using them, would be glad if you share!
I don't think you can get a credit card with bitcoin or any crypto currency. But debit cards do exist. Do keep in mind that debit card and credit cards are two different things. Debit cards are more like prepaid cards. I did use a bitcoin debit card before from advcash. Wasn't that bad. But most of the cards have been taken down since VISA started to cut down ties with companies that issued debit cards to users without any regulations.
5423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much damaged bitcoin has brought you? on: June 29, 2018, 08:25:39 PM
I had a small scale investment on bitcoin and i invested on it when the market price is 30% higher. I never thought that market is going to fall down which results to the loss of some of my money if i will sell my bitcoin holdings now. Seeing the market price i consider it as a damage which is 30%. Well if i may ask you do you feel any damage right now? I wanna know who are those people who are investing prior to the market price fall down?
Well you knew the risks and then you invested. Actually your investment was placed at the wrong time. But no one knows when the market will fall, so you can't blame yourself. Instead take advantage of this fall and start investing more when the price is less, since the price will always tend to go up in the long run.
I haven't actually suffered any loss since i keep on holding when i see the price starting to fall. Keep in mind that when the price falls and if you keep on holding you aren't losing anything. You will still be holding the same amount of btc.
5424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Ripple change their symbol? on: June 29, 2018, 08:22:35 PM
Why do people keep confusing XRP and ripple? It is XRP that has changed/got a new logo not RIPPLE.  Ripple is just a network of crypto currency and that network has its own premined coin called XRP.
Its been almost more than a week since they changed their logo. You have been asleep for a while.. Time to wake up.
5425  Economy / Exchanges / Re: South Africa set to Launch fully-functional Bitcoin ATM on: June 29, 2018, 08:12:04 PM
South Africa is set to launch the first fully functional bitcoin ATM in the nation. Way back in 2014, the country had launched a similar ATM. But the ATM wasn't fully operational and had to be shut down. Read on to know more!

Source : https://coinfrenzy.io/south-africa-bitcoin-atm/
Great to see countries like south africa taking steps to help people get used to crypto currencies. I hope they came up with solutions to the flaws which were found from the atm installed back in 2014. Its only a matter of time when the merchants will start accepting bitcoin as a form of payment without any issues.
South Africa has total 4 Bitcoin ATM machine. I have an information.
Johannesburg 1 ATM Nelspruit 1 ATM Pretoria 2 ATM Is it true?
Did a quick google search and looks like they actually do hav 4 atms at those locations. Looks like those were the ones installed back in 2014.
5426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Panic selling. on: June 29, 2018, 07:36:37 PM
Panic selling means to dump all your investment when you see or hear about some unexpected event (which might negatively affect the crypto currency market) so that you don't lose much from your investment. Most of the time it is the FUDs that trigger people to panic sell all their investment. When significant amount of people starts to panic sell their coins, the value of the coins starts to fall which causes more people to sell their investment out of fear. The selling volume increases more than the buying volume.
5427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money on: June 29, 2018, 03:44:15 PM
Do you really think the government was able to stop most of the things you mentioned by regulating money? Were they able to reduce crime like online scams, money laundering, money counterfeiting etc by regulating fiat? All they did was create more hassle instead. The government does not like decentralized things. This is a reason why they hate crypto currency and regulating it so that they can indirectly bring power to themselves and control bitcoin.
5428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is crypto a cult? on: June 29, 2018, 02:05:46 PM
I don't how people comes up with this kind of stupid questions. Really? A cult? Not sure by "cult" whether you mean the literal meaning of cult or more like the loose meaning of cult (trend among a particular group of people). And whats weird is that people are answering to this thread and also commenting on the video link you have posted. Whats more weird is no one recognizes who he is :/. One of my favorite character of the series.
5429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is necessary for Human Resources & Development ?? on: June 29, 2018, 01:54:14 PM

In these days a famous singer Akon described about crypto. And now he want to launch their own currency. He is the first celebrity who will be owns crypto. The currency will be use in Akon Crypto City in Africa.
According to the coindesk.com

"I think that blockchain and crypto could be the savior for Africa in many ways because it brings the power back to the people, and brings the security back into the currency system, and also allows the people to utilize it in ways where they can advance themselves, and not allow government to do those things that are keeping them down."

https://www.akoin.io/

A good initiative taken by Akon, but I hope he did consider about all those drawbacks and problems he is going to be facing. First of all, just making a coin won't help their community. They will need to be educated about the technology (like how to use it, store it securely and other basic stuffs). They need to be made aware how this will help them potentially and how this financial freedom can be put to good use.
Sadly, since those countries are corrupt, the government will try to take every possible steps to ban the usage of crypto currencies. This is something they will have to fight against.
5430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good or bad idea!!!! on: June 28, 2018, 07:51:18 PM
I would say it is actually a very good idea to invest on bitcoins or other crypto currencies rather than investing on share market. Both of them have some common features when they are traded but do keep in mind that bitcoin in the long run will always have its price go up. But with it comes a lot of risks that you will have to be willing to take. Patience is also the key to success here. Share markets do have less risks but you won't be profiting as much as profits from bitcoin.
5431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoins going to rock in this year ! on: June 28, 2018, 07:48:15 PM
They do differ from bitcoin, but that does not mean that it will take over the crypto field. Most of them are just duplicate/clone of each other. Tons of shitty altcoins are filling the market. Thus, this gives a very bad image to altcoin market. Again, the price of altcoins are also driven by the price of bitcoin. If we see bitcoin skyrocketing, we also see the price of altcoin going up. Altcoin needs  to have their own totally independent value for it to take over to actually "rock this year".
5432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Practical is Bitcoin As Payment Service? on: June 28, 2018, 06:42:06 PM
i am new here and i came to ask fellow users about how practical bitcoin as payment method is? i paid for domain on namecheap via bitpay and it was okishh experience. I mean how much i can use bitcoin to pay online for shopping, services and goods?
Unfortunately bitpay becomes a bad experience for people who use third party wallets or online wallets. Their payments are made through special links which are not supported by most of the wallets.
How much you can spend using bitcoin depends on you. But you should be asking how many people out there are accepting bitcoin/cryptocurrencies as payments. The answer is actually very few. Price instability is one the reasons why they are not willing to accept crypto currencies. Just look at steam. They used to accept bitcoin and now they don't.
5433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't go to ICO!i was cheated again! on: June 27, 2018, 07:23:03 PM
Yeah, most of the ICO are actually scam. They promise a lot of thing but fails to deliver. Some don't even try to give a working demo platform. They just take peoples money and run away. Make sure next time you join an ICO, you do proper analysis and look for well know development team.
5434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: AIRDROP TOKENS on: June 26, 2018, 01:21:32 PM
I have many token in my wallet which I receive from airdrop but I was unable to sell it hope I can see any buyer here
or guidance on how I can sell them all
Thank you
You can create a new thread at currency exchange section and sell your tokens. Don't forget to use an escrow and be prepared to meet some scammers who will show enough interest to buy your tokens, but just to scam you. Or if you don't feel safe here, then wait for an exchange to add your token to their exchange list. But do keep in mind that even exchanges are not safe at all.
5435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price Fixing. on: June 26, 2018, 12:44:23 PM
So you are blaming the early investors for the price fall? That is really a funny thing to say. Its because of those early adopters, bitcoin is here. The price rise was not because of  "all new investors" getting involved into bitcoin. It was because of the sudden hype that was created. People realized it and started to cash out their profit and then a correction phase took place which is the result of the current price.
5436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacked wallet on: June 26, 2018, 05:55:25 AM
Nowadays people complain about their account being hacked
We need experts here to give us some tips on how a wallet can be secured from being hacked
Your submissions will be welcome
Cheers!
You don't need experts. You just need to be cautious and act smart. Try not be stupid while handling your wallet. If you are using a desktop wallet, make sure you computer is clean. Always keep your wallets encrypted so that even if the hacker gets hold of your .dat file, he won't be able to use it. If you are holding huge amount of coins, keep them in offline and cold storage wallet.
5437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin difficult to understand? on: June 23, 2018, 02:44:27 PM
If you look at it as Currency, it is difficult for an average person to understand it because it is different.
Bitcoin, being a different kind of a digital currency, it breaks down conventional thinking in many aspects. No central regulatory body. The concept of mining. The open-ledger (blockchain), the way miners are rewarded, how transporting value is determined by its packet size and not value, the hash rate, the concept of limited supply. The 100 Million pennies in a Bitcoin, etc.
Its difficult enough for people in the money space to thoroughly understand Bitcoin (we all say we understand it, but do we really?).
For a common person, its an overkill. Its like trying to explain the concept of TCP/IP, Networking, Routing, the Internet for someone who wants to use email.  Overkill.
Most of the things you mentioned is actually an in dept understanding of the technology which most of the people who want to use bitcoin as a form of currency or investment does not need to know (though gaining knowledge about the technology won't hurt them). All they need to know is the basic, that is how to store their coins, how to keep it secured and how the transactions are made using a wallet. Those are just quite simple things which isn't hard to understand.
5438  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I wish I dump all the BTC in late DEC 2017 on: June 23, 2018, 08:16:43 AM
And you would have been saying "I wish I didn't dump and kept hold of my investment in late december 2017" if the  price went more higher again, wouldn't you? You though the price might go more higher for which you kept on risking. To be honest, if you want to make profit, then you will have to be lucky too about holding and selling. Its already too late and won't help you at all if you regret. Regretting will just hamper your future investment strategies.
5439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Up and Down Movement on: June 23, 2018, 07:56:32 AM
What pattern are you talking about? There is no pattern to learn. The prices do not follow the "same" pattern everyday. Fluctuations are totally unpredictable. Like we saw the price of bitcoin was around $6,700 last few days ago. Recently the price dipped below $6,000 USD to $5,900 USD and right now got back to $6,100 USD. All of these dipping are not following any common pattern.
5440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you research altcoins? on: June 22, 2018, 09:24:32 PM
How do you research altcoins to invest in? I'm talking about legit/long term investing in projects that have real potential to become something that creates value.

How do you find the coins you're looking for?

What are your go to tools?
You mean how do we get the list of coins to chose from and invest into? Check for ANN threads on this forum. You will see new coin announcement thread along with the old coins popping up every now and then. Or you can go to coinmarketcap and get a huge list of coins right now available. That site is also useful to get some information like marketcap, current supply and total supplies which are the key factors for determining the price of the coin.
