561  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL has Black Friday SALE!!! Be careful on: November 30, 2013, 12:00:26 AM
So I have a decent number of BTC that are now worth thousands of USD. Should I just sit on them and do nothing? What if I want to reinvest those BTC into more hardware? I can sit on that 3.25BTC forever, or I can reinvest so I can earn that back. If I make even a satochi more than the 3.25BTC over it's lifetime (which will hopefully be years), than I've come out ahead.

You should keep reinvesting untill you have 0 BTC left because every investment will leave you with less bitcoins than you had before.
Actually i think you deserve it, since it seems that you are into bitcoin for some time now and you still don't have a clue about difficulty, roi etc.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reply from Wikipedia: "Currently 'monitoring bitcoin with interest'" on: November 29, 2013, 11:52:49 PM
Obviously anyone is monitoring bitcoin lately. Wikipedia lost a great opportunity during the early early days to benefit greatly from bitcoins.
Well it is never to late and it will be good pr anyway  Tongue

How the rerouting took place? Because of a virus?
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China telecom accepts bitcoins now, the race is on! on: November 29, 2013, 11:39:58 PM
What about the FT is reporting that Alderney is formulating plans to become the first international centre for Bitcoin transactions.

Alderney's finance minister has had discussions with the Royal Mint on licensing a physical coin, and the Treasury (which oversees the Royal Mint) has invited the Alderney team for talks on how a licensing scheme would work.

That good enough for starters?

A physical coin? What is that supposed to mean? A physical bitcoin that will be issued from the royal mint? For me thats a step back not something that will push things forward. Apart from being a complete nonsense anyway.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Drop on: November 29, 2013, 11:33:24 PM
All gains are down to people believing it tied to btc. All loses are people realising it's not.

So far it seemed tied to btc. It was only during the last 4 days that things got wild
566  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What would you pay? on: November 29, 2013, 11:28:22 PM
If you want you can give me 0.7 btc and i 'll give you back 0.5 in a year.
Trust me it's a better deal than to buy that miner.  Shocked
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we think BTC still has upside or are alts the only way to go? on: November 29, 2013, 11:25:14 PM
BTC seems to have found SOME sort of stabilization until some news report sends it in (insert direction). Do we think Alts are really the way to go now? Is there a purpose in leaving something in BTC and not moving it to an alt coin? I myself put most of my profit into Worldcoins and it's upcoming payment center, Scharmbeck. What do you all think?

What do you mean stabilization? Yesterday it was at 1000$ and now it is at 1200$.   Shocked
568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin Reach $10,000 One Day? on: November 29, 2013, 11:23:51 PM
Bitcoins are limited and demand for them is continually growing due to privacy concerns, tax avoidance, media attention etc. Bitcoin being limited is what makes it deflationary unlike  fiat currencies.

Although i agree tha bitcoins nature is deflationary, you just mentioned all the wrong reasons about why bitcoin growths. Tax avoidance, privacy etc it was some of the dreams of some libertarians that initially endorsed the currency. Since then much have changed. Just see how the price has skyrocketed after the closing of SR.
569  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL has Black Friday SALE!!! Be careful on: November 29, 2013, 11:12:09 PM
25% discount.  Hefty.  I've purchased from BFL before and did eventually get ROI on my order so I can't really complain about them (apart from the many months of anguish at delay after delay).
What do you mean you made ROI? You made more bitcoins than if you have bought bitcoins instead of a miner at the time of your purchase?'
Let me guess. Not by a mile  Tongue
What miner has? Except for the first Avalons, I'd say it's pretty hard to mine a purchase price back (in BTC).

Those 90BTC Avalons are going to be running for a long time before they earn back 90BTC. How much were the first BitFury or KNC miners when paid for in BTC?

The Monarch I just paid for was 3.25BTC. Both the BTC and USD ROI are going to be depended on shipping dates, but this whole argument is pretty much a dead horse.

What do you mean the whole argument is a dead horse. It's not an argument against BFL. It's an argument against miners that are making less bitcoins that you could have bought directly.

Hey guys I'm selling virtual mining contracts:  Full disclosure there are no miners, there never will be miners, I will not purchase and run hardware. But I will provide a fancy website you can log into and a virtual pool that will show your imaginary hashrate to make you feel better.  You can OC, fuck around with fake settings, the entire hosted mining experience without the messy fucking hardware!

Now the cost for these contracts I charge 10 BTC per year, and I promise you will "mine" back 8.5BTC over the 1 year contract, if BTC price goes up you will have a tidy fiat profit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now which of you BFL customers would like to be first?

Edit, actually the time of the contract is up to the customer if they would like to extend the time from 1 year (minimum) to 2,3,5 or 10 years I will not charge a single satoshi more!  Come and get em

I think nowadays you 'll find more customers over at KnC's threads. They "donate" hundreds of bitcoins as we speak  Wink
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Drop on: November 29, 2013, 11:07:20 PM
It is not THAT risky is it? If it is extremely risky, could you give me some reasons? I'd like to know.

Because so far the only ones that i 've seen harvesting the maximum returns from bitcoins are those who do nothing but hoard.
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A perspective on just how rare it is to own 0.1 BTC: on: November 29, 2013, 11:01:24 PM
I think this post is great and realistic for luring people into bitcoin. People usually don't have thousands of dollars to put into bitcoin and naturally they are thinking that a small fraction like 0.1 makes no difference.
572  Economy / Gambling / Re: A puzzle on: November 29, 2013, 10:51:43 PM

I think he means partially expose it. I 'm not sure though. Is he going to reveal a part of the private key for every correct answer?  Lips sealed

Yep, that's it. Three digits for every correct answer.

You may want to add that to your op because it's kinda unclear unless you go through the example.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do "when" bitcoin hits 10,000......... on: November 29, 2013, 10:49:34 PM
we will not hit 10k after we have some nice crashes and alot of tears Cry  i guess  Wink

but what will we do then? wait for 20k.
Based on what? There were dumps, we recovered within the same day. Unless you see a 100+k dump it can't crash that much.
Besides, if we keep up only 5% daily growth we will hit 5k before 2014. Note: we are currently doing much more than 5%.

Yes but for how many days that trend holds? You can't do long term predictions with short term data.

575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe in cryptocurrency competition? on: November 29, 2013, 10:41:38 PM
I see a lot of people here wishing Litecoin would just go away; why? I thought libertarians believed in free markets and competition? Litecoin is really surging right now, and if it ends up overtaking Bitcoin, what's the problem? Bitcoin was the first attempt at a cryptocurrency, and it is rare for first attempts to succeed. Maybe the future belongs to Litecoin, and Bitcoin will simply be remembered as  a beta test.

Actually litecoin is crashing hard now. Lost half its value already.
Besides that bitcoin and libertarians are two things that are not even remotely connected.
I don't know about the early stages but today there are 2 types of people into bitcoin.
Speculators and speculators.

Bitcoin has crashed plenty of times, so not sure what relevance that has.

Not really a relevance. It was more of a comment for the timing of this thread. Anyway it seems that litecoin recovered already

What is that software you used?

It's not a software. It's a website bitcoinwisdom.com

Sweet, thanks! Now all I have to do is learn how to use it :-)

Are you planning on day trading or something? If so you should know that it's quite risky  Tongue
577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Willing to pay .1 bitcoins to anyone that can resolve my wallet issue on: November 29, 2013, 10:37:32 PM
The transaction id's you posted doesn't exist and 2 of the addresses are empty with no transaction at all.

Who sent you those bitcoins?
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questions (and concerns) about BTC on: November 29, 2013, 10:31:38 PM
In 2032, which I hope to be around to see, we're already 99% done with production and BTC per block is pretty close to current earned transaction fees per block. So I guess the dynamic in 2030 isn't much different than the subsequent 100 years.

In bitcoin there arent any fixed years. These are approximations based on the assumption that difficulty changes every 2 weeks. In reality difficulty changes faster so those dates will move back by a lot. 2032 = a lot sooner than 2030.

It's not a software. It's a website bitcoinwisdom.com

Thank you for this.  Is there a guide for those who are new to reading financial chart indicators, for example O , amplitude and V ?

Yes check their help page here http://bitcoinwisdom.com/help/charts
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: fall of coins with asics? on: November 29, 2013, 10:22:06 PM
Why do you think it's normal to achieve 200% per year returns with minimal effort?

Because people that are into the crypto currencies achieve much higher returns with no effort at all. Just by hoarding.
Actually to do nothing is the greatest strategy in cryptos  Embarrassed
