MtGox has halted trading totally until 2013-04-12 11;00:00 UTC. As a result, only orders routed on Bitfinex will be processed until then.

As you can see in the screenshot I added both orders are BFX orders.

Same here.  I would like to snap up a juicy order that I see on the BFX list - mine just goes to the other side too.   I tried a market order and it executed $4 higher than what is listed.

I asked this on IRC, but would like confirmation here --

If the Gox Lag is reported at 600 seconds, and the price reported is $105, does that mean that 10 minutes ago a trade happened @ $105, or are the prices in real time, and the lag refers only to how long it will take for Gox to put an order into the order books?

Thanks.

Yes, that is my impression.  The lag causes orders to be filled 10 minutes later (everybody hitting sell - market orders) at a much lower price than the seller intended - other people see that sale - they hit sell - and the price drop snow-balls  Other exchanges are not affected (at first anyway).  I wish Gox would either get it right or close its doors!

Well folks,  I went through my week of hell long ago and these are the results...

don't see mt.gox as an option on bitinstant anymore.
I'm guessing they pulled it temporarily to catch up with orders and such.

If BitInstant can't scale up as Bitcoin becomes a world class currency, then they deserve to fail.

Me personally?  I am finally doing what I should have done - I am verifying my MtGox account.  Then I can fund directly from Dwolla and won't have to pay 20 per $1000.  This is crap!

After waiting in a queue of 8900....  Got verified today  Grin

I was expecting a 24 hour wait, but...

And, the total round trip fee was -  wait for it...

$0.25

Hey, it's just my two cents - well twenty five.  There are other ways!!!

Love the appearing roller-coaster video Smiley

Got to send a donation - really love what you have done.  You should write and exchange that doesn't lag - hint hint...

This one seems to be working - I guess it only works on the 'margin trading' tab.

Thanks for trying to help out.

hehe, just tried it again - see if you see the problem (executed in under 20 seconds with a 3.00 trailing stop)

I thought I would add the decimal point - if that might be the problem... not...

568  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Rounding limit problems with borrowed funds on: April 05, 2013, 09:10:04 PM

example for 1 usd trail stop

Anyone have any luck with trailing stops?

No matter what I put in - it executes immediately.  As in the example above (but I entered 2 - to trail by 2btc) should have followed the upward swing and sold 2btc below the high.   It executed with less than a 0.75 price fluctuation.

plz can you take a look at the wiki page https://community.bitfinex.com/showwiki.php?title=Trailing-stop and make sure you make the needed steps

Thanks,

That reads pretty much the same as TradeKing, Interactive Traders, Just2Trade - for stocks...

I did that twice and the orders both executed arbitrarily withing a minute or two. I was on the "exchange" tab - not sure if that's why.  The current bid price on both was around 142.62

It just didn't work.  Executed like a market order.

Chart during that half hour...

History during same half hour...

Good morning,
Reserves are up again, can you push my BTC-e order through now?
theFed...support is looking at your issue and I am hoping to have a resolution for you sometime today.  Thanks for your patience!
Sounds good, I'm really looking forward to having this thing resolved today.
BitInstant,
It's been 6 days now and no resolution yet.  I would think my so-called "support ticket" should be at the top of the list.  Let's get this fixed today please.

Now that MtGox has proven itself NOT WORTH OF BEING AN EXCHANGE, I have moved all my money over to BTC-e - Sorry to jack this thread...

But, I would like to know the process for taking money out of Dwolla --> BTC-e.   And, it seems theFed is having difficulty too.   There is no option on the BI site for BTC-e (or any other non-gox exchange)

What are we to do?

So your asking how to use BitInstant to transfer funds from Dwolla to btc-e...correct?

Yes, that is what I am asking.  I don't see an option on the Bitintant site, and theFed seems to be having problems.

Would it be possible for Gox to heavily fine or restrict / place minimums on orders?  During the review of the timelapse and also just watching the daily charts, there are hordes of 0.01 and 0.02 buys and sells.  With the way Gox's database writes slowly, these would seem to stall the system and buy someone time.  It wouldn't really make it a true "trade whatever amount you want system" though.  But if they had minimums, it would stand to reason they'd be able to process orders a little faster.

Yeah, don't count on Gox getting any better soon.  They are not looking to improve things for us - they are a group of 18 people raking in the fees while we try to sign on.

Someone is massively profiting from these swings. Whether it's MtGox's flaky servers or DDOS or whatever. This isn't the behaviour of a grown-up currency.

I have no doubts in the sentiments of buyers right now but this kind of volatility is getting me worried.

Pretty normal for Bitcoin.

As volume increases I get the feeling Mt Gox just cannot handle this. Could be make or break for Bitcoin in the short-term.

Mtgox is not the only exchange.  I left - voice your opinion of them and pull your money like I did.

GOX HAS SPOKEN

@binarybits @dksdan can confirm we are eating ddos right now, and for some reason Prolexic didn't block it

This has been totally fucking obvious for over 8 hours. Way to communicate clearly.
Exactly, these fools have left an entire market, full of people who are worried about their money, CLUELESS for 8 hours. Disgusting communication and customer service. It's like their are scared telling the truth about the DDOS attack will scare people or something. OR perhaps they don't even give a shit about talking to their customers to reassure them and it never even crossed their minds.

I'm printing t-shirts:

GOX SUCKS COX!

Who wants one? Cheesy

Just got off the phone with the Coinlab CEO and he promised me that they and their investors are backing every Bitcoin and $$ balance any trader holds on GOX and they will be offering a buyback at $147 / Bitcoin to mend the havoc they have made on the market by having a stray dog running around in the server room earlier this morning.

LMAO - Right!  Still took all my coins out of Gox and won't touch CoinLab with a 10 foot pole either.

577  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 03, 2013, 10:11:23 PM
MTGOX is single handedly killing bitcoin prices with their absolutely terrible system

Yeah, I didn't sell any coins, JUST TOOK THEM THE FUCK OUT OF MTGOX.

They won't get a single penny of fees from me ever again - did you know they only employ 18 people?  18 millionaires, that is.  You think they care about infrastructure?
578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 03, 2013, 05:42:39 PM
Gox lag back to almost bearable levels.

I don't know, I think it's still at bullable levels.  Wink

30 minutes since 6 confirmations and still not showing up at gox
30? waiting 150 minutes since 7 confirmations.. got 21 confirmations now

Why would anyone want to be SENDING btc to Gox?!?

Just a precaution for now.  Right now I'm just making sure I have the ability to trade if need be.

Yeah, I just registered for 4 other exchanges!! This blows.

I think MtGox is slowing things down in response to DDoS attacks - there is no volume to support such lags.   They are doing a "controlled crash" - and, damn!  Just when I was getting used to buying the DDoS dips.
580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 03, 2013, 03:39:16 PM
I really hope you guys have some fiat on the exchanges. That, and that you've taken at least some of your profit.

I've got 5k USD about to move in... if this lag lets up and the price dips below 110

Me too, I have 60% cash - last buy was at 115.  Other buy orders set to execute at 111, 94, 89, and 79.   Hope it dips that far.

Last crash, I got all-in at 76.26 and still holding those coins.
