What mean the [40]??

I can answer this part. I'm not sure the number in bracket means in real world but every time you scan or use a mining laser, the number in the bracket reduces by 5 (you can see 5 at the lower right corner of the Scan or Mining Laser buttons). When the number in bracket goes to 0, the asteroid will disappear from your radar.

Correct! The formal name for that number is "Tracking" (and the unit is "virtual minutes"), and it should increase along with your tracking skill, but alas, doesn't (unimplemented feature/bug). Each time you use equipment that has cooldown value, this number decreases by that amount. Those "minutes" are "virtual" because it's not happening in real-time, unlike the actual cooldown. Hope that made sense. Sigh, we really need to write a proper manual.

@toecutter Found another bug. When you are in the blueprint tab, whenever you select an item (e.g. "medium casing" which should only appear under "component", that item will appear in *all* the tabs - circuits, components, equipment, ammo.

Believe it or not, but it's a feature, not a bug. The idea behind it is that it allows you to compare prices "between" tabs (i.e. Iron Ore vs Iron Plate). Kinda weird, I agree.

Also, I see that sometimes the marketplace terminal is accessible

  • only through outpost
  • only through THX
  • both through THX and through outpost

Is it supposed to be random like this?

The rules are pretty unclear, but the general rundown is:
- In GPD-protected sectors, only THX stations install marketplace terminals
- In unsafe sectors, outposts do not exist at all, so THXs are the stations to carry them
- In CONS-protected sectors, CONS outposts carry them, as that's their turf

Some stations might lack those terminals due to political and/or economic reasons.

Update: so I just got myself an invisible thingy from SAT-9404 on Sector Phad. Thing is, I can't seem to get rid of it. "Unable to sell/jettison: Cargo slot is empty"

Update 2: After mining a few other ores, the invisibly thingy just disappeared from my cargo, as if it's overwritten by the former.

Yeah, we're aware of that "blank ore" bug, which has been pretty elusive so far. I'll post an update as soon as we fix it. Thanks for brining the "can't jettison" issue, I'll update the post above.

It's 1, more ore. To get better minerals you'd have to get equipment that increases Mining or Prospecting skills, and no such equipment exists yet (but it will).

Some random news.

Some people have reported being thrown out of the game during some actions, but not losing session completely. This bug has been finally fixed, thank you all.

We are also receiving more and more reports regarding "blank" ore mining. We have seen that in action, so you can stop now, thank you. We're not quite sure where the bug lies yet (guessing something to do with rare random value) and we're currently investigating it. If this has happened to you, don't be alarmed too much, just jettison the thing. OR, if you wish, keep it on your ship and we'll replace it with something nicer later, once the bug is fixed keep mining and it will go away.

Also, referral collecting seems to be happening via TE and PTC sites. This is no good for us; we don't need such kind of traffic; please don't do it. This is going to be added to the rules as major (banable) offense. You've been warned! Currently working on blacklisting such sites.

Nope, there are no country-based blocks. We employ some IP-info-gathering services, and those track botnets and malicious VPNs (and known public proxies), so there must be some reason.

In any case, we whitelist on case-by-case request, so feel free to send me that PM.

Rarely, pirates carry no loot at all. This really is rare, you'll see as you hunt more.

We'll add some jobs to make hunting worth your while even when there's no loot.

Not really, no. All-caps sectors have larger suns :)

Also saw a couple of small typos: saphire, advertisment, later (should be "latter"; I think I saw this in the tutorial a while ago).

Regarding crafting multiple amount at the same time, why would it incur severe overhead? Let's say a user crafts 3 copper plate at once, aren't you just repeating the current process/algorithm 3 times? And any time if you don't have enough ingredients, you simply abort the rest of the crafting.

You'll have to trust me on this one. But we'll look into it.

what happened really when i destroy a ship?

A suggestion from me:
1. When somebody destroy a ship very fast he get better prices. It schould be a timer.
2. When people destroy ships they get only from the ship materials which we can not find on asteroids. Maybe this things we need to make something.
3. When a ship is detroyed he can not fight in the next X hours.
4. Make produce weapons cheaper (Rocket) because it is cheaper to buy it from market.



I think with this is destroyed ships more interested!

Haha just learned the hard way the consequences of getting my ship destroyed. Not as bad as I thought actually. Can't you buy the repair ray and repair yourself (your reply earlier seems to suggest only other ships can fix yours with their ray...)?

We're trying to treat repair as a precious resource which "money can't buy". As more battles commence (especially Squad vs Pirates and Squad vs Squad), the finer parts of the gameplay shall become more and more apparent. (hope that made sense, hm).

In other words, yeah, you can't repair yourself. But your friend can.

I have some suggestions for the game
  • Make the "Undock" button visible no matter which tab you're on (currently it's only visible on "Info" tab)
  • Make it possible to discard stuff from your cargo when you're docked in an outpost or TX
  • Allow us to specify amount in Crafting Area (like how it is in Cargo)
  • Add the ability to move the items between cargo units. For example, if I have 5 copper in a cargo unit (capacity 8), and 3 copper in another cargo unit (capacity 8), I hope to be able to put all 8 in a single cargo unit so I can free up the second cargo unit.

All good suggestions. Expect I'm not sure about crafting, as that would add a severe overhead, as the algorithm is tailored for single items; so that's a rather complicated change, but the rest of the ideas all make sense.

I think I found a possible bug? I took a job to deliver a message to THX-115, and the job says that it is located at Terebellum. I went to Terebellum and the station there is only THX-110. Then I clicked on the job's Terebellum and found out there is another sector called Terebellum! Is that supposed to be right?

No, absolutely not! Woah, good catch! :) In fact, I checked and there are three sectors named Terebellum. Renaming them as we speak. I've also checked for other duplicates, and there were none! So that's rare occurrence too :) Can you tell me you in-game name? (possibly via PM)

Thanks for you comments, those are indeed helpful, and everyone is welcome to share their notes too!

- Skill progress, everything I'v crafted so far seems to give 1 skill point each, for example the 40nm PCB costs 1 copper plate giving 1 skill point. While the 20nm PCB costing 8 copper plates gives 1 skill point aswell.
The plan (not currently implemented) is to make some crafting give you zero points, if it's too easy for you. So you'll have to move to more difficult items. But giving more points is also an option, we're still evaluating the best approach.

- I'v bought rocket blueprint, which seems pointless to use right now, the costs to craft (the basic rocket) are about 3-4 times higher then selling the materials. I believe the heavy rocket is a bit cheaper in comperison but still a huge loss.
Yes, crafting rockets is kinda pointless now, but we'll fix it, promise!

- It would be nice to see what ingredients a crafting recipe needs before buying it.

- Often the loading of the page takes a rather long time and somehow when that happens and I stop loading the page I can continue.
That is mostly the fault of adalso.com ad. They are the slowest. We'll simply stop serving those ads quite soon, they are not worth it.

Forum is coming along. But for the wiki, there's probably not going to be one. Players are free to start their own and document all the blueprints, etc, but we don't want that information to be part of the game (mystery factor).

Also I was wondering if there is any cap on the skill level, I hope it goes to level 99 or even higher Tongue

There's actually NO skill cap at all, but realistically, you won't get far after level 30, because it will take you forever. When/if players reach that point in the game, this will probably be adjusted with more new challenges, that are hard, but give you the needed boost.

See'ing a lot of potential in this game and can't wait to see how it will work out once the game has been advertised and more populated!

Yes, I can't wait too. The full potential, i.e. squad vs squad wars (with planet takeovers), always populated marketplace, etc has not yet been reached.

1) How do I repair hull damage? I was attacked but escaped.

2) If I want to buy a new ship, can I sell my current ship first to get more satoshi, or do I always have to have a ship in my inventory?

1) Right now, you can't. You can ask another player to do it (using the "Repair Ray") or you can wait till you explode and the NPCs will fully repair you.

2) Yup, you can't become "shipless" (because that might cause unsolvable problems, like not having enough satoshi to buy a new one  - and becoming stranded; we also don't want people to signup, sell their ships and cash out -- easy route for bots to drain the faucet). We will add an option to "trade in" a ship eventually, but it's not yet ready.

The ref. percentage for new signups has spiked to 75%, so we conclude the problem is finally resolved. We have also assigned about 100 players manually. Thanks for everyone reporting refs not working.

Note: due to the fact some refs were not assigned from the get-go, you may see a discrepancy between "Referral Paid" value and the sum of your referrals "Earned" values. This is unfortunate, but was not worth fixing; it will not happen again. The missed payments were about 100-200 satoshi per referrer, and were hopefully covered by the gifts we issued. Sorry for this hickup.

as a big Sci-Fi fan i say, very nice idea :D

But i have 2 Questions.

1. A friend uses my ref link, i dont see this in my list. Why? Only if he made a withdraw?

2. Trucker and Mauler, only 2 Equipment slots, Trucker is ok, i can change modules from the cargo slots.
But for what is the Mauler? Need jump engine and generator, but what can i do with mauler without a laser? Or Cargo slots?

Thanks for your report!

1. As far as ref.links go, there's probably a bug somewhere in our code, or maybe your friend didn't use the link correctly? We had a problem with ref.links earlier, which we think was fixed. About 50% of our players are referrals, so it looks good. We would LOVE to delve deeper into it, but I fear there's not enough information as it is.

For the reference: your referrals should appear in the list as soon as they sign up, no other conditions (like e-mail verification of first withdrawal) needed.

If you can tell me your in-game name and the name of your friend (and if he doesn't mind), we can assign him to you.

If you (or someone else) can reproduce the bug, we'll definitely not issue a ban for multi-accounts/self-ref, but give you praise instead.

2. Trucker, as it's name implies, is good for trucking large amount of cargo from one place to another.

As for Mauler, that was an oversight on our part. Should've had either 3 equipment slots, either 1 extra cargo slot. That bug is now fixed, thank you! If you're wondering what is it good for, it's a mystery :) Easily solved if you examine different equipment at the store, though ;)

Oh. Yes, Faucetbox (and Paytoshi) are services that accumulate micro-payments and then send to your wallet as soon as you reach 100%. You can change the threshold value yourself.

For future reference: wallet signing is not mandatory, it's a security measure for your own well-being (we recommend you do it). Either use something other than XAPO, either forget about it.

Thanks for your report. I'm not actually sure how do you sign a Xapo wallet and if such feature is available on xapo.com at all (last time I tried using Xapo, I didn't see any message signing features, maybe I didn't look closely enough).

Perhaps someone from here can help us out?

(BTW, wallet signing is something lots of players have problem with. I guess that feature is not most popular among bitcoin users, altho I believe it's essential to master. We're preparing some guides to ease that process, but there are many different online wallets (and programs) and we can't possibly cover them all.)

I started playing yesterday and I like everything so far, but I'v got kind of a problem.
I was still figuring out how everything works and unequiped my device which enables planet traveling by jump gates.
I whasn't sure how to re-equip it and a bit later on I was at my ship page and saw the button Jettison, not sure what it meant I decided to click it. And well I guess you can figure the rest out, it was gone  ::). Now having to buy one of those again would probably cost a fortune when just started out, woulding be if I could even buy one, since the planet i'm on doesn't seem to sell one. So simply stated, i'm stuck on this planet now. I would suggest first of all a pop up message with a confirmation warning when u Jettison (destroy, yeah I found out the hard way). And maybe add some kind of permanent beginner equipment, or some ability to re-take them when destroyed. For now i'm stuck and luckily didn't destroy my energy replenisher so I can still do stuff, but for a newbie still figuring things out this means that by "accident" he becomes unable to play the game any further.

And true, this situation shouldn't normally happen, thankfully (?) you're the first player to actually do this.

That said, an option (that can be turned on/off in settings) to warn users when they decide to jettison items might not be a bad idea.

Yeah, not a bad idea at all. I'll make sure we add something to that effect.
