561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Again Financial Giants Dive into the Crypto Space: Visa, Mastercard, and America on: August 24, 2023, 10:16:00 AM
Lol! This is pure non-sense! As long as these big corporates are planning to use their own block chain, we should not have any issue. But if they are planning to use anything from an existing cryptocurrency, that might become an issue. It will block the network and cause an surge in fees. Not really ideal.

Big corporates are good for reputation of the crypto market, but that's not preferred as they can easily manipulate the market with the money they have as their backup.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If there was an instant transaction coin on: August 24, 2023, 05:14:14 AM
Just a little survey, thanks!

When a translation doesn't require a block confirmation, there ideally should be no transaction fees either. Also the architecture will not be decentralized like Bitcoin. I think in crypto market, we already have couple of options where are transactions are nearly instant and cheap. But if you have some idea to make it instant and free, pitch your idea to government. They might accept it.

before doing that, study the architecture of UPI payment system that are being used in India. That's the only thing you will have to compete to.
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the launch of $350M crypto mining centre in Oman make a difference? on: August 23, 2023, 06:30:26 PM
Every oil rich countries know that oil is a depleting asset and in the next couple of decades, their reserve is going to be depleted. So they are trying to get into new businesses which will support them for those unforeseen times. It's good that Oman has chosen crypto as a survival strategy. But if they are not inviting private players and setting up a government funded mining city, that will not be good for cryptocurrency. It will eventually give them the power to manipulate the market as per their own will.

I am never very positive about governments or big corporates getting into crypto market because the decentralised architecture could be at risk.
564  Local / India / Re: G20 Set to Crystalize Global Crypto Rules as India Wraps Up Presidency on: August 23, 2023, 04:46:35 PM
What happened in the discussion is entirely confidential so this article is based on the interview of someone who participated in that discussion.

It seems that G20 is pushing the government to come with more clear regulations about cryptocurrency and its future and the good thing is an outright ban on cryptocurrencies may not be the best approach . And RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said “the FSB report recognizes that individual jurisdictions have the choice to prohibit crypto if they so desire.”

Full article

I do not really have a great feeling about it! India and RBI is very negative about crypto and if you remember the crypto study committee led by Subhash Chandra Garg, they had proposed a blanket ban and also a punitive action on crypto users. So the position of crypto currency in India is very unstable at this moment. The current situation of 30% tax is just an interim arrangement and not final.

So if the crypto regulation is an agenda item in upcoming G20 meeting, that is not going to be favorable for us. At least that's my take on this situation.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin at this Price limit its Global Adoption? on: August 23, 2023, 04:32:05 PM
Michael Saylor stated that people buy Bitcoin at the price they deserve. Just a few days ago, Adam Back made a bet on Twitter that Bitcoin would reach $100,000 by March 31st, 2024. Here's a concern I have, do you think the predicted increases in Bitcoin's price to $100,000, $200,000, $500,000, etc. will limit its global adoption? Since the price will be so high, the average person might not be able to afford a substantial amount of it. As a result, they might seek alternatives, potentially hindering global adoption. Could the excessively high price lead people to feel like they missed out, causing them to hold onto seemingly worthless fiat currency?

It is a really great question! I always say one thing - Bitcoin is a great asset to hold but it's not a great currency. It is expensive and slow compared to many other crypto or fiat related currency systems we have available in the market. So I don't think the high price will not hinder its global adoption. rather, it will be regarded as the greatest asset/investment in the history of humankind. The transactions will take place in fiat or other currencies but Bitcoin will remain as an investment asset which will outperform every other asset classes.

Bitcoin puritans will surely go against this, but that will not change the reality!
566  Economy / Economics / Re: The refusal of the country from its own Central Bank on: August 23, 2023, 03:36:06 PM
Lol! In the world of economics, such kind of experiments may bring in disaster. Demonetize a multi billion dollar economy is not an easy task and a whimsical leader should not be trusted with such a huge responsibility.

Most probably this candidate is a puppet of America and America is funding his election expenses. Because such moves will surely boost the dollar dominance in the world map and make it costlier. I don't think any leader with sane mind will take such steps.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin Fuels Coinbase with $1M ETH! on: August 22, 2023, 06:27:37 PM
I see a lot of speculations are going in the market. But at the end of the day, I feel Vitalik will probably sell some of this to fulfill his personal financial goal. As Bitcoinwalker correctly said, it's his money so he has got every right to decide what to do with it.

But I am sure Vitalik would not do any such things which will crash the market. Afterall, ETH is his baby and no father would want to bring down the reputation of his own baby. But let's wait and watch!
568  Economy / Economics / Re: Which problem will you choose to solve? on: August 22, 2023, 06:04:35 PM
It depends on the ticket size and potential market. From the business perspective, it always makes sense to Target a bigger market. So the market is bigger for the poor man's issue but the ticket size will be low. So the game is to sell to mass. On the other hand, a rich man's problem will give you a higher ticket size but small customer base.

Personally I will be more interested in solving poor man's problems for business because it will allow me to serve the mass.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Potential Impact of Binance Collapse on Bitcoin ($BTC) Price on: August 22, 2023, 05:56:08 PM
Hey all, let's chat about what could happen if #Binance faced trouble. Would it shake market confidence and affect $BTC? With Binance's high trading volume, its challenges might lead to caution, causing short-term dips. Traders might shift to other exchanges, influencing prices. Regulatory concerns could escalate, impacting Bitcoin temporarily. While history shows events impact prices, the crypto market is intricate. This isn't about fear, but discussion. Stay informed, diversify, and be ready for anything. Share your respectful insights on whether a Binance issue would truly rattle Bitcoin's price. Remember, this is just speculation, not financial advice

It will be disastrous! Binance is the topmost crypto exchange with a daily volume of more than 4 billion dollars. If Binance gets into trouble, the Bitcoin will get into trouble as well. A this trouble will be much bigger than FTX or MTgox trouble. This might pollute the crypto market for next couple of years.

Let's just hope and pray that it doesn't happen!
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC or Anti-ASIC? on: August 21, 2023, 05:42:52 PM
For POW coins, some people think that only anti-ASIC can be mined fairly, in order to prevent the concentration of hash rate and ensure decentralization. But other people hold the opposite view. They believe that it is ASIC that strengthens the security of coins. For CPU mining algorithms, large data centers or cloud computing vendors can easily launch 51% attacks.

Do you think anti-ASIC is necessary?

I honestly think anti-ASIC will make mining cheaper and accessible for all. That's true decentralisation. Currently Bitcoin cannot be mined by any average Joe because of its entry barrier. But anyone can mine XMR as it a CPU mining coin. So this makes mining more decentralised and accessible to all.

But it comes with a certain amount of risk as you have correctly pointer out. So in that case, I find POS is a viable alternative for mining as it's safer for the environment.
571  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentine leading candidate: Pro Bitcoin, anti CentralBank, wants dollarization on: August 21, 2023, 05:49:05 AM
Quote
So, this is going to be a really mindfuck moment for a lot of users
- he likes Bitcoin
- wants to get rid of the central bank
- want to fully adopt the usd dollar, so ditching completely the pesos

That's oxymoron!

It seems Javier Milei is another puppet of America. Otherwise, no good country will ever want to replace their own currency and adopt currency from another country. That's definitely a negative but if he has won the presidential primary, that means a lot of stupid people support this fellow.

Replacing currency with USD may work for smaller countries but when it comes to a country which ranks 23rd in global list, might bring disaster.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some smart guy converted $1000 to 1 million in one day with $BALD coin on: August 18, 2023, 06:20:55 PM
It's not smart.

It's called (Insider-Trading) he got early-information about the listing. Fun-fact, my self working as moderator we got some early information as well for the project I was manage to hit listing on exchange.

I can buy the token before listing on the new exchange. So, this one it's not smart just because he got insider-information and make him (insider-trading).

Exactly so! Such kind of incidents can't be luck! It's cheating! I won't be surprised if that person is a part of the admin group of that coin. Millionaire by luck is a very rare incident. But it looks more time an informed trading decision. So I will say it's a classic case of insider trading which is considered as cheating in real world. No glory in cheating and making money out of it. Usually such kind of things are done by some members of the admin panel of that coin.

573  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 18, 2023, 03:00:35 PM
Faucet businesses can be profitable only if you run with some cheap but known coins. With Bitcoin, you won't make any money for sure. Also a lot depends on what kind of advertisements you want to show. Nowadays, you won't find a lot of advertising companies who pays out in Bitcoin. Also I don't think goggle adsense will give you approval for a faucet website. Also a lot of scripts can be found in the market which will run faucet websites for the users but no view will be counted due to strong as blocker. In long term, faucet is not a business you will prefer running.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulations among the key factors that affect the price of Bitcoin on: August 18, 2023, 11:53:53 AM
Is regulations among the key factors that affects the price of Bitcoin

Absolutely!

Favorable regulations will support the price and vice versa. Regulatory actions have always been a key factor in price movement. The way El-Salvador bitcoin adoption helped the price, similarly China's ban on cryptos affected the price negatively. That's always been the case.
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SpaceX sold $373M worth Bitcoin, reason of current dump on: August 18, 2023, 05:38:10 AM
Have you see how dumping Bitcoin? If not you are missing red chart. Here is the reason why current dump happened.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/spacex-sold-bitcoin-acquired-2021-2022-report

You can see SpaceX sold $373M worth of Bitcoin. Elon is very harmful for Bitcoin as always. He always supports shitcoins that doesn't have any real value.

That is precisely my fear when I hear news of institutional adoption of Bitcoin. With the kind of money they have in reserve, they can easily buy large quantities of Bitcoins and can have the power to manipulate the market even if it's for a short term.

My biggest fear is now BlackRock entering into the Bitcoin market. This is not going to be a good news for the crypto investors like me.
576  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 17, 2023, 06:31:49 PM
I was having a conversation with a friend, and we talked about how difficult the economy is and how it can disrupt someone's plan to hold their bitcoins without tampering with it. I think this is true because if you think of how difficult things are getting, Salaries from jobs no longer sufficient to sort all needs, and profit from business seriously affected and made intangible because of the increasing cost of running a business and the rising cost of things.

Holding your bitcoins has a lot to do with discipline truly, but discipline is harder to practice when you are being suffocated and suffering financially with plenty bills and responsibility to respond to. People in countries with better economy, where there are good jobs and businesses are working, Bitcoins will easier hold than for people who are in places with terrible economic situation. What do you think?

Let's face it! Bitcoin has become an investment rather than a currency. Otherwise this question wouldn't have popped up in your mind! Everyone wants to keep Bitcoin and no one wants to spend it. But if your Bitcoin can't support you in difficult times, what's the use of it? I personally once funded my medical expenses using Bitcoin as I had no cash available with me. I could have used my credit card but that could have made the things worse with sky high interest rate. So make use of Bitcoin in difficult times. Otherwise it's not serving its purpose.
577  Local / India / Re: India proposes AI-powered conversational payments system — RBI on: August 17, 2023, 05:23:15 PM
India's payment technologies are way ahead of many other first world countries. Honestly, this UPI payment is a path-braking innovation. Earlier this year I had visited couple of EU countries, and their fiat payment system looks encient. It seemed I travelled back in time of fiat transactions which has been long forgotten in India.

This conversational AI will be another super system but can be misused if not implemented well.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Spot Bitcoin ETF in Europe Listed on Euronext Amsterdam on: August 17, 2023, 12:05:28 PM
I have tried to find out if it's a physically settled ETF or not but couldn't find much information. Can anyone share more information about it?

Also it seems BlackRock is behind this. They are infamous for market manipulation. We need to be aware of this fact. They have started spending money in crypto market.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Whitepaper just Buzz Word in Alt and Meme coins? on: August 16, 2023, 06:12:25 PM
Hi Friends,

I often come across Alt Coins and even meme coins showing white paper. IMO, they are absolutely ruining the meaning of Whitepaper, aren't they?

Some of them use it for showing Toeknomics, some of them show their Utilities & Use cases, some show Roadmap and Planning, and some show just Memes in the paper.

There are many Crypot New Enthusiasts who just jump into the Project as and when they see Website and Whitepaper link. Hardly check what is even inside!

Just wondering what is your take on it!

Whitepaper has become a fashion in crypto market. But 99% of them do not add any real value. Now in the era of AI, it has become even more easier to write a whitepaper. Just ask chatgpt or Bard AI and they will get it done for you. You just have to manually review and make changes accordingly. The effort has come down to almost zero. So whitepaper is not something which you should consider before making an investment decision. Majority of them are fake and copied from others or written by AI.

I personally do not think whitepaper adds any value to the project, especially memecoins. These memecoins are short lived and add nothing to the ecosystem.
580  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF trivia continues, applications getting reviewed - Funds will drive on: August 16, 2023, 04:47:57 PM
Funds will drive!!!!

Are you sure?? Lol!

Usually ETFs do not hold the actual asset, it is just dependent on the price of the asset. Obviously exception is there.

Do you know if these Bitcoin ETFs will be backed by real bitcoins? If yes, then funds will drive and we will move towards further centralisation. If not, no funds will drive into crypto market.
