Hi guys/ girls, I have a question with regards to staking: It looks like my wallet is not staking correctly. This because my last minted coins were received on 9/7/14 and when I stake now, my weight is only 15280, which are the coins in my wallet. As I understand it, my minting probability should be at the max now, so my weight shoul be much much higher. Can anybody explain this to me ? Or is there something wrong with my client ? Thanks PoS 2.0 added some security features. I think of it as an upper limit on your weight. So you can't just hold for years and then come with a very high network weight and control the network for a time. Ok, thanks. So the upper limit is then the number of coins in my wallet ? So that actually means than that people with small to medium amounts of coins will basically never receive any staking rewards anymore and the people with large amounts of coins will receive almost all of the staking rewards, right ? I think this really goes against what POS was intended for, namely that everybody, no matter how big or small the amount of coins, will eventually receive a set yearly percentage of their total coin amount as staking reward/ interest. This can only be done in a fair way if the stakes that have not received any rewards for the longest time get the highest chance of being the next ones to receive it. As I understand it now, my weight will never be any higher than 15K on a total network weight of currently about 10 million. So I'd just as well not even make the effort to stake with those odds. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. You can read the white paper here: http://blackcoin.co/blackcoin-pos-protocol-v2-whitepaper.pdfIf you allow the coin age to increase linear to the time the coin has not staked, then someone could store coin age indefinitely and have a better chance of controlling the blockchain for a bit, when they brought there coins online. While having less coins might mean you won't stake as often, you will still stake over time. From my experience I would say right now you will stake about once a day with 15K network weight. (provided you have a good internet connection and decent computer)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=700411.0User: macbook-air F2Pool aka Discus Fish https://www.f2pool.com/• Stratum mining protocol • Bitcoin+Litecoin • Merged mining with NMC, IXC, I0C, HUC and DOGE • Servers in mainland China May 12 2015. What does this message tell you? F2Pool Turns Two
And we are introducing Namecoin, Ixcoin and I0coin to our Bitcoin miners today. If you fill the payout address, you can receive 2 NMC + 1 IXC + 1 I0C + 5 HUC in additional to each bitcoin mined. Please do not confuse I0C and IOC, which is another coin. Thanks.
thanks deadsea

How do you think PoS wouldn't be better for the network? Do you think the average third world person deserves a chance to help secure the network?
Proof of stake serves only to enrich the stakers. You fail it A 1% PoS does not enrich the stakers. And the point is, everyone holding PoS coins can be a staker. What is bitcoin? 10% inflation right now? much higher earlier.

That's my question. Who is, among the big miners, the one generating the mining for iXcoin?
Am I right in saying that, on average, iXcoin is mined by a regular 20% of bitcoin miners?
If so, who is/are this/there miner/miners?
I placed the chart in my post to show who is around a 20% mining of bitcoin.
I've looked at it and it has to be discus fish. Nothing else makes sense; ghash.io only has about 4% now. I didn't even notice but ghash.IO is only finding 3-4 blocks a day on IXcoin anymore. They used to be finding 99% of them. Wonder where all the other hash comes from.

- at least one big ixcoin miner (or a representative of a big mining farm which is merge-mining ixcoin) If it's true that Nasakioto created it, it's even true that anybody spending considerable time and resources to keep merge mining alive for ixcoin should be part of the board, partaking in important decisions for the future of iXcoin. Am I wrong? Question: who is the biggest ixcoin miner nowadays? You are correct and I have already tried reaching he biggest pool on earth [Discus Fish] but no response. Of course, they're also anonymous [seems to be the style today] so I cannot make such a decision alone. I would have to put the matter up for a vote and then we would decide. If I hear back from Discus Fish, I'll talk to them and we'll go from there. I'm a bit worried about anonymous groups from China joining iXCoin but I'll keep an open mind and let the board decide. Is Discus Fish merge mining Ixcoin?

some proper dumping going on
Guess those fake sell walls must work....

Who saw the ixcoin 100k sell wall yesterday? Someone was selling almost 100k ixcoin for 6 btc. Who bought it? http://prntscr.com/79zw31I saw it and it was more than one buyer...

Um, is someone pumping MINT today? Up 50%??? Not complaining, pleasantly surprised. Looks like someone Is acquiring again yep, up to 10 sat and 15btc moved today. nice which exchange? Currently 23btc in volume across exchanges (7:00am EDT). A lot of movement happening here. 14btc @ Cryptsy, and the rest between bter and polo. I wonder if that mass buyer earlier in the year is getting ready to make a healthy profit? If they could move it to 40sat they'd double their money. finding a massive buyer at 40 sat might prove difficult though...

That chart is for bitcoin not Ixcoin...

I just woke up and what do I find?
Massive IXC dumping.
We add Michael Terpin to the board, a guy who charges up to $50,000 per month for his Marketing Services, and what do we get, no, not a single article or a small 2% rally, no, we get the biggest dumps I have seen in 2 years.
iXCoin literally makes me feel like I am losing my mind.
notice the buying though... 70-80K just bought on Cryptsy. That buying was the dump. When someone dumps someone else buys. Otherwise it's just a sell wall. So who or why would dump so much so low now? That's what bothers me. I think of a dump as a market sell.

Because the people giving you positive trust feedback do not have any themselves?
Almost all of them do. And it doesn't explain how some can see a huge positive rating while some see none. I'm gonna add you to my trusted names and see if that's it. Maybe only people in my trust network can see it. Give me 3 minutes and I'll do that, then you tell me if you see it then. Edit: Ok. Check now. I don't see any trusted feedback for you either.
|
|
|
Does anybody know how the trust rating works? 30 days ago I was at around +22 and now it's +130.
But I've only had a few additional positive ratings added in the past 30 days so I don't understand what's going on.
Vlad, this is what it looks like for accounts other than your own, e.g. from mine: This is because your account doesn't have positive Trusted feedback yet, which is visible for everyone by default. But some can see it. Not just me. So why can't you see it? How do I switch the default so everyone can see my glorious trust? haha Why would that even be optional, what's the point of trust feedback if nobody can see it? Because the people giving you positive trust feedback do not have any themselves?

That's our guy. I sold him on iXcoin in half hour. Haha. Although he did his due diligence for a few days after I talked to him. I did not ask him what he saw to convince him to join ixc so I have no idea what, if any, plans he has. Either way we are very lucky to have a man like Mr. Terpin. Only time will tell how big of a deal he is. And whether he is actually going to do anything...

sell walls getting pulled on finex

If history repeats itself, dump incoming again at 430 pm on my chart.
dump or rally, never know. But 4-6 PM EST is a big mover.

Important Announcement:
I told you guys I would keep trying to find some big names to join our board. Please keep in mind this does not mean immediate development deals so do NOT start pumping the price.
This is simply a new board member who does not have any obligations to iXcoin outside of what he wishes to do whenever he chooses to.
With that being said: Please welcome Mr. Michael Terpin as our new iXcoin Foundation Board Member.
[this is what happens when you push me]
I don't know what he will bring, but keep pushing. Bitcoin market is heating up again.
