mufa23 you are the king! i am still laughing with that Tongue
but to be serious about it, the title was reffering to some censorship applied to bfl forums. i am not aware of that , it might have happened ...
i actually have a real job to take most of my time rather than whinning without critical thinking...Obviously OP doesnt like inaba!
well, i didnt like also his latest responses that i read here on bitcointalk forums. yes, i said it!
PLEASE create something meaningfull for people to talk about... Wink

You could always spread knowledge .... as josh/inaba/the next guy doesnt know as much as you do...just a thought...

585  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated Nov 18 with latest poclbm & Stratum on: November 19, 2012, 08:57:05 AM
stratum support = no need for stratum proxy (eg slush's pool ) ?
586  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [DISCUSSION] Setting up a bitcoin service for Greece on: November 08, 2012, 12:38:30 PM
i'm glad that people take this initiative moves .
Although i find your thought interesting , i dont find it that much appealing to more people  than already involved.
I didn't know about bitcoinx.gr until now and i find this a very good step for people to inform themselves.
Something funny.. some months ago i was handing bitcoins on my fb account to anyone who would post a btc address ... guess what??
NO BITCOIN ADDRESS AT ALL!
I have a question. is there a place for bitcoiners in greece to talk and discuss further development?
(besides a fb group that i read just before that existed)
I do code, as a part of my job.
as for localbitcoins. well , as soon as my economics balance , i'll be buying bitcoins in thessaloniki Smiley

i started using the windows executable as a proxy (which by the way , i had to close the client -was configured on 8332).
It works, for starters! do you need us to report something on it?

591  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Website and software translations on: April 30, 2012, 08:17:36 AM
Dear all.
I've added a small portion of serenata's greek translation for completion(el_gr). A member on transifex noted that a translation like this would not work in Cyprus and was absolutely right. An el only version would work (if greek was the desired language) or an el_CY. if there is a member that lives in Cyprus and would like to contribute please respond and take appropriate actions.
You could either download the greek el_gr and rename to el_CY (for greek) or download the default english and rename it to en_CY.
I am not a resident and i feel its not my call to make.
592  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: To developers of Bitcoin ad option to send BTC of total value X in currency Y on: April 26, 2012, 11:08:34 AM
istar , although i find it interesting there are many variables on this.
Value according to who?one exchange?
lets say that i have an exchange and i say that 1 bitcoin is valued 500$ (i know its overstretched example)
Is one exchange a solid point of reference?
My thinking takes me that you could trade by using the same currency. e.g. i want to send you 19.54214001 for this service..
so in conclusion , to my opinion, a feature like this is not needed.
593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGox customer support == Huge Steaming Pile of FAIL! on: April 10, 2012, 09:42:57 AM
Apparently "nothing" does indeed mean "nothing."

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Mtgox does need a serious wake-up call when it comes to their customer support. My impression is that they believe they are too big to fail, so the only thing likely to give them that wake-up call is serious competition

there is such a thing... called Intersango Smiley
594  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece's New Currency on: March 30, 2012, 12:55:31 PM
So for different reasons we all agree that a bitcoin currency would not work.  Its just realistic .
You cannot have a country only with citizens with economic degrees...
595  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece's New Currency on: March 29, 2012, 01:51:27 PM
That's exactly I anticipated, if lot's of people have the ability to work but kicked out of the current system due to less access to loan and technology, they will get their own economy running by using another currency

Good chance for BTC, but how to advertise BTC in Greece? Do they have a forum in their native language?
we didn't need to....
It seems that we are capable of understanding other languages too.... or none of the greek users had/has the time to moderate it  Smiley

@ffe do not believe everything that you read. Because a newspaper like guardian published it , it does not mean that its true.

now.. on the topic.
As much as i enjoy the bitcoin project , you can understand that its still immature(there are no applications, ease of use) for use in everyday transactions.  A 50-60-70... yr old cannot use / understand this "bitcoin thingie",  they do not own a computer  and so on.
Although it would be an interesting project, in real world terms its too soon for something like this.
If you manage to say educate your grandparents to make/accept payments buy showing a qrcode in their smartphone , we could start discussing about it. until then, stop spreading fud
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires hate Bitcoin. on: March 29, 2012, 01:37:14 PM
Billionaires love Bitcoin
additionaly bitcoin is a convienient way to bribe people internationally and annonymously it also holds a value density higher
then investmentgrade opals or bonds.

Understanding and usage of brainwallets can make a naked abducted billonaire even capabal of paying for his release out of
his head
.

billionaires love Bitcoin
those two could be the worst arguments i've ever encountered on this forum...
Although i have no acquaintances with any billionaires from a "cold investing point" i think that bitcoin would be interesting.
other than that i fail to see the point in topic.
597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The magic of mtgox and international banking system.. on: March 22, 2012, 12:45:45 PM
If your volume isn't that big, why not take your business to Intersango? Their SEPA transfers are ~€1,22. Quick and painless.

International routing can be rather expensive, especially if intermediaries are involved and even more so if small amounts are transferred.

already did... Wink
598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The magic of mtgox and international banking system.. on: March 22, 2012, 08:48:16 AM
although i dont have the swift order in front of me i believe that it took less than 10 days.
599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The magic of mtgox and international banking system.. on: March 22, 2012, 08:36:57 AM
So , no MtGox if you happen to live in europe and want to transfer small amounts.
alrighty then ....
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / The magic of mtgox and international banking system.. on: March 22, 2012, 07:06:59 AM
My experience could also be a contest with a prize.
I tried (and succeded as it turned up) to withdraw an astronomic amount of 61.58$ on my bank account via international wire. My account is in euro but that is of no importance.
Can you guess how much of the 61.58$ made it to the account?
...
...
wait...
....
5.54euro which is almost 7.33$.

on my last "attempt" of 28$ before a long time (june 2011), 20 made it...
what is happening? is this common practice that i am not aware of? Do people know that and i somehow missed it?
I can understand that its "petty cash"  for a great deal of people in here but... i cannot find the words to describe this situation without swearing...
your thoughts?
