has anyone withdrawn fiat from any of the exchange before? like from cex.io or cryptsy?

With Digibyte coming up with its own exchange, i do hope they have employed and implemented many or all of the security features to ensure the safety of every user's DGB, as well as the integrity of Digibyte's servers that the exchange's data is on. Just recently, bter and 2 other lesser known exchanges got hacked. Before this, many exchanges like bitstamp and mtgox and some of which i don't really know got hacked as well.

Whether its 2FA or using SMS or using email to authenticate one's login or for withdrawal of coins, i really really do hope that the Digibyte Team nail this. If they do, Digibyte will instantly soar to the skies as one of the MOST SAFEST to invest in and to use. And then other exchanges can learn a thing or two from Digibyte's Safety Standards. Just like how Digishield got used by other coins.

On a side note for us users, I think its high time that users LEARN to use 2FA. i mean, we are all in this for the long haul and investors are looking to make thousands or turn 3 digits into 5-6 digits. people out there are working their ass off to bring in the BIG Moolah [money] while we are putting in so LITTLE effort to get it. is it so difficult to put in just a bit more effort into ensuring the safety of our coins on our own ends? At least the only thing we have to worry about is the servers' end, which i do hope Digibyte will address it.

One way to completely eliminate the problems on the users' end is for Digibyte to make it an obligation for users to enable 2FA or SMS. Well, if anybody wants to use a crypto-currency, we better have a mobile phone if not a smartphone. if 3rd world people can have one, you better have one too. We shouldn't give security an option to users. its a MUST despite the extra steps and the hassle. But anyway, im sure majority of us want our coins to be secured and not lost or stolen after knowing about all these hacking cases. and its not 1 or 2 or a few. how many BTC have been lost and how many people have been affected so far ever since mtgox? lots...

Although we can never be 100% Safe as i too understand that, at least make it difficult for the hackers and cover all loopholes and gaps. have backups and some kind of contingency plans if anything happens or if the worst happens.

The settings for the GIF is called Smarticon. you can find it by going to "Settings" on the left side menu. It's just above "Enable Animations".

- Telegram doesn't have it. And this is actually quite a new experience for me personally speaking as an IM user and i believed this is the first IM to have it? correct me if im wrong. So, i type the word 'hello' and instantly, there's already a well prepared set of GIFs for me to use. if i do not wish to use them at all, i just simply carry on typing. the process is smooth and fluid. i have to admit - i was impressed with how everything worked and flowed together. i was thinking there was going to be a lot of hiccups and bugs. BUT i have encountered none so far!!

- when i keyed in 'hello', what appeared before me was 2 rows of GIFs ready to be used. What's better was this - all the GIFs were already running...like a live preview. Instantly, i could just quickly cut to the chase of browsing through all of it and send the one i want to my friend. Do you have any idea what i had to do on Telegram? i had to INDIVIDUALLY view each GIF to see what they were about before choosing the one i want to send to my friend. Each GIF had to load and i had to wait while looking at that grey circle spinning. THAT IS SOOOO TIME CONSUMING and INCONVENIENT! What a hassle...really. It would have been great if i could see what all of them were about from the Grid View.

'Addon' you say??? ITS AN UPGRADE!!! FOR FREE!!! And its not even the main course of this whole entire full course meal that the GetGems Team is working on. This GIF...its gonna get better. i'm sure they are not done with this GIF business yet. lacking lots of content. interface could still use some improvement. and some functions too.

this is awesome! just updated the app and tried it. yes, its pretty limited right now. But its darn good for a start!!! it works flawlessly - fast and user-friendly. All that is left to be done is to expand the Library of keyword gifs and find some way to neatly display the 1000s of them for us to browse through and choose the gifs we want to send. And then once those are done, a Favorite Feature can be added so that the gifs we love can be easily reused instead of having to search for it again.

Would be nice to have a MEME Gallery added too.

the first time i heard about "Digibyte" was some person saying that he/she was going to mine Digibyte alongside with Dogecoin. i was at some Dogecoin online chat website. It was around Jan/Feb 2014. If not for that person, i wonder if i would have ever found out about Digibyte at all.

I got "an error occurred. Please try again later" when viewing my wallet in the app. Its been 24hrs and its still like that. Have also updated my version to the latest according to GooglePlay. should i reinstall?

every time i check my wallet to see the amount of GEMZ i have...a message appears telling me "an error occurred. please try again later". it was never like this before and it has already been 24hrs. i am also using the latest version [i checked GooglePlay and there's no update]. should i reinstall?

its like an upgrade version of Telegram. i mean, its *build on* Telegram. So once the features are fully rolled out, every Telegram user will want to get into this. its a Better Telegram...FOR FREE and FOR GEMZ [currency].

since Telegram users are able to see us in their contact list, one good way to create awareness is to put your first name as "(GEMS)" and then your last name as your real/nick name. so it will appear as "(GEMS) Johnny" for example. this is not your username btw. don't get confuse. its just an Appearence Name...a name which you want people to see.

If they start seeing many people in their contact list whose names start with "(GEMS)", it will definitely tickle their curiosity into finding out what it is by asking one of them.

1] If i send 1 GEMZ to someone on my contact list who uses Telegram but doesn't have the GEMS App yet, what will that person see? a pop up box saying to download GEMS App with a link? Am i right?

UPDATE: okay. i just tried to send to my friend [even though i got 0 GEMZ. lol]. but i got the pop up box telling me to invite him to join. Would be nice to have an auto message [not necessarily a pop up box] telling my friend "You have been invited by XXX to download GEMS to receive some GEMZ. Go to *link*" and i would see something like "User is currently not using Gems. He/She has already been invited to download." just some feedback for future improvements.

Just came back to check on how things are going for GEMS. Glad to see that the thread is back on track and making much needed progress to get those changes done.

So basically, just for the Messaging Platform, the GEMS Team has decided to stop developing its own "skeleton" and has decided to use Telegram's "skeleton" and all its nerves [network]. okay cool. Just make sure all the meat and muscles [the features that you have told us before] and appearance [how the app looks like as shown in the video] will be there and gets built onto Telegram's skeleton and nerves.

Glad to know Bitcoin Technology is still part of this GEMS project. i never really understood how the GEMS App was going to be totally build on Bitcoin Techonology. But I guess now the GEMS Team can work on getting those features done earlier, think about further improving those features in the near future and perhaps think of implementing new amazing features, since they no longer need to develop their own messaging app.  

Oh and i was well-informed enough to know that the GEMS app wasn't going to be fully done with all the meaty features by end December. Because of the initial plan to rollout certain features at a later date AFTER the android version gets released, only then will those features kick in - you know the airdrop and other different ways to get XGEMS Token. So i have no idea how some other people didn't know that. As for the crowdfunding campaign, i thought it was like for investors or for those who want to support GEMS. Since when was it "Oh, GEMS has hit 3000BTC or 1500BTC, so much funds yet where the hell are all the features???". Misinformed? Low Situation-Awareness? a mixture of both plus some other factors like not reading properly? Possible.  

I do agree that such change is certainly unwelcoming and demoralizing during this phase and not earlier, especially when it is a change to one of the cores of the GEMS Project. a major change. no doubt about that. BUT it was necessary and for the better of everyone and for the project. During the development phase of any project, there will always be certain things that we may fail to foresee or may have overlook. the GEMS Team had to make a critical decision and they handled it well enough if not perfect. Not forgetting, it was also THANKS TO US, those who invested and supported. Hence, the GEMS Team took our feedback into consideration and make the change without any serious compromise. At least it wasn't something done completely out of their own will. If its a change for the better...for the best...do it. But make sure of it first.

I am one of those who wants GEMS to succeed and not lose out to other competitors due to long-time development. i am one of those who wants the Android version to be out early and not have to wait 5-6 months for it. And i am glad that now those issues have been addressed. BUT of course, the GEMS Team still has to deliver all the stuff they have told us before. And it would be best if they can deliver more.

The only thing for us now is...to wait. As for the GEMS Team, deliver as what you have promised. If all's well, then it ends well. Do what you must do...GEMS Team. So far, i got to say...Keep up the good work. .

Oh and if you don't mind, maybe you can take a Team Photo to show us some GEMS Spirit for the Christmas Festive season or maybe for the New Year's. Cheers!
