581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: April 02, 2019, 08:21:06 AM
Hi all

I bought my tezos through the ICO and I did not do much with them yet.
The only thing I did so far is to complete the the KYC/AML Process.

Can someone tell me how I can transfer my XTZ to a wallet?
I have seen the website from Stephen Andrews  https://stephenandrews.github.io/activatez/

1)   Is this website (still) trustworthy?
2)   Is there another way to transfer it to an exchange?

Thanks a lot!

You can use TezBox or Galleon for your Tezzies, both are compatible with ICO wallets, you'll need your ICO wallet address, password and seed if my memory is good.

Tezbox website: https://tezbox.com/
Galleon website: https://galleon-wallet.tech/

The wallets are listed on Tezos.com website, so they are supposed to be trustworthy.

I don't think this was the fact that drive the price increase, just because Winklevoss mentioned Tezos. I think the upcoming Coinbase listing is a major fact for the rise, this wasn't announced yet but now is innevitable after Coinbase Custody launched Tezos stacking.

If with the new peers you can't sync your wallet try this:

Create a Schortcut of the Espers executable, go to it's Properties and on the Target field add to the end of the path '-conf=ESP.conf' (without quotes) where ESP.conf is the name of your .conf file.
The 'Target' path should look like this: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\ESP\Espers.exe -conf=ESP.conf
After this run the shortcut.

price looking great, hope it stays that way! Cheesy

The price is looking great because is stable at around 4-5K sats, but is far away from the 15K-20K which is the real value of this token. The good thing is that now almost anyone can aford a masternode on Bismuth platform with a .5 BTC per masternode. This coin can go 10x in the long run, no doubt about it since the team is continuously working on the project and they are delivering even on a bear-market.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) is still the long-term investment option number 1 on: March 28, 2019, 01:03:39 PM
The best coin to invest in is bitcoin. But if we consider altcoins, then ethereum should be in the portfolio of investors. Although the project has many serious competitors. I also invest in Cardano.

The best coin to store your money is Bitcoin or invest long term like 5-10 years, but if you want to gain more and faster (by faster i mean 1-2 years) you should put your money in other projects like Cardano, Ontology, Nano and other good projects. I am saying this because you won't see a 50-100x increase in Bitcoin price any time soon.
When this thread was talking about ethereum and do you think that makes sense to mention bitcoin? there was a section that already created for bitcoin and you should go for that in the bitcoin speculation section.
Ethereum will still remain superior to any other altcoins.

If you'll read the quoted post you'll see why it makes sense to mention Bitcoin. If you post without reading is not my fault. As for the Ethereum to be superior to any other coin, is just your opinion, mine is different: no coin out there is perfect, neither Bitcoin or Ethereum this is why no cryptocurrency has gone mainstream until now. Peace!

587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin is right for investment?? on: March 27, 2019, 08:48:31 AM
In my opinion alts are a good choice (i can't say good investment, because it could turn not to be) because they go up much harder than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is more stable and is unlikely to see it spike 10x, 20x. Also for beginners is another thing when you buy 100-200$ worth of cryptocurrency, because in BTC you'll have 0.0xxxx amount and on let's say DASH/ADA/NEO you'll have full coins in your wallet.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: March 26, 2019, 08:11:34 AM
Since micro payments will be on demand to meet the requirement free, fast and instant services providers will conquer the market. There is competition among various projects and Nano is one of them which has been very advanced since last bull run. Last time prices were driven totally a speculation but this time both things will play role. Nano is very cheap and most probably bottom has been seen already.

Nano have good tech behind, is very fast and feeless, but in my opinion is lacking good / aggresive marketing. Look at Tron, a shitcoin with nothing special but with aggresive marketing and a lot of partenerships is in top10. The good thing is that now you can buy it cheap, at under 1$ is a good deal. This is my personal opinion, no FUD or financial advice. Peace!
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elite Coin 1337 : Currency New Thread, Website & Wallets. Same Community on: March 22, 2019, 06:54:47 AM
I get the inflation thing but trust me, since I like POS coins I have staked almost all during last 3 years... and I know that when the APR drops below 10% the coins will not present any more interest to the investors beacause there is no gains beside the probable price increase. Is also the case of 1337 too, see how the price went down from 3-4 sats to under 1 sat. I can give you a lot of examples of coins that went to dust if the APR is not good enough. I don't say to be 1000% but something between 10 and 50% is the sweet spot Wink if not, i can "stake" NEO / ONT / NAV / XTZ / etc. Coins that have between 5 and 10% APR.

Fair point, I agree that most "investors" want to see higher numbers, no matter what it means for the actual value. As I said, there were many discussions and a community vote on the topic. I was arguing for 13.37 % back in the day, but now I think we should stick to the community decision.

Regarding the price, I hope we can agree that this was not primarily due to the low apr. Everything went down the drain last year...
Look back at 2016 when Elite apr was much much higher (it was actually 1337 % at some point). Price was even lower than it is now.

I think I can also chime in here and say that its not always about the APR percentage. What really counts for a coins success is the use case and active developments. If people see that Elite has a good use case and is active working on developments then people would buy just for that alone and not worry about the APR. Most PoS projects fail because they have nothing on offer except for their attractive APR and have no use case so of course they die. I like what Elite is doing and if all goes well then we'll start seeing people using Elite coins for games etc...

Yes, actual application is really vital in keeping up the coin alive.
If elite has no use case, they might have been eating the dust for so long already.
So this new dev team might being doing us a favor to further strengthen this project.
Who knows, they might boost its value in the coming days?

I don't want to spread FUD, but since 1337 aka Elite wasn't able to find a purpose or a use case in almost 4 years, after changing devs each year I don't think will ever find it.
BTW where did you come out with "est 2014"? when first block was generated in late 2015. Anyway, I wish you good luck, you'll need a lot.

Is this a takeover of the project or why the new thread? Anyway I want to ask if you intend to implement Masternodes or at least increase the APR because now with 1.337% not many users will be tempted to stake this coin, including me. Cheers mates!

It's a friendly takeover. Xenonflux doesn't currently have the time to continue as dev. Hence nerdlabs and flapmin came onboard.

Can be verified here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2249640.msg44992054#msg44992054

Masternodes might be implemented in the future but it's currently not the plan.

APR is final and was decided by the community. I do get your point that it's low, but in the end it doesn't really make a difference. You can stake at 1000 % apr and have the coin inflate by 1000 % yearly or stake at 1.337 % apr and only have that as inflation. Value-wise, it doesn't matter.

591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: March 21, 2019, 07:08:47 AM
Thanks for the feedback. We're excited about the bounty and happy we can distribute the coin to the wider crypto community this way.

When we are ready, BountyCloud will start the thread there with all the bounty details as you'd expect from BitcoinTalk bounty programs Smiley.

If you want to preview our bounty rulesets right now (still needs some final changes) you can see it here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5113401.msg49878802#msg49878802
Looks great with at least three types of promotions planned.
However, I have never had interests in bounties pay per stake.
They tend to last too long, and risky to not get payments at the end.
To make sure that all supporters will get payments at the end if they satisfied all work requirements, they should use Escrow.
Hiring someone provides Escrow service is a good approach.
Kind regards,

Why do you need escrow if the campaign is run by the VEIL team?! In my opinion you need to use an escrow only if you give the funds to someone else to distribute it to the participants. Regarding the distribution using stakes, that is the best idea because this way people won't be left out if they are too many (if you use fixed amount of VEIL per week) and neither the team won't be forced to add more coins to pay all. And second, if the participants list will be short, you'll get more rewards. Keep in mind that this is my personal opinion.

when will withdrawals be enabled? not much point in trading without this information.
Sure, it is just a wasteful trading if all profits (if earned) can not withdraw together with capital from the Cryptopia exchange.
Traders can trade on Cryptopia now, but what will they get if finally Cryptopia make scam exit?
So, I think that for someone who have money on Cryptopia, it is  time to relax a little bit after checking your balance there, and spend rest of your time to hang out, entertain, or trade on other exchanges.

If they started securing the tokens, some of them and they resumed trading for some pairs I think is a matter of time until they will resume withdrawals too. As for your concern about an eventual exit scam, I don't think this will happen, since they could made it now or when they were hacked so they could blame the hackers.

well i dont know how you make copys, but i just make copy of full folder is every 2 weeks and if i have problem i have fresh copy, never failed so far.

Good aproach. But for all users, I think the dev or anyone involved in the project should make a bootstrap of the blockchain for Windows and Linux, so anyone can use it when needed.

Indeed that the promotions are needed for the project to catch more cryptos, but the question what are an unique ways to do so?

A good way to gain awarness is to give away some coins to users. Why is this important, because any holders (big or small) will shill the project to others because they want to increase their holdings value. Making a gleam giveaway and put people to RT some tweets, follow NOBT project, visit nobt website, etc. There are many ways to gain visibility. This is how i see marketing in any project. Cheers!

I said i tried to use it about four times.  Deleted everything in the directory.  I also used the wallet to create the other files from scratch, then overwrote the ones with yours.

In the end, did you managed to create and use the bootstrap?

No, I let it sync and it took about 2.5 days.

Noise dev of TruckCoin and VersionCoin told me this:

To make blockchain snapshot you have to archive these files and folders -
for berkley db coins - files 'blk0001.dat', 'blkindex.dat' and folder 'database'
for leveldb coins - file 'blk0001.dat' and folders 'txleveldb' and  'database'
It's OS dependent, Windows blockchain will not work on Linux and vice versa.

To make a bootstrap file you just need to copy blk0001.dat and rename it to bootstrap.dat
But bootstrapping is not reliable, usually all blockchain copies have some orphan blocks, if orphan found in bootstrap.dat bootstrapping stops at this point, happens very often.

endquote

After I synced, I stopped the wallet and copied the whole folder from Appdata/Roaming directory into a Blockchain Backup directory
after detach database at shutdown was selected.

I don't know which type InflationCoin is.

Since I don't find any "blkindex.dat" file in InflationCoin folder, I assume is a leveldb coin. As for the Windows to Linux/Mac and vice-versa botstapping, indeed they are not working, you need different bootstraps for different operating systems.

Is the NOBT exchange a small volume? Do you not want to enter the market that many people visit to increase the volume of NOBT.

Sure, do you have an idea which market that many people visit and how we can add NOBT on it?

I don't think a new market is needed too much, but more awareness, because when people will want to buy/sell the coin they will make accounts on any exchange where the coin is listed. Any new market is a plus for any project out there since the more, the better is but is not a must. Because you can be listed on 20 exchanges, if none want to buy it, is worthless to be listed on a lot of exchanges.

A staking computer got unplugged again and again Inflation wallet could not recover itself.  I tried the bootstrap some threads back and it wouldn't install.  How did you create it, Othell?

If you are talking about the bootstrap that I've uploaded and how to create it, is very simple. Just go to C:\Users\YOUR_PC_NAME\AppData\Roaming\InflationCoin and copy the following 3 file: database & txleveldb folders and blk0001.dat file. Note that I did this with my wallet closed. When you need the bootstrap just copy the 3 files (replace all) into the C:\Users\YOUR_PC_NAME\AppData\Roaming\InflationCoin

Thanks.  Do you have to select Detach Database at Shutdown?

No, I don't think so, since I did not do this when I copied the files for the bootstrap.

The files are going to still be there if it's selected or not, but I think the detach aspect of it changes the file structure. It's used if you want to move the installation from one computer to another, so probably used in making bootstraps work well.   I tried the bootstrap about four different ways and I couldn't use it.

So you didn't managed to use the bootstrap? Or what do you mean with "I couldn't use it"
