The story would be different if PSG lost or drew at the hands of Dortmund, it would be quite a shame if Luis Enrique squad was knocked out dramatically, considering the depth of the squad they have, they should be able to qualify easily. This is truly the Hell group, it is quite difficult to predict how this group F will end up. However, I have a feeling that PSG can secure a ticket to the round of 16, while Newcastle or Milan will fight for the Europa League.
Newcastle can qualify if PSG loses or draws, the only condition is to beat Milan. Milan can only qualify if PSG loses, if PSG draws then Milan still loses head to head, meaning their win is useless in the UCL, and will only go to the Europa League. Another scenario, PSG can qualify by winning, drawing or losing, as long as Newcastle and Milan draw. The scenario is quite simple, but I think there will be another surprise on matchday 6, I mean if Milan qualify then that's the real surprise here.
This is the most difficult group in the UCL this season, so even though PSG has a capable squad, it will still be difficult because the other 3 teams also have squads that are almost equal in quality. However, PSG's chances of qualifying are very big, Dortmund, who are certain to qualify, will not have a bigger advantage than PSG in their last match. No time to look back; now, let's move on from the recent ODI World Cup. It's a series that follows a tough loss in the ICC Cricket World Cup. I don't really care much about the series outcome. However, for India, a good start is much needed after losing the ICC Cricket World Cup to Australia. I just hope both teams perform well, even though some key players have rested from both sides. Let's shift our focus to the upcoming T20 series; it's a whole different squad from the main one. |
