Barcelona met the expectations and got a solid win. Lewandowski added a big strength to the team right after entering the match. He contributed to three goals in total. If we were watching the previous version of Barcelona with Koeman this match would have ended by a loss or draw probably. But so many things changed about the team after Xavi's arrival.
Atletico Madrid also had a great day by destroying Celta Vigo 4-1. I was expecting a win though but this was more than I waited for. They are a really unpredictable team as it is difficult to guess when they would be able to get big wins like this. Inconsistency isn't a good thing but we are still at the beginning of the season of course.

This is definitely like the worst beginning for Bayern Munich in the recent years. However it makes me feel good at the same time. Because we are finally likely to watch a competitive season for the league title. Everyone must be bored to see Bayern Munich dominating the season easily. I don't care Dortmund or some other different team becoming the champions this season. It would be just lovely to see a different champion. Maybe it can be even Freiburg as they are still quite consistent after the previous season too.

The best match I will be looking forward to for the second match of the group stage this week is the Bayern Munich vs Barcelona match. For me this is the most awaited match of the week because I am sure we will see interesting match from both teams. I am curious about Lewandowski who will soon return to the headquarters of his former team where he is currently part of another team.
Lewandowski proved to be doing his best for Barcelona by scoring a hattrick against Plzen, but I'll also be waiting to see if he can beat his former team this week. Obviously this will be very interesting to look forward to.
Bayern Munich are quite highly favoured for the win in Allianz Arena. It is going to be really interesting to watch Lewandowski against his old team here. Bayern Munich still seem very solid after losing him. They don't have big problems with scoring multiple goals in a match. However Lewandowski has changed things for Barcelona a lot. They are much more productive after making this signing. I just wonder how ambitious he will be against his old team. If he maintains his performance then Barcelona might have a chance for at least one point here. As for a betting choice I'd rather continuing with both teams to score. It is safer than trusting any side here. |

Of course everything will not change magically for Chelsea now. They still need time to get better. I still doubt Tuchel's departure is the solution for the team. Of course he wasn't going to stay here forever. However they gave up on him very quickly after a few matches. Now they might bring Pochettino as it seems but he is also no guarantee for helping the team have a solid season. At least he knows all teams here pretty well but I doubt he is a better choice for Chelsea. The main issue of the team might not be related to the management by the way. We will find out what it is in the coming days.

We are exactly two weeks away from the next race in F1 which is the Spa GP. This is one of the tracks I love in F1 honestly. There have been some suggestions to change the track a little to make it safer for the drivers but I don't know if this will be happening. I just hope that it doesn't become one of the tracks that are removed from the calendar for good. It is really difficult to predict who can win the race now as there have been many different drivers winning this race. Normally it would be Verstappen or Leclerc now. I think Verstappen might be one step ahead considering the recent performances.

Congrats to Fenerbahçe on their victory right before play-off round. I wasn't expecting them to have big problems against a weak team like Slovacko anyway. This time their opponent is going to be Austria Wien which is a stronger one. But Fenerbahçe should be able to eliminate them as well without having a serious problem. I already see them in the group stage in short. After that I hope they get lucky about the draw for groups as well. They have a really nice history in this tournament like playing against Benfica in the semi-final. Maybe they would be successful again.

Rashford is one of three new acquisitions that Paris Saint-Germain is keeping an eye on. According to the most recent rumors, PSG has started talking to Rashford's representation about the prospect of the player joining the Ligue 1 club from Manchester United.
Since PSG head coach Christophe Galtier had previously stated that he wanted to bring in another striker, Renato Sanches, Nordi Mukiele, Hugo Ekitike, Vitinha, and Nuno Mendes have all signed contracts with the French champions during the summer transfer window.

However it feels like this transfer may not happen. The reason is that Erik ten Hag wants to see Rashford in the team this season. He was in the starting eleven in the first match of the season as well. On the other hand he has only one year left on his contract as well. Maybe PSG can find a way to convince the team but they would need to pour a lot of money for him. |

Manchester United were really successful against Brentford last season. They got comfortable wins in two matches in the league. Therefore I think that this is another chance for them to be victorious. This would help them improve their morale as well after losing to Brighton in Old Trafford. However it is really hard to predict whether they can maintain a good performance after this match. Because they still seem no different than the previous season. We just need some time to see the Erik ten Hag effect hopefully.

It is going to be the first match for Hatayspor in this season. They were really solid in the previous one but we don't know how much prepared they are now. Trabzonspor have already proven themselves about being well-prepared for this season. Their performance against Istanbulspor was really satisfying. They are the absolute favourite of this match as well. They defeated Hatayspor 2-0 here last and they can get another decent win now too.

Osasuna - Sevilla match is a candidate to become a very competitive match now. Bookmakers favour Sevilla but it is not by a big odd gap as well. Because they must be taking Osasuna's last season performance into account. If they really keep that effort in this match too then I think Sevilla would have some difficulties in winning once again. Their last match here ended in a draw by 0-0. Maybe this time we can see goals but it might still end in a draw again.

Udinese team are normally not one of the best teams of course. However they have been a really difficult opponent for Milan for some time. Somehow Milan had serious problems on defeating them even though there was a big quality difference. We see this kind of teams in every league actually. They are like the counter of big teams. Hence I wonder if we will see any surprise in this match. I still want to believe in Milan to win this in San Siro but they had better not underestimate Udinese here.

This is another important season for PSG to reach the CL title. They have build a wonderful trio on the front with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe but still they haven't been able to win this title. It was related to Pochettino's vision as well I presume and we will see what Galtier will change in this team for achieving it. Galtier is actually a far more inexperienced manager and some of us still have doubts about him. I also have that to be honest but I'm still trying not to be prejudiced.
When you say the season is important for PSG, it sounds like they are the only team that needs it more but not so many teams need the Champions League and PSG is one of the teams. Juventus will battle this season to get to the final same as City who lost their dream of going to the final after a very good performance from them. So this season, I think PSG will do everything possible to get to the final or probably win the Champions League that's if they succeed in stopping other teams that are also looking forward to winning it. I believe you made a mistake by stating that the new PSG coach Galtier is inexperienced, you can edit your post and correct your mistake so that everyone who read through your write-up will not misquote you. No I'm not saying like PSG are the only team that need the Champions League title. I meant that they have a great squad now but they still haven't been able to win a single title in this tournament with these wonderful players. Their main target is winning the CL title now in the end as the Ligue 1 is easy for them. In addition, I don't think I made a mistake by saying that Galtier is inexperienced. The biggest teams he worked with as the manager were Nice and Lille before coming here. I know that he won the Ligue 1 title with Lille and it is a good success. But this doesn't show that he is the right person for this team. A team like PSG deserve a manager who has a great career full of championships. |

Indeed Benzema still seems to be strong this season as well. I liked his performance against Frankfurt. His contribution to the team is going to be very important again as Real Madrid haven't signed a new centre-forward. They are going to rely on him there again. However not only him of course. Vinicius Jr will also play a big role like in the previous season. These two players made a really strong duo the last time and the fans will be expecting to see it again.

Because Tottenham seem more solid than them considering the matches of the first week. When it comes to the head-to-heads between teams like this, things can change of course. For example it has been a very long time since Tottenham defeated Chelsea in the PL last. But I would rather bet on both teams to score rather than a side.
What? based on the head to head Chelsea mostly won against Tottenham and the match will held on Chelsea's home, so it's make sense why Chelsea is the favorited club. But IMO currently Chelsea performance is quite decrease then their past, I think I would bet for draw since I see the chance. Maybe it would be ended 1-1 or 2-2 considering how Tottenham have better striker, while Chelsea have better defender. I already stated the head-to-head matches mate. Tottenham can't defeat Chelsea here for a long time which is a psychological advantage for Chelsea of course. Bookmakers are doing the right thing by showing Chelsea as the favourite because the statistics is the most important thing for them. However we are at the beginning of the season now and it is hard to predict what can happen in a match like this. We will see which side is really readier than the other. |

Chelsea can finish up the signing of Frenkie de Jong for 80 million euros reportedly. Barcelona are indeed desperate about fixing their wage condition now. They wouldn't be willing to lose one of their important players normally but it looks like there is nothing else to do about it. They are hoping some of their players to take a wage cut but I don't think all of those players would be okay for that. Selling de Jong might be a solution for them now.

On the next week of the season I think that Monaco - Rennes match is an attracting one. These two teams fought with each other for the positions in top four last season. They both had a really good run too. Looking at this season, I see that Monaco started nicely when Rennes didn't. Rennes lost to Lorient in a home match. They might still have something to figure out and Monaco can turn this into an advantage. Monaco have the advantage psychologically too as they defeated Rennes two times in the league last season. I think they will win again.

I assume that Juventus aren't going for any player except Kostic now. I still doubt that the current squad is enough for them. They need an improvement in the midfield especially as Pogba is injured and Rabiot is about to sign for Manchester United. If they don't do this they might have problems there again. Allegri must be targeting to win the league title this time. But in this way they might still stay behind teams like Inter and Milan.
