61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Solana hit $40 this year? on: September 05, 2023, 04:08:13 PM
Visa recently announced that they are utilizing Solana for USDC settlement with acquirers Worldpay and Nuvei. https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/09/05/visa-taps-solana-and-usdc-stablecoin-to-boost-cross-border-payments/

Visa, one of the key tradfi payment networks, choosing Solana as one of its stablecoin settlement options speaks a lot about the chain capability for cheap and fast transactions. However, due to the current market condition, the price is barely moving LOL. It's only up by 4% and there was no instant price action in the first 30 minutes or so. In a bull market, this announcement would have made 50% price swing Cheesy

62  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Discussion] Bitcoin Spot ETFs on: September 04, 2023, 02:06:36 PM
So now with them missing the first deadline, the next one will be next Month (the 17th of October). Your thoughts on this? The good, the bad, the odds of getting approved?
I agree with the overall market sentiment. After the SEC v GBTC court decision, I think the approval is inevitable at this point, just a question of when. The sooner the better but I guess most people already expect the SEC to delay until the final deadline in 2024.

The good side as everyone expects is fresh money coming to bid Bitcoin again, reviving this market that has been down only (price and volume) for almost two years Cheesy

We all know ETFs are not going to be accepted anytime soon, or I am wrong about all of us because I have this idea that they will approve the ETFs after the halving of BTC because after halving a small dip comes and they might want to accumulate more BTC there too, so in that plan they will not approve the ETF.
Yeah, the close timing between spot ETF approval and halving would be a monumental catalyst. Although I don't think the halving will come before the ETF decision final deadline.

Vitality are the heavy favorites in their later match today too. So we will see if they can defeat Movistar Riders.
Vitality took the first map rather comfortably (16-10). I expect them to crush Movistar on the second map as Movistar almost never played Inferno. On the other hand, it's one of Vitality's best maps.

FURIA are looking wobbly against Grayhounds and they were heavy favorites prematch @1.08x
For the group A last match, I'm going to bet against FURIA again. Agree, their first map against Grayhound didn't inspire confidence at all.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull Run within Q4 of 2024? on: September 03, 2023, 02:54:37 PM
It Isn't possible for tell the adject time when bull session will start but as this is speculation sector, you can feel free to share your prediction about it. Now let me guess! Meanwhile i google about Btc halving and it shows, April 26, 2024.  And if so, then it is possible that bull will within some months after halving occurred. That means possible time could be within 2024? Or 2025? What is your thought? Note: Invest wtih your own responsibility.
I'd like to think that we can see better market condition starting in Q1/Q2 2024, where Bitcoin halving will coincide with the Bitcoin ETF decision deadlines from the SEC. Hopefully these two events can be the catalyst to start another bullish market.

If it doesn't, well, I'm afraid we won't experience it again for a long time. At least not until the fear of recession is over.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What site to check for historical prices? on: September 03, 2023, 09:26:50 AM
Wait you mean I can just go to binance site and click on trading view to do this?  When I do that, it seem I can only go back 1 month max though?  I no longer have a binance account.

When I clicked on the custom date, I could go back to 2022.  The issue though is I wouldn't be able to check the price of the coin hourly though?  It seems to only go from one day to the next.
You can only fetch the last 1000 bars with a free TradingView account. If you want hourly data from years ago you'll need the upgraded/paid TradingView account.

So is there a way to check for that on binance?  Like say January 3, 2022 at 8am USA West Coast time compared to say 5pm USA West Coast time.
Yes, using the chart directly from Binance website ("Original" chart), you can get even the 1-minute chart, but then again it's limited to Binance data.

I believe you can access other exchange data for free from their platform as well.

Also how you know what time zones these sites use?  Tradingview uses different from binance right?  Tradingview is USA time but which time zone?  Binance is asia time zone right and which time zone?
You can select your desired timezone in TradingView (bottom right in the picture from my previous post). Not sure how to do it in Binance though, seems it's set to my local timezone.

66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What site to check for historical prices? on: September 03, 2023, 08:55:29 AM
Okay.  For example say you want to find the exact price of a coin such as dash or maker to make it simple and say on January 3, 2022.
You need a proper charting tool for this. As Jossiel said, you can use https://www.tradingview.com/chart/. Not all data will be available in the free plan though, you'll need to upgrade your membership to access it.

Here's one example for DASH/USDT price in Binance at 8 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, January 3, 2022, using a paid TradingView account.

Or if you want to do it freely just use exchange data directly. AFAIK you can access all-time price data from the chart in the Binance dashboard. The drawback of this method is there's only that specific exchange data, e.g. Binance data, as opposed to all markets when you use a service like TradingView.

Quite an interesting week of ESL Pro League Season 18 this week with Furia beating NiP 2-0 and reaching the lower finals against Astralis today. I am a huge fan of the Brazilians and always enjoy see FalleN playing again. They are the underdogs today, but I am still going to make a small bet on them today @2.40 it would be a nice payout if they advance. Since Furia beat NiP and Astralis lost to NiP this season there is definitely hope for the Brazilians to win today.
Same, betting for FURIA too. Took some beatings betting against them yesterday on the NIP match LOL Cheesy

For the other match, I'm going with NIP again. Hopefully, they won't let me down this time.

while watching Astralis destroy Furia later  Roll Eyes
It'll be the other way around Wink

Huge upset in esl pro league today, as movistar again win 2-0 beating GL. I was really confident on GL and they dont even win a map  Huh

Esl pro league is the hardest csgo tourn to bet on for me Sad
Yeah they've been playing so well in EPL, dominant 2-0 against FURIA and GamerLegion. Can't wait to see them playing against Vitality, the odds is stacked against them at the moment (7.40) Cheesy

My bets for today. Hoping for an upset from GamerLegion against Astralis.

69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 31, 2023, 01:30:01 PM
I am betting on the favorites except on the FURIA vs Movistar. I am not convinced yet that this new lineup could compete in a top-tier tournament and there might be a chance for Movistar to take this.
Nailed the Movistar upset. They won a comfortable 2-0 against FURIA yesterday.

Not many interesting matches today, I think most of them will be one-sided (Vitality & Astralis). Also picking GamerLegion to win against Movistar, although this one might be close.

Finally, another CSGO match! My picks for EPL S18 group A opening matches. I am betting on the favorites except on the FURIA vs Movistar. I am not convinced yet that this new lineup could compete in a top-tier tournament and there might be a chance for Movistar to take this.

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: August 28, 2023, 02:37:45 PM
I can't imagine that binance will continue to maintain leadership in the cryptocurrency market and all these regulations that are increasing day by day. Regulations will make it difficult for a highly liquid cryptocurrency platform to offer an optimal trading experience while complying with all regulatory legislation.
If you're unsure about Binance's position in the future, which platform do you think might take over the crypto trading landscape? Maybe another exchange, e.g. Coinbase, or could DEXes become more prominent?

While I agree that Binance is facing a lot of regulatory hurdles right now, I don't think it'll lose its dominance as a CEX unless CZ makes massive fraud like SBF did with FTX/Alameda. Cheesy
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 27, 2023, 02:51:00 PM
I can't watch Manchester City vs Sheffield United anymore, completely one sided game and Sheffield United has no chance to reach Manchester City's defenders, after 70 minutes they've not made any shoot. Even though Manchester City win with big margin against Burnley, but Burnley was able to compete and made few shots. Props to Wesley Foderingham since he have made good saves.

You jinxed it! Literally just minutes after you made this post Sheffield scored a goal Cheesy A bad backheel from Walker in the penalty box made City lose the ball and then Bogle made the shot. What a blunder from City.

Edit: Thankfully Rodri scored another goal for City quickly after. Now City is back leading with 2-1.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: August 27, 2023, 11:01:04 AM
Isn't the SEC's decision over BlackRock's ETF scheduled next week? I believe it is.
Yeah, the first deadline for BlackRock's ETF is set for September 2, 2023. However, it seems like everybody is already expecting that the SEC might opt for yet another delay like they did with the ARK/21Shares ETF. We might have to wait until the final deadline, i.e. next year, for the decision.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OnlyFans owner collects $45 million as dividends because of ETH investment on: August 27, 2023, 08:12:34 AM
OnlyFans invested some of its profits in Ethereum. As a result, they have collected over $45 million as dividends so far. Very cool strategy I think and more companies should follow this to increase they revenue and  profits. What is your opinion about this ?

https://www.standard.co.uk/business/onlyfans-owner-collects-485-million-in-dividends-invests-in-ethereum-after-revenues-top-1-billion-cryptocurrency-b1102770.html
Surprisingly smart move there, and it could actually be a boost for the whole crypto scene. More companies are starting to realize that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are solid investments and can hold value well. A few years ago it was just MicroStrategy making all the noise about them buying millions of Bitcoin. Now, others are joining in, even if they're not throwing in as much money as Saylor. The crypto market could definitely use some fresh funds, especially after taking hits from defaults and frauds like FTX. These new investments from companies outside the crypto space might be just the thing it needs.

On a different note, I'm kinda amazed that OF has an annual revenue of over a billion dollars with a profit margin of over 50%. What a business.

I'll watch some Asian CSGO instead. Here we have the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Qualifier (5E Arena Asia Cup Fall 2023). These BO1, pug-like games usually have a high chance of upset so I'm throwing some bets to the underdogs.
Welp, didn't work out. I'm going to continue betting on this event though, especially since one of the teams today (NKT) has one Indonesian player (BnTeT). It's going to be a tough match against The Mongolz but I'll root for him regardless Cheesy

On the higher-tier tournament today I'll bet on the Pari Dunav Party matches.

ESL Pro League Season 18 is starting next week with Group A games on Wednesday.
Can't wait for EPL! This weekend we had no big CSGO event and it feels empty.

Vitality is directly playing again in the first round against Orks, a team that I am not really familiar with and I don't think there is any chance for Vitality to be losing the best of 3 match.
I would say Vitality should breeze past through their group. No real contenders there, the closest one being Astralis, which I think Vitality wouldn't have a hard time beating on a BO3. And maybe they'll face GamerLegion in the group upper final, but that should be an easy one too.

Due to the lack of tier-one events, I'll watch some Asian CSGO instead. Here we have the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown Qualifier (5E Arena Asia Cup Fall 2023). These BO1, pug-like games usually have a high chance of upset so I'm throwing some bets to the underdogs.

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is exchange based tokens worth for hold? on: August 26, 2023, 07:43:41 AM
As an investor, i bought so many exchange based tokens! Bnb, uniswap, kucoin (kcs), cake, houbi (ht),  FTP and so on. Undoubtedly those exchangers are so big and reputable. I though those altcoins will pump if exchange get larger during time and if exchange add more pair with their altcoin on their platform, then price will boom but most of those are like shitcoin, dumped 70-80℅ in long run except bnb. So what do you think? I'm no longer going to invest any exchange coin anymore!

Exchange tokens' prices drop significantly when cryptocurrency trading activity slows down, like we're experiencing right now. If you bought them at higher prices last year, well tough luck. I think it's performance will still be highly correlated to the overall crypto market trend. So, if you think the crypto market will go up again in the near future, getting exchange tokens could be a way to profit from that.

That said, I wouldn't recommend buying tokens like BNB and HT. They have risky legal and regulatory problems. I can't count how many Binance and Justin Sun FUD we had in these last few months. Smaller exchanges like Kucoin might not be a good idea either. I'm personally more interested towards investing in Coinbase stock ($COIN). It's a public company with transparent financials and a leading position in navigating regulatory challenges in the US. With their recent expansion into international derivative exchanges and the launch of the Base chain, Coinbase stock has become even more appealing. It's definitely an asset I'm looking to accumulate during this bear market. But for individuals like me who aren't US citizens, purchasing this stock might be challenging.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any thoughts on Friend(dot)tech circulating now on Twitter? on: August 21, 2023, 02:18:31 PM
As far as the title goes, surely some of you have noticed this trend about the social thing on friend tech. Lots of influencers have gaining extra money and eth upon creation of their profile which were bought by other people and collecting massive fees on trading and the value it gives them. Ive tried it out to see how it goes and it really favors CT and influencers that are famous. What are your thoughts on this? Ive seen some doing a quick buck trading as well. Its like a systematic nft trading but with the use of profile as commodity.

Not sure the trend will stay strong as some are just making money when the price rise up already and sold. Wanted to know anyones opinions. Or does anyone also try it already?
Ya, this is mostly for influencers and bots. My profile shares were instantly bought by bots the moment I registered. I can see why they're botting it though, buying some influencers' shares early and cheap is guaranteed profit. Guess we need to find some hidden gems among CT profiles Cheesy

I think it still has a lot of room to grow, i.e. we're early, I haven't seen many non-CT influencers and they haven't launched the token yet. But I think it won't be sustainable, 2-3 months of hype at best.

They have a point system which updated every friday but not sure what this for, could be an airdrop thing.
Points system and backed by Paradigm? Of course they're gonna have a token Cheesy

I guess ENCE's luck stops here huh. I thought they would have gotten another 2-0 after winning the 1st map
Yeah, ENCE dominated Vitality on that 1st map I thought they had it. Can't count anymore how many 2nd places they had recently, really need to work out how to close games in grand finals Cry Congrats on the win!
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 20, 2023, 07:05:16 AM

If only we had made -1.5 on all ENCE's games then we would have gotten decent profit by now lol. ENCE odds of winning were high though so the -1.5 option would have been great

Yeah lol didn't expect that at all. It would be an absolute dominance if ENCE can win the whole tournament without dropping a map, though very unlikely given how Vitality is near prime too.

The payout for Vitality is lower with only @1.7 and they lost against ENCE in the IEM Cologne tournament, but I am still going to go with Vitality for the match today. ENCE might deserve the win, but so does flameZ, he played really well on Mirage yesterday and carried his team alone against G2. Such a young talented player also deserves to win a big tournament.
FlameZ, Zywoo, and Magisk are playing consistently well in this tournament so far, all three averaging above 1.2 ratings. If everyone can show up like yesterday it'll be another banger (hopefully). Well then, good luck everyone!
