Is anyone else having trouble sending XMR from https://wallet.mymonero.com/?

Keep getting the following error message 'An error occurred while submitting transaction: Error: Transaction rejected: invalid input'

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this issue?

Have you already contacted their support?

Yes I've tried to contact them through telegram but no luck. Do you know how I can contact their support team directly?

Try emailing them at:

Hi again.

I did a few more test.

First I scan also installer from version 0.15.0.1 (which I am using now without problems). Main computer: no virus. Backup computer: virus!. Humm...

Also I use virustotal.com for both files. Both have half a dozen virus detected, but no GREAT virus (most of them coinminer or related things).

I am "almost sure" it is a false positive.

Last question: when a sofware wallet is compromised, is it shown as a virus?. I think no, just a few routines to send out seeds or make transactions must not be detected virus. Am I right?. Last compromised monero wallet, was detected by antivirus?

I am not really a newbie, but prefer to ask. You know... I read about to check the hash of the downloaded files, but procedure seems a bit complicated to me. I think we need something easier for this...

Thanks to all.

NOTE: only thing that differs my both computers (hardware excluded) is backup PC is running an unregistered version of Windows 10. No idea if this is related to different behavior of Defender.

You can safely ignore the warning as long as you properly verify the GPG signed hashes:

Thereafter, you can apply this guide to ensure the AV software does not delete required files:

Hi,

can someone explain me, how XMR prevents double spend if there is no public ledger available? Smiley

I store my XMR on a Ledger Nano S.

I have changed my laptop. So I have reinstalled the GUI and have downloaded the blockchain on the new laptop.

When opening the GUI for the first time, I connect my Ledger Nano S and I have choosed "create a new wallet from hardware".

Now there are the "Daemon is synchronized" and "Wallet is synchronized" advancement bars that are completed, the Network status is "Connected" but my balance is 0 and I have no transaction history.

Why is that? Huh

Could you try this guide?

Are there any stable multisignature wallets available for XMR?

Have you tried the official CLI wallet?

[2] For the withdrawal, are you trying to use an address that starts with an 8?

at first in my wallet app next to receive I was using the primary address listed as #0 and the first number was a 4.

but eventually i decided to click the little plus next to "create new address" and i named it test so it reads as #1test and does begin with an 8.

to be clear I now have a #0 primary that starts with 4 and #1 test that starts with 8. however both give me the same error result on the pool's monero wallet page "Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address" when i try to add either

The primary address (that starts with a 4) should work. Can you check whether the address you paste on the mining pool is valid? You can use this tool:

https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html

check address says
Yes! This is a valid Standard XMR address. (in green txt)
maybe I'll wait a week and try to add the address again i guess.

That indicates you are using a valid address. Have you tried contacting the pool's support?

earlier today i made a post in the help section
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5206319.0

but someone suggested Id have better luck here.

I upgraded my wallet to 0.15.0.1 on the 30th.  But I don't know if the upgrade was supposed to give me a new receiving addy because i still have the same one and it no longer seems to be working on miningpoolhub.com. I can no longer add the characters I receive from my wallet's primary addy under receive.

the pool has this posted
Quote
- Monero hardforked. Update your miner as it needs new algo named RandomX Learn more
New monero doesn't support payment id type address anymore. (If you inserted address with dot before, then you are using payment id address type)
Monero payouts are resumed. XMR related auto exchanges are paused as Bittrex does not accept XMR deposits and withdrawals yet.
but i dont know what they are asking for

Id like to withdraw the xmr from my acc but im not sure what miningpoolhub wants me to copy paste into the payment address box because the line of characters the wallet provides, which is the same as before i upgraded btw,  generates the "Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address" when i try an add it.

any advice, suggestions to try would be greatly appreciated
TIA

[1] The wallet address won't change during an upgrade.

[2] For the withdrawal, are you trying to use an address that starts with an 8?

This fork is some kind of joke? After 12 hours network hashrate only grow up and difficulty too. Another scam for private fpga miners/botnets.

Pretty sure there isn't a FPGA for RandomX. What we are seeing is a ton of CPUs hitting it, and pretty hard. Guess all those Ryzen and Threadrippers are having a good day. Profit went down considerably throughout the day.

Are you kidding? How they can have  "good day" if quantity of miners is growing up and difficalty too? They can mine same amount with previous algo. Brainless fork.

Hashrate per unit of energy expended is significantly higher for RandomX. That's why the hashrate and difficulty are increasing.

If the file can be compromised then presumably they could compromise the hash too.

Verification of the file against Fluffypony's GPG key would fail though.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 25, 2019, 12:41:20 PM

The hashes.txt file is present on the downloads page.
"Page" sounds like a website.
Again, where exactly is this hashes.txt file?

See the link elrippos friend posted. The link is displayed on the downloads page.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 24, 2019, 06:46:49 PM
I use linux 64 bit cli only.
Going through the ridiculously complicated verification procedure now.
Just finished section 3.2 of these instructions:
https://src.getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/verification-allos-advanced.html
Section 4, download and verify binary, directs you to get the file via command line
Code:
wget -O monero-linux-x64-v0.12.0.0.tar.bz2 https://downloads.getmonero.org/cli/linux64
But after executing the command, I notice it's version 12.0.0.  So is the correct command actually
Code:
wget -O monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2 https://downloads.getmonero.org/cli/linux64
?
And where did the file go, if it's not in the downloads folder?
I just did the point-and-click download of the cli file from the getmonero.org website
and monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2 appears in the downloads folder.
So I am going to go back and do the command
Code:
wget -O monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2 https://downloads.getmonero.org/cli/linux64
continue following the instructions, and hope for the best I suppose.
Code:
a@galliumos:~$ shasum -a 256 monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2
8d61f992a7e2dbc3d753470b4928b5bb9134ea14cf6f2973ba11d1600c0ce9ad  monero-linux-x64-v0.15.0.1.tar.bz2
a@galliumos:~$
And now the instructions say
Your SHA256 hash should match the one listed in the hashes.txt file for your binary file.

Where is this file?  Yeah, I'm going to look for it, but I shouldn't have to.
Ok, scrolling back, I see that in step 3.1 I downloaded hashest.txt
It's not in downloads.  Where is it, or is somebody going to imply that I'm simply stupid for not having the answer?
I'm starting to get annoyed, and I've been involved with this coin since the very beginning, spring 2014.
Somebody needs to make monero usable or nobody's ever going to adopt this coin except total freaking nerdheads who live in bubbles.

Okay, since I don't know where my hashes.txt file is, I go to getmonero.org to see the hash for 15.0.1 linux cli only.  It matches the result of the shasum command, so I guess it's safe to continue.
Just one little problem.  The zip in downloads is the one I downloaded from getmonero.org through the browser.  Where is the binary that I downloaded through the cli?
Ah, I see it's in the home directory (along with 12.0.0 that I downloaded as a result of naively copy-pasting the command in the instructions, and which a less alert person might have installed unthinkingly LOL).
And of course another stupid mistake I could make would be to use the zip which is in the downloads folder, and isn't actually verified.

So there you have a narrative of what happens when a normal human being attempts to RTFM and use monero properly.  It's not a pretty picture.

You don't necessarily have to use wget to download the binaries. Put differently, you can simply download the file (.tar.bz2 for Linux 64-bit in your case) from the website.

The hashes.txt file is present on the downloads page. You need to save the content to a text file on your local system.

You should check the hashes.txt file against Fluffypony's GPG key. Merely checking the SHA256 hash is not sufficient, as an adversary could replace that.

Admittedly, the guide could use an update. That being said, there is a limit to how easy verifying the GPG signed hashes can be made. However, moneromooo is working on a secure updater/installer for Monero, see:

@ https://web.getmonero.org/downloads/ for some reason GUI release confusingly enough labeled as "Current Version: 0.14.1.0 Carbon Chamaeleon" - which I presume is a mistake

GUI v0.15 has not been released yet, it is forthcoming.

Thank you, done. Would you guys do us a favor. Everytime i update my server, i have to follow the link https://downloads.getmonero.org/cli/linux64 and then rename the file through wget -cO. Would you be so kind to save the file or the symlink with the actual name/version of the file, that would be great, thanks  Grin

Have you tried using the direct download link (see linked thread)?

Yes, then i get a 404 error on the server, unfortunately....

I get a error for a payment
Code:
Error: Unerwarteter Fehler:boost::too_many_args: format-string referred to fewer arguments than were passed
to XMR.to.
I enter the transfer argument via c&p, then the wallet password, and then i get this error. You know that one?

EDIT: Just skipped to 14.1.0, no problems at all. I am running the monerod with the --prune-blockchain argument

Which specific command are you using to transfer funds? Simply the transfer one? And are you passing additional arguments?

P.S. If you think it is an actual bug, could you please open a new issue on the Monero Github repository? That will ensure the bug will get fixed swiftly.

I am using
Code:
transfer <address> <ammount>
as proposed by XMR.to without any additional arguments, System running on 64bit 16.04 Ubuntu, monerod running in --prune-blockchain argument on monerod 15.0.0. Same on binaries 14.1.0 without any issues.
Before i file a bugreport i just want to check if i made a mistake or if i am missing anything?

As far as I can see, that is the proper command. Thus, please file a bug report.

Done --> https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/6136

Thanks!
