Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation

My XMR is 95% cold storage, but I try to keep the rest of my crypto roughly balanced between BTC and XMR, and conservatively make market or rarely speculate in a small way.
I was trying to resolve to refrain from the market, to save time for other endeavours, but the movements were so attractive... speculation is a bad habit - when reinforced by occasional rewards it is like mental crack.
I have pretty well given up on restricting myself to a fixed maximum share of market cap. It's so much easier to distribute coins than it is to acquire them... Why worry about distribution?
Anyhow I think the demand energy is close to breaking out. Can it wait until Friday this week? I am beginning to doubt it. It's only showing up in deep book bids right now, but the spring is coiling... When bear talk begins to dominate, in a long-term accumulating market, it can't be long before an impulsive move.
Note that most of the decline is due to big shorts market selling, which subsequently results in traders panicking on Poloniex. In addition, these shorters put up asks to make it look like there is a lot of supply. It's highly likely our bearwhale (the sell wall guy) took a new strategy and is simply market dumping now. Bear in mind that shorts have to buy back eventually, thereby providing additional liquidity to the market.

Could you try transfer_new instead of transfer? The remainder of the command is the same.
I used transfer_new with mixin_count from 2 to 8 and I got: Error: failed to find a suitable way to split transactions transfer_new 0 Error: not enough money to transfer, available only 4.071798228705, transaction amount 4.930000000000 = 3.000000000000 + 1.930000000000 (fee) In the second case at least (and at last) transfer see the same balance as "balance" command. Unfortunately 1.93 XMR of fee for transferring just only 3 XMR is somewhat ridiculus... Over 63% of the transaction amount. Have you really utilized the sweep_unmixable command? Because from your logs it seems like you have a lot of (possibly unmixable) small inputs, which results in a high fee. In addition, did you mine to this wallet?

Thanks dEBRUYNE. I was able to send some XMR using higher mixin_count. I have also swept unmixable. To check balance, type "balance" into simplewallet. From your output it shows that you probably have a lot of dust. You might want to undust this first with the sweep_unmixable command.
I can't understand however the discrepancy between "balance" shown by balance command and "money available to transfer". Please look at this example: [wallet 48KCoY]: balance Balance: 4.071798228705, unlocked balance: 4.071798228705 [wallet 48KCoY]: transfer 4 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGRoyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB 1 4f6862f49ab77c19043f668b8f1c25a274ed4c57ca36704e1259b3816c2187c1 Error: not enough money to transfer, available only 0.130000000000, transaction amount 1.000000000000 = 1.000000000000 + 0.000000000000 (fee) Does it mean I have 0.13 XMR available to transfer and 3.941798229 of unavailable? What shell I do with unavailable? Can I check "available to transfer" balance before I attempt to make a transfer and it fails? Could you try transfer_new instead of transfer? The remainder of the command is the same.

I am experiencing issues with Monero transfer from my wallet. It looks like so: [wallet 48KCoY]: balance Balance: 7.831798228705, unlocked balance: 7.831798228705 [wallet 48KCoY]: transfer 0 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGRoyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB 5 4f6862f49ab77c19043f668b8f1c25a274ed4c57ca36704e1259b3816c2187c1 Error: not enough money to transfer, available only 1.013080414777, transaction amount 1.075000000000 = 0.625000000000 + 0.450000000000 (fee)
I reduce the amount to 1 XMR. I am sure that amount I have and: [wallet 48KCoY]: transfer 0 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGRoyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB 1 4f6862f49ab77c19043f668b8f1c25a274ed4c57ca36704e1259b3816c2187c1 Error: transaction <7c7c87b81186ab01b1d7a5dd6a2e57216f4eb578cd4e50cc27eee08f5a4f4a3b> was rejected by daemon with status: Failed Error: Reason: mixin too low
How to check what is my actual balance? What did I do wrong? Mixon 0 is not allowed anymore, unless you are "undusting" dust with sweep_unmixable. Use the following command: transfer 4 47sghzufGhJJDQEbScMCwVBimTuq6L5JiRixD8VeGbpjCTA12noXmi4ZyBZLc99e66NtnKff34fHsGRoyZk3ES1s1V4QVcB 1 4f6862f49ab77c19043f668b8f1c25a274ed4c57ca36704e1259b3816c2187c1 To check balance, type "balance" into simplewallet. From your output it shows that you probably have a lot of dust. You might want to undust this first with the sweep_unmixable command.
