Sure has been a few crazy weeks for crypto ... I got used to 'point and mine', with the miners usually staying on a particular coin for some time. Now it's a lot more exciting

Hopefully Bitawn will be able to get us another group buy...fingers crossed.. Just registering my interest, if there is another GB, I'm in.

agree on the RX 470 but not on Sapphire. out 50 24 cards have been leeking cooling ooil on the RX 470 4Gb Nitros
I also have suffered from leaking oil on 8gb Sapphire Nitros, they work fine, but doesn't make them look too attractive for resale when you want to upgrade.

Since flypool is stabile enough i didn't set epools file for failover pools but i decided to do that just to guarantee mining nonstop. After that, i get this error in red text at the beginning of miner start : "no address specified - ignore". It seems it's not a problem since i'm mining with no problem whatsoever. I checked my epools.txt, it seems in order but maybe i'm missing something. I'm just curious what creates that error?
I've had that a couple of times as well: "no address specified - ignore". I did just that and ignored it ... all is well. My conclusion was it failed to connect to fly pool first time round, and then connected OK when it retried. Version 1.1 stable so far after an hour.

Thanks Claymore ... my results for 10 mins work:
Rig 1) 4 x RX470 (All 8gb) = 159 sols in total Rig 2) 4 x R7 370 (All 4gb) = 126 sols in total
Rig 1 locked up, but restarted and all seems OK so far ...
Now to see if I can do any tweaking on power usage, although it is well below what Ethereum used.

Today I tried existing miners, I don't like their stability and speed. Ok, I will release first version of my ZCash miner very soon. AMD only.
Good news, and thanks Claymore ... So far on Win7 I can only get the Nicehash miner to work out of all the current offerings. The rig has 4 Nitro RX470 cards, but using more than 3 just crashes the rig.

So the pool is down .... "Major issue with geth. Network seems to be under a DOS attack!" the page says.
Wonder if our hashes are still being accounted for?
Time will tell ...

Right out of the gate install Trixx and hit the power tune slider and take it down until you start to affect the hash rate and apply and save it. That will knock a chunk out of the power consumption. Then go back and start tweaking the vbios.
Thanks guys ... Trixx did the trick ... but doesn't always seem to keep all the settings when saved After some playing ... the rig is set to: Fans at 60% (av. temp 57c), Power Limit -35%, Memory Clock at 12100 ... power dropped by 200W and sitting stable at 600W with all 4 cards hashing at 97M/hs ... so only 1 M/hs slower for 200W saving. (6.19W per M/hs). I've been mining BTC on ASICS for the last few years, so getting to grips with the world of GPU mining. ... I'll see if I can make any more power savings. (Also have another 4 card rig, same hardware spec. except running x4 MSI R7 370 4gb cards slightly overclocked at 52M/hs drawing 500W, so 9.62W per M/hz isn't looking so attractive now).

Got a 4 card RX470 Sapphire Nitro rig built this week: Asrock Anniversary Z97 Mobo with 8gb RAM, 120gb SSD, 1000W Corsair HX1000 PSU. x4 RX470 Sapphire Nitro 8gb GPUs on USB risers. Windows 7. AMD driver version 16.300.0.0 Claymore’s miner, mining ETH only. All running stock speeds without any over clocking at 98Mh/s (24.5Mh/s per card). Mobo only (no monitor allowed for) - using 80 watts. Add 3 cards and it sucks in 600W … and a fourth card and it’s up to just over 800W. The power draw looks too high to me, thought the cards should be about 150W each. Any ideas to reduce the power usage on this would be welcome …

Such a shame ... at one time you had a voice on this forum Guy, but now all you quote are URLs. Time and time again. zzzz ...

Kano congrats on your 500th block on your pool!
Congrats for sure, a 'cool pool' thanks Kano (+CK) ... and over those 500 blocks the luck average has now increased to 106%. AMAZING ... Never seen that before on a pool before ... keep weaving the 'code' magic. Devon

And another block

Maybe I can pull the cable signal amplifiers off now.
For sure, mining over stratum needs nothing like those numbers ... the load is really very, very low.

kano.is has been a long known gem for the few, but not the many since it started. Propogation of the fact is spreading recently however.

YEP ... the force has been strong recently ... nice to see the 'blocks' screen showing two currently being confirmed at the same time - second time in a week

network difficulty, ~72,700,000,000 right now
AMAZING ... years ago when I started with GPU mining ...never thought I'd see that figure mentioned Sorry - off topic - but a reminder of where we are today.

Why did SP take this deal? If they needed money, take preorders on the SP50. They had a ton of goodwill they could have cashed in.
It sounds like anything would have been better than SP getting together with these guys.
It's called greed .. and shareholder pressure ... RIP. Left me thinking the goodwill might have been carefully fabricated?

Thanks for the info guys, good luck to him. Times are a moving on ...
... Off topic I guess .. throwing the thread back to the SP50 ...

/ super tech support guy (Zvi). When you lose one of your allstars its always a challenge to replace.
Anyone know where he went? For sure he was a good tech.
