This is why it is time for new exchanges, decentralized so no government can lock it down.

64  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin investment [Please Read] on: August 10, 2013, 11:58:35 AM
well i assume the difficulty is going up too fast right now.. mining with newly ordered and not yet delivered  equipment (even asics) might not be profitable anymore in the future
65  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu has closed down. A new secure site Bitalo.com is coming soon. on: August 06, 2013, 11:14:08 PM
well, we are still working hard :-) Unfortunately we cannot give any official statements now, but all security concepts are in place, all design and website layout is ready. We still need to handle some minor issues, but we made good progress last week. We hope to announce more information soon

67  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the Bitcoin ecosystem sane? on: July 30, 2013, 10:28:30 AM
Well, bitcoin means different things to many people.

As from my side:

1) I support the idea strongly from political level, so i just keep mining, no matter if is profitable or not, i also kept mining full speed when the price was 2 USD.

2) I use it to "hide" money, not really from the government, but mainly from banks. I like to have my assets at hand, for that also dont care much about the actual bitcoin price

3) Using it to purchase stuff is also a cool thing. When i do not buy food or pay the rent i for example when i buy stuff online I always use bitcoin so I can get my software codes immediately

4) In private life I use bitcoin to send money to relatives, use them as wedding or christmas present, donate it to cool websites/stuff and even go to a restaurant that accepts bitcoin

5) Of course it is also speculation. When I assume that the price drops I would sell some. When I assume the price goes up again I will buy more, thats all natural. But I always stick to my basic rule: Never sell all your bitcoins.

So bottom line, yes there is lots of speculation, but Bitcoin has far more to offer, it is a well-connected community and many people all over the world accept bitcoin for various things.

But if you wait till the supermarkt next door accepts bitcoin, this will never happen. But better ask yourself: Who accepts Gold? The supermarket? Can you pay your rent in gold?? No! But it still is an accepted asset that also fluctuates in price and lot of speculation is involved.

i am quite sure you chose the 10% option
69  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu has closed down. A new secure site Bitalo.com is coming soon. on: July 25, 2013, 07:18:03 AM
sorry i cannot say anything about your case, Maciej is responsible for reimbursements.

But just to explain once again the principle:

When you lost 64 BTC in Dec 2012 this equaled 640 Euros at that time. You have presumably chosen the option "I want 10% immediately refund" solution that equals 64 euros. When you was reimbursed the bitcoin price was somewhere at 84 EUR per bitcion therefore you get about 0.8 BTC with prices from 2013. Since "losses"/demands or whatever are always nominated in Euro or USD a rising bitcoin price will lead to less payouts and vica versa. It is basically the same as if you bought a Butterfly Mining rig for 30.000 USD and paid 2800 bitcoins at that time. When you cancel the order now you would get back 300 bitcoins

71  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 23, 2013, 12:39:59 PM
I just received money from MtGox! This transaction took over 3 months and it is only a small part, BUT: It seems that they are processing (again)

I think I am not eligible for the bounty as it was EUR withdrawal, but just in case: 13edci3KYt2S71mjkPU4X47NkukxJNfGi9 ;-)

Yes, but during summertime it does not prevent us working full time ;-).
Anyway, I personally do no work on the technical development, I dont have any skills for that, but this is why we hired Maciej, so he can dedicate the work full time and reimburse bitmarket.eu users at the same time by not wasting time for other things
73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu has closed down. A new secure site Bitalo.com is coming soon. on: July 13, 2013, 09:31:17 PM
we fully agree to that :-)

We currently have a process development meeting in Kotka (Finland) where we just today finished designing our workflows for the website and clarified all policy questions. We will talk with our designer tomorrow then we would need final implementation and a testing phase.

We are working more or less full time on the site, but our concept is quite heavy and it will take another month till we can start with basic functionality for sure.
74  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu has closed down. A new secure site Bitalo.com is coming soon. on: July 13, 2013, 08:48:26 PM
Well, at least some people took out of this mess the initiative and currently do their best to give the old admin a chance to pay back at least some coins while other are just trolling because of few lost coins. The Bitalo Project is working hard to come closer to the beta start with a really new far reaching and unique "no-trust" security concept.

75  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitMarket.Eu has closed down. A new secure site Bitalo.com is coming soon. on: July 13, 2013, 12:16:55 PM
it was explained multiple times, bitmarket.eu is reimbursing the actual user losses of that date (December 2012) and NOT missed opportunity
