looks like it is back
It is still intermittently broken and holding me back. I saw some PH/s come and go, so I might not be the only one held back by this problem. I think it is a problem with the variable diff. It works for some rigs and yet other instances get a diff that is too high or too low and it never adjusts into place. I couldn't find a way to specify the diff required for the rig or I would just set that. I still haven't had any response from mmpool : not here, not through private message here either, and not via email. It has been quite a while since the pool had a restart I think. But, last time this problem showed up, that was the fix.

Taxes on crypto are getting too complicated and dangerous: https://www.reddit.com/r/tax/comments/9tcnu8/did_i_ruin_my_life_by_trading_crypto/The problems are the following: 1. The tax code for crypto is ambiguous, there is no widely agreed upon way to calculate taxes. 2. When exchanges fail, the trading information is lost, so it can be impossible to calculate trading gains and losses. 3. Accounting fees can be very high for crypto trading, sometimes more than the actual money made. 4. It is possible to owe more in taxes than was actually cashed out. 5. The rules change, and some of those changes are retroactive, so even if taxes are filed correctly today, in future tax collectors can claim that the taxes were not filed correctly and impose arbitrary penalties. Devcoin is worth very little, but the accounting fees and risks are still high. It's a lot of hassle for little gain. Because of this, unfortunately, I am going to resign from devcoin, until taxes are simplified or there's a big tax free cryptocoin jurisdiction, which I don't expect to happen for a long time if ever. I don't want anyone to get in trouble because of something I'm doing or developing. I'll do the accounting for round 94, after that devcoin developers can handle the receiver files however they want. I'm sorry for leaving. I wish there was another way, but I don't see one. Unthinkingbit, You are much revered and much appreciated in the DeVCoin community. Thank you for all of your service to this project for so many years. Since this decision is tax-driven, is it possible you can continue until the end of your current tax year? The additional time will allow us to communicate and vote of the options available for continuation of the receiver file functions. ctya

I am able to use 3334 with a s7ln I will test with a rental
All rentals are working great again today. Whatever problem that was, it appears to be resolved. Lots of connection trouble again today. I rented a couple of rigs and they rolled over to an alternate pool after a few minutes of low hashrate at mmpool. I want to find the next block, but I think this pool needs a restart Still not connecting. I can guess it is not only me since we have only 2 TH/s on this pool now. I tried contacting the pool admin, but I have not received any reply.

I am having a lot of trouble getting rented ant miners to connect today and yesterday. I tried a few on port 3333 and some faster miners on port 3334 without much luck. These normally work very well.
I saw the hash rate jump to the PH/s range for a short while, but then back down again. All of the rented miners are getting low hash rates and eventually dropping the pool. The rig admins are furious with me and asked me to switch pools. However, I would rather mine at mmpool.org with a lower hash rate.
I sent a private message to mmpool here at the Bitcoin forum, but did not see a reply yet. If you know a more reliable way to reach the admin, please inform the admin that it may be time to restart the pool again. Or, do whatever fixes it when it behaves this way.
Cheers!

He has a contact email on mmpool.org/contact Email: You can reach the admins at admin@mmpool.orgI sent an email as well. Thank you

Guys, did the bisq.network delist DVC? I downloaded the latest client today and I can't find it anywhere. From https://docs.bisq.network/exchange/howto/list-asset.htmlInactive assets will be de-listed At each new release we will check whether already-listed assets have been traded in the past 4 months. If this requirement is not met the asset will be removed. The Bisq trade statistics are used as a reference. Removal of an un-traded asset will not be announced outside of normal release notes. Listing the asset again will require a statement about what has changed since the original de-listing, e.g.: links to discussions where demand for the asset is documented, etc. ~ ctya

Also maybe its shareholders might want to bolster their own holdings of things that can be expected to increase in value if DeVCoin increases in value... ... P.S. It occurs to me also that maybe DeVCorp should start selling some of its assets, especially those not greatly based upon DeVCoins, FOR DeVCoins, to try to increase its DeVCoin reserves. ...
How can we help make this happen?

Devtome seems down again this morning for me. Is this just me and if not why is this repeatedly happening?

HORIZON began as a clone of NXT, as I write I do not even know yet whether NXT allows decimals in its own native currency, but given the price per unit of NXT's native currency on exchanges I am thinking it is quite likely that they do. If they do, maybe how they went about it could help figure out how we could modify HORIZON to allow HZ some decimals. Maybe this is something that could be worth offering a bounty for if no one spontaneously tackles the problem out of the goodness of their heart, the size of their bag of HZ, their desire to see DeVCoin work nicely on the HORIZON platform, or some other motive for putting free as in beer into free open source... -MarkM- It sounds like a worthwhile bounty to me. It would be nice to see any open source bounty at this time, in my opinion. - Nova P.S. Merry Yule! Where is the source code?

how do I get on the developer list? Id liketo take more of a developer and or administrator role as I believe in the long term potential of dvc. I write software for a living.
Great! https://github.com/devcoin/core#development-processDevelopment process Developers work in their own repositories and branches, then submit pull requests when they think their feature or bug fix is ready. If it is a simple/trivial/non-controversial change, then one of the Devcoin development team members simply pulls it. If it is a more complicated or potentially controversial change, then the patch submitter will be asked to start a discussion (if they haven't already) on the Devcoin Core Issues page at https://github.com/devcoin/core/issuesThe branch will be accepted if there is broad consensus that it is a good thing. Developers should expect to rework and resubmit patches if the code doesn't match the project's coding conventions (see doc/coding.md) or are controversial. The master branch is regularly built and tested, but is not guaranteed to be completely stable Join in and start closing issues , or opening and closing issues. Develcuy can work with you to get you on the Developer Share list to receive devcoins in exchange for work.

Devcoin.org website has been timing-out since some time yesterday. Today we saw a drastic slowdown in block production after 350897 and again after 350901.
Does anyone have anything to share about these occurrences?
I've seen also that devtome.com is down Sorry for the down time for devcoin.org and devtome.com. We had a stuck backup process that kept taking the server down everytime the backup job was restarted. It seems to be ok now. ctya

Hi all, I am going to Crypto Invest Summit this Monday in Los Angeles. Over 4500 investors will attend. Could anyone give me good idea for me to pitch devcoin? Looking at the difficulty Devcoin is pretty good. What else? Thank you.
Devcoin StrengthsSecurity. You can verify the difficulty at https://chainz.cryptoid.infoDevcoin is more secure against a 51% attack than Bitcoin Cash. It is a verifiable fact. Low transaction fees and quick confirmation times. Due to the consistent mining as a merge mined coin on the bitcoin mining network, the hashrate and confirmation times are pretty stable. The Transaction fees are low. These are the features that made Litecoin successful. However Devcoin is more secure against a 51% attack than Litecoin. It is a verifiable fact. Longevity. Devcoin started in July 2011. You can verify that at https://node1.devcoin.cloud/Devcoin is coming up on block 350,000. Why is that a strength? Because you don't have to guess if this altcoin will survive its first few years. It already has survived for 7 years. It is a verifiable fact. Exchanges. Devcoin is availalble for trading at the Bisq decentralized exchange. You can also trade BTC/DVC at Freiexchange or LTC/DVC + ETH/DVC at Altilly. Earn Devcoins. Devcoin is an ethically inspired project based on the BitCoin crypto-currency and created to help fund open source projects created by writers and software developers. Participants in the DevCoin economy earn DevCoins in proportion to their project development. Writers earn devcoins by writing, developers earn bitcoins by developing, Marketers earn devcoins by Marketing, and Administrators earn devcoins by applying their time and effort to help organize the DevCoin project. Community. These folks are awesome. Kind, Respectful, Smart, Experienced, Generous, Helpful, Welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this community. (Seriously, pat yourselves on the back. You are great.) You will also notice that most of the Devcoin sites are humble, simple, full of information, hype-free, and without advertisement and without the related tracking cookies. We are not here to make advertisement revenue. We are here to support the most ethical cryptocurrency. Devcoin's Future.Bitcoin features and services are almost always right around the corner as more alt-coin communities realize what a great project Devcoin is. From my perspective, experience with other coins lead users to Devcoin. It has been going for 7 years, with some years stronger than other years. Devcoin principles are sound and the coin is well-supported by miners so it has all the staying power it needs. Cheers! ctya
