Update on VeriSwap and Veriums role:
I think the true role of VRM will be a private commodity value storage and I'm actively working on building into VRC and VRM a decentralized p2p private trade between the two. When you go from VRC-VRM no way to trace the trade in the multisig transaction across chains I'm working on. This in addition to Veriums role as part of VRC consensus. So it will be like buying gold with cash, no trace and take it offline (put in vault). VRC->VRM

We accepted VeriCoin in the swap, it is not being used for college, lol, it is being used for development, marketing, infrastructure costs and third party partnerships for VeriCoin and Verium, as described previously. Half of VeriCoin taken in will never be moved and only staked, interest earned can be used from this fund only. All swap participants received their Verium at their associated address. I remember a time when someone said of the Vericoin board "we will NEVER go under 10k sats again" now it's under 2 cent closing in on a penny. It's like the investors got ouniahed for supporting. Some news of something relevant being worked on would be a nice xmas gift the faithful idiots who hold this coin.
A long term community member approached us with a great mainstream use case for VeriCoin and we are partnering with him to develop it. We are in pursuit of trademarking, etc so I can't give any details yet but it's quite exciting and will be a mainstream targeted mobile app using VeriCoin as payment processor. Key part is, this is ultimately not targeted to crypto, it's a mainstream, fun, novel, potentially viral use case with VeriCoin processing transactions under the hood. It's a great idea on it's own and VeriCoin under the hood is perfect for it. Details to follow after trademarking etc is worked out. The marketing campaign has been collecting analytics, designing a campaign and building a marketing resource website to disseminate all marketing materials for official and gorilla marketing campaigns. Tangible work to show soon. |

I think verium will be self fulfilling prophecy, when pairing and anon transactions work through it.
I'm working on final anon transaction form and testing out a private decentralized trade between VeriCoin and Verium as the mechanism. Need to work out a few things to make sure it can work but I think it could be the best, most private and most efficient solution.

Nah, I think the devs finally had the epiphany that I had: that the dual Vericoin/Verium wallet can act as a mixer, and thus the idea for the Verifree TM network was born (capable of complete anonymity with the Veridark TM option)  This is something I have been thinking about since shortly after the idea for pairing the two and now that it's clear zcash has a trusted (trusted setup) encryption mechanism, there is still quite a bit of room for trust-minimized private transactions. We have been working on a different method for a while now but it may all come together with the pairing as well, but still working it out in detail. |

The Verium protocol is working great, the price seems to have found a floor near the margin of profitability, which is what one expects absent excess speculation. The hashrate also found a peak and bounced off a floor at a decent level for cpu mining. Also notice our launch was more decentralized than zcash mining due it being a gpu mineable coin mostly. New wallet will encourage more solomining, further improving security. Next release after upcoming one will be the pairing release and miners can optionally earn VeriCoin as well after that. What about the promotional campaign? It was ico, part of the funds would be spent on promotion, and understand the big development. The community is bitter, I also Promotional campaign has started, will post results and more info as I get it. |

Update on network condition:
So it turns out the VeriFund now has most of the coins of many previous stakers. Because of this we had to change the parameters for the VeriFund staking to accommodate so many stakes going through us and still properly distributing the consensus in the network over time. It turns out the parameters we had while they worked well for the old network dynamic, they don't work great for the new dynamic where many former stakers coins, we are staking. We now have the verifund with the right parameters to continuously stake while maintaining a fair share of the consensus. After some testing with these parameters we will release a new wallet generally that has these same parameters. They are a new more general purpose set of parameters that don't depend on certain network conditions like we had in the past. Since the network consensus dynamic changed post ICO this issue presented itself. It seems we have it all ironed out now and will continue to test these new more general stake parameters. So if all goes well we won't see the kind of network issue like this again. Also the parameters being too specific to the old network dynamic was a bit of a surprise to us which is why we had issues with the last update and why it's taken a little time to get the new more generally applicable parameters ironed out.
