Coin dealers do the same thing on the edges...I also have handled coins that way. Just wash your hands before touching them and it does not leave any marks.
^^^ Yep... the majority of coin graders will also use their fingers and not cotton gloves.

Cotton gloves, while keeping the oils away from coins, also happen to reduce tactile feel and increase the risk of dropping the coin or fumbling around with it more.  Experienced handlers, such as graders and most coin professionals, will pick up and hold coins from the edges.  If properly done, there is no worse for wear and no oils will get onto the coin, and no fingerprints will be left in the main fields.

I prefer finger cots http://www.amazon.com/Protective-Latex-Tissue-Finger-Medium/dp/B003VPYPJ8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1439237613&sr=8-8&keywords=finger+cots as they protect the coin from oil and debris while maintaining grip and tactile feel with your fingertips.

Now, back on topic...

I'll jump in at:  -1.51 to -1.75%

Please and thank you.

Probably the seller is a member here and is well aware of the value.

He's just not desperate to sell and trying to catch some less informed buyer with too much btc.

These are rare after all.
Rarity alone does not make the case for obscene prices, save for a very few examples over in the "real" coin collecting world.

The 2011 error coin is by no means rare, it is one of the largest mintage numbers for Cas coins, yet it sells consistently for a higher premium per coin than the 25BTC, which is indeed a lower mintage.  There's just not as much love for the 25BTC than there is for the errors, or for most of the rest of the series for that matter.

The market for a 25BTC Cas is roughly 26-28BTC at the moment.  Any user frequenting these forums is probably aware of that.

That user is just looking for a sucker who knows nothing about them and has money burning a hole in their pockets.

My ears were ringing... someone call me?   Grin

Alas, this one will go on without me.  Sorry to spoil the fun but its younger brother is already making its way to my door, so this one is all yours.  Have at it guys and gals!

W00t!

Wasn't sure my bid would stand, but happy it held Smiley

@SgtSpike, did you manage to sell those coins? What was the final price? I also have one of these and would like to estimate their value.
His post was from 2013, and whatever he sold them for back then is no longer valid due to the huge variation in BTC price since then.

I believe the ms-67 from this pic just sold recently, it might be a few pages back in the goods section if you go digging.  I don't remember if the seller disclosed the final price.

An ms-66 will run you somewhere in the mid-5's today.

Ms-65 will be around 4 and ms-64 will be in the mid to upper 3's most likely.  But I haven't seen a 64 sell in a while so I could be off.

I'm a bit confused on why you are insisting on having it prefunded with 5BTC?
I would assume:
1) face value of the coin is 5BTC so it makes sense
2) the holo is already applied and can't be re-marked as "BUYER FUNDED", so it would have to be funded to full amount to be able to match both criteria.

I could be horribly wrong tho... Wink

So, it appears I'm now also the proud owner of an MS-68 bitnickel (5BTC Cas).  I'M on the fence to keep it or let it go, but surely there's a point where I can be swayed Wink .  I will post pics when it gets here, probably early next week.

Still waiting on the exact grade of my silver single.  There were multiple in the batch, with different grades so until it physically arrives I won't know.  It's not polite to list all the grades within the batch as they're not all mine so well just have to wait to see.

List them if you like... Tongue
Nah, I like a good surprise Wink

Yep.  The other graded 67.  Got any more raw ones for sale?   Grin

TheAnalogKid - Let me know when/if you are interested in trading one of your MS68 tenths.  I have two MS 68 Silver Singles so perhaps there will be a deal to be had between us.

Cheers!

1) 2013 Cas 0.1 Silver ANACS MS 68
Why didn't you bid on my auction? I literally just auctioned one off two days ago and the winning bid was a measly 2BTC

I know man, I fell asleep.  Analog Kid got a deal there!
You might want to contact him as he now has two of those coins that he got basically for free  Shocked
Hey now, my wallet balance certainly went down a bit after winning them, so I wouldn't call them "free"   Tongue

Seriously tho, being that I now do have 2 of them, I wouldn't mind parting with one.  I'm in the US as well so shipping should be a non-issue between us.

I'm waiting for ANACS to release the grade on my silver single, so I may or may not have a trade need there depending on what I get back.
Surely... Appears the grades for my single are forthcoming today from ANACS so I'll know in a few hours I hope.

I'm off to work shortly, will be back in touch later.  I'm sure there's a deal here to be made, and I'm up for it.
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: August 04, 2015, 01:17:15 PM
Now that the fees on slush have been dropped AND merged mining NMC introduced, I am as sure as can be that payouts at slush will confortably exceed whatever kano.is can expect to payout, even with the supposed better luck that you claim for kano.is;
So, that being the case, why don't you do what johnnybravo has done elsewhere, and point some hardware at both, record the payouts, and compare them so you can prove your point, rather than continue the cat fight back and forth.

Really, I could give a shit less about what you, or anyone for that matter, "think" or "know" about any pool being better than any other pool with regards to luck or payouts without empirical data, and I'm sure most of the rest would agree.  And, this does not except Kano from that statement either, but he at least has proven before to provide numbers and calculations to attempt to support his assertions, instead of specious knowledge and feelings.

If you prove it with numbers, there is no ability to question or deny at that point.  Until then, it's merely speculation and attempts to denigrate.

I'm gonna open the 1.9BTC bid.  Could use some more quarters.

EDIT: I will add that I was pleasantly surprised to get an email with tracking # stating my order had shipped, basically within 2 hours from paying. Also got a message from mrbrt responding to the note with my order. Truly great service and a pleasure as always, thanks mrbrt/Tom.
I'll echo this... Tom has exceptional customer service, and is always very responsive.  I ordered my 3-coin set, and within a couple hours I also got the e-mails.  He shipped on Saturday and it was waiting for me here this morning... awesome.

True, but I think there's a difference here.

Say china goes offline, instantly, for good.  It would take about what, 200ph offline?

I figure most of that would come back online pretty quickly, as they're miners who aren't affiliated directly with those pools.  Sure, much of ant pool would probably mostly be a complete loss due to their own farm and hosted rentals probably being a majority of the hash rate there. However, I think miners would switch and find other pools pretty quick.  We'd have a dip for a couple days delay while people switch over and find a new home.

This would be different than a nefarious pool attempting a 51% or some sort of underhanded attacking.
