The Yobit Exchange wallets are still not working and I still have GreenCoin floating around somewhere out there. Is there any other place to purchase some GreenCoin and send them to our personal wallets?
My wallet is now sync'd...I can sell you some GRE...pm me and we can discuss price BTC/GRE or another coin? I wasn't looking to make an investment. I was just trying to figure out if my wallet was working alright. It seems to be synchronized but the coins I sent from Yobit several months ago have not yet arrived. I am in the process of purchasing an off grid property in an area that receives optimal solar, hydro, and wind energy and as a hobby, I'm looking at starting a project devoted to cryptocurrency which is completely powered by renewable resources....this project seems to be specialized toward that goal. No worries...would you like to conduct a quick test? Send a few coins 1 ~ 1000GRE to Gekks5JSETVbdSHHYL9Gfbkqy27CsRa9HS and I will send them back. OR Give me one of your addys and I will send you some coin to return. Does this help validate your wallet? Note: Yobit seems to be up a fork...I have 1000000GRE floating around in there

Cranky4U, that is exactly what was happening to me. The solution was to dump the private keys and build a new wallet.dat. It's detailed in the last 4 posts above yours.
Done that twice already. First time when the new wallet first came out then also about 2 months ago will do it again in a few days just to see if a miracle will occur.

Any news on the wallet repairs?
I have not been able to correctly stake for several months now...yes, I have tried every trick discussed on this forum and then some.
Typically, I can connect to 1~4 nodes for about 5 min then they boot down to 1 node whom just wont give up the blocks.
After each episode of totally having the shits, I rip out the peers + block data + etc out of %appdata% before trying thr process again. Blocks will rapidly load and sort up to the 100k~120k point then it all turns to shit. I have left the wallet open several times for 14~24 hours without success. First stage gets there in about 30~45 min...
Thoughts...Burn it all or hang in there?

Chris, I'm still having wallet issues. If i let it do a fresh sync with a new wallet.dat it matches the block count on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gre/#!network. At which point I can close the wallet restore my old wallet.dat and then -rescan. This works untill the next time I shut down then my wallet never matches the block count. I wondering if my wallet doesn't have something to do with the forking problem we have been having. I have acquired quite a lot GRE and you seem to always say it's working when my wallet is shut down. When I'm running it you seem to report a problem. It could just be coincidence but I figure if I can fix my problem it may fix our problems. Let me know what I can do. If need be I can create a new wallet and "import" the old balance, if it's possible and you can walk me though it. Let me know. Emperor & Chris, Maybe Emperor could sink with the network, transfer all his GRE to a trusted wallet (Chris's?) then fresh install the new wallet (with new addys). Then finsih with updating the wallet and having Chris transfer the coins back to Emporer's new wallet. Cranky

I still have some GreenCoin I purchased on yobit lost in the internet's ether somewhere that I tried to send from yobit to my desktop client....will I ever be able to re-cover that, or is it gone for good. That incident happened several months back, so I have basically written it off. I still check my client now and then to see if it magically appeared but my expectations that it will be recovered are very low.
possibly I lost 1.5M Gre in that YoBit / PoS fiasco

That would be quite an interesting concept to do to print a paper wallet once a certain amount of coins has been received. And would reduce the amount of money lost from hacking once the node and mining hardware is operational. However, again, that printer would require more electricity which may then make it less portable.
I also have beenunable to get the GPIO pins to work as well (apart from redirecting the power of oneof te pins to the USB sockets).
True, but maybe if I use one of those small printers used for receipts then it may use very little amount of power. I was thinking about using one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/58mm-Mini-Portable-Bluetooth-4-0-Wireless-Receipt-Thermal-Printer-for-Android-EA-/262163057371?hash=item3d0a22cadb:g:nw4AAOSwHQ9WWCKOIt is a very small printer that uses its own battery for power. Basically, it is mainly used for printing receipts but I could make it to print small paper wallets in the form of a receipt containing both public and private keys. As for GPIOs, I think that it would be of no luck to try getting a GPU to work with it, which is why I think that it is best to stick onto external ASIC miners (or coin staking) at the moment on the Pi. I have been looking at this concept for a few months to utilise some old mining gear, some minor solar panels (~200W in total) and establish some nodes (especially PoS wallets I have had for a few years).
Mind if I get some more data of you such as Pi OS & miner you are using?
The OS I'm using is the default Raspbian OS. It has been operating under default settings, using a 32GB microSD card as its storage. The Pi is powered via an external 10,000mah power bank and the connection to the Android tablet is done via USB tethering using a VNC app to connect to the Pi with an assigned static IP address (make sure to setup tightvncserver on your Pi for this) With the VNC, I can use the tablet as both display and input (mouse, keyboard) for the Pi. I've only been using the Pi with ASIC miners that have very low hashrate, which only serves the purpose for fun and learning. CGMiner is the mining software I've been using for my block erupter miner, and now most recently an Antminer U3 I've bought used from ebay. Just in case, here are the instructions to setup CGMiner on the Pi: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade
Install dependencies: sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev libusb-1.0-0 libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev screen libtool automake pkg-config libjansson-dev screen
Clone cgminer from here: git clone https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer
type the following (input your own pool, username and password): sudo ./cgminer -o POOL -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD cheers

So this is a bullshit thread, then? The only thing I see being fabricated is OP's claim unless he provides proof to the contrary.
Just went through the post history and found this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1606431.0Judge for yourself, he/she is not really making too much sense there Feel stupid that I didn't check earlier before I made my other post. Perhaps an ICE dealer using BTC for sales?

I am looking at acquiring a single, sample x11, X13, x15, etc miner from http://baikalminer.com/Are they legit? Anyone bought from them before?

I have managed to make portable Raspberry Pi 3 mining setup that runs on an external battery power bank of 10,000mAh and uses an Android tablet as its screen, mouse, and keyboard. This setup will be mainly for on the go mining, but I can also use it for staking coins if I wish. Now, all I need is a mobile hotspot and I will be complete. Also, I was thinking of changing the external power bank to a solar one (which I could buy at ebay) What do you think about it? I have been looking at this concept for a few months to utilise some old mining gear, some minor solar panels (~200W in total) and establish some nodes (especially PoS wallets I have had for a few years).
