Do you realize that we are all rising the hashrate, rising the diff, and then earning the same as before??
It's been said many times before, but we're also drowning out the CPUs aka botnets by making GPUs more faster.

For those, who need comparison data and inerested in Claymore miner progress ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) GPU v8 v7 v6 v5 v4 v3 v2 7870 110 95 65 55 40 35 32 7950 180 155 125 95 70 45 38 7970 200 165 120 95 65 55 48 270x 115 100 67 55 40 35 32 280x 200 165 125 90 65 60 51 285 125 110 85 70 40 36 32 RX 470 4Gb 175 155 145 120 70 60 50 Could you share RX 470 config. Mine just 152 on V8. What level -i are you using and are you using the -nofee switch? I can get 170h/s with fee enable and about 158 with the fee switched off using -i6. Anyone in their right mind would not use the -nofee option, it's slower than with the fee......

Again: dual mining is not possible for ZEC because it uses both GPU cores and memory intensively. About new version: it takes more and more efforts to achieve more speed, so I cannot release new versions every day now. Also don't expect +50% speedup anymore, only 15-30% is possible in total.
Claymore, have there been any specific RX 4xx optimizations? It feels like the gap between 290x is quite large on ZEC vs. ETH. Keep up the good work, your fee is worth every BTC ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I do not understand why everyone is happy? with each new version of the miner, money is less and less !!!
False, everyone increases proportionally except CPUs, which get left further and further behind, making botnets less of a thing.

The R9 Nanos uses HBM - high bandwidth memory - and have the best improvement vs all my other types of cards.
v6 has tremendously taken advantage of this features in R9 series that the card posting nearly 200 H/s even better past 180s H/s of 390s.
RX480s however at best posting 130-140s H/s -- could you do your magic on the RX cards?
These are 5 x RX480's .. They way past the 140 mark.. (zero gpu errors) ZEC - Total Speed: 824.505 H/s, Total Shares: 436, Rejected: 2, Time: 00:06 ZEC: GPU0 164.904 H/s, GPU1 165.470 H/s, GPU2 164.607 H/s, GPU3 162.496 H/s, GPU4 167.028 H/s What core and memory speeds are you using? Is this with custom strap?

6хR9 380 periodically resets GPU0 speed, and the miner errors appear non-existent cards, with which it can be connected?
It's a bug, will be fixed in next update. Divide card number by 2. How soon will be next update ? Do you want more speed? I got 4x480 on some of my rigs and one GPU shows 0 but with load 100% and heat. This is not so good, right ? I guess everyone wants more speed or what do you mean ? 1. It's strange and can be related to some hardware problem. 2. You will be surprised, but not all people want more speed, though it puts CPU botnets to nowhere. Agreed, more speed puts the botnets out of business.

Does anyone have a good RX 480 Reference BIOS for Zcash? I am topping out at 70 Sol/s, but I see folks claiming 80?
|
|

@claymore - how much more RX 470/480 performance do you think you can squeeze out? Have you done any specific tuning for them?
|
|

Anyone have a good RX 480 Reference BIOS that works well on Zcash they don't mind sharing? Additionally specific gpu/mem clock speeds?
Greetings

Still crashes on windows 10.... what if it's not gpu-related, did you try to run the miner in win7 compatibility mode ? Yes, it didn't help. Does anyone have it working on Windows10?

Does anyone have this working on windows 10? Will not work on any of my Window 10 rigs.

I can recommend to try Catalyst 16.7.2 on Win7 64 and Windows 10 for silent army kernel. Remove all *.bin files before launch a miner.
Unfortunately with modded BIOS, can't run that old of driver. Can you get this working with 16.9.x?

I've been testing a lot lately with different wattman settings and so far, this is the best I can get. My main goal was to lower the power use as most as I can without impacting the hashrate too much and also lowering the heat and noise. So I just want to share what I have been using now to help others. I have 6x XFX 480 4gb models. At first, I flashed them all to 8gb, but I flashed them all back to 4gb, due to the 4gb having 1750 memory clock instead of 2000 memory clock, which will lower power usage without impacting hashrate that much (probably due to better memory timing straps). ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Ftv29Jgt.jpg&t=663&c=lpGKpD11CQu0hg) I just change state 7 to 900, voltage for gpu and memory to 800, power limit -30%, and change the fan speed and target temperature to my liking's. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FHenRzz4.jpg&t=663&c=5l_g8JHiY48BhA) Here is my GPU-Z showing my settings stuck even after flashing from a 4gb to 8gb and back to 4gb. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FhhaS2I9.jpg&t=663&c=geZnIHnmiNoBkw) Here is me running Claymore 4.7 with ETH mining only and showing a stable hashrate of almost 24 mhs per card with GPU-Z graph. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FyEmTJQJ.jpg&t=663&c=arLEtr9PU1YNlg) Here is my whole rig power usage with 6x RX 480. So far, I'm pretty happy with the results with the whole rig only needing about 670 watts at the wall. If anyone else can figure out a way to lower power usage even further and still stay close to 24 mhs per card, please share. Thanks. These are close to the best settings on all of bitcointalk (and I've tried the all, along with many variations). Admittedly, I slightly tweaked this, and am doing 2100 on memory, with a bit more voltage and getting 25.5 per card in my farm. I brought power consumption down 40% doing this - and my fans speeds are 50% less. 40% ?! im skeptical at this All my cards were pulling 190w before, and they are +/-3 watts over/under 100w now - albeit they were running at 28Mh/s, but to take a 10% hit on hash rate was well worth the power savings. Would it be ok to make 6 card rigs? Or 5?
I don't see why not. I can fit 4 comfortably in a 1k PSU. Also, my fans run at 2200-2600 rpm which sound lower than what's in the video, they are not loud at all. I've found though if the Wattman utility ever crashes, you have to remove all drivers and software and reinstall or it will not take the -15% power that I set the GPUs at to get the cool running.

Just to be clear, I have many of these in Rigs with USB powered risers, and have no issues. I am getting 27.5MHs per card, and they pull ~155w, this is vastly better than I get with my 390's in terms of MH/s per Watt. The blowers on these aren't bad at all, in fact quieter than most of my aftermarket 390's and run about 8c cooler. It took me about 20 hours to figure out the ideal config to get those numbers, but the RX 480 is definitely a winner.
What is the total hash and the total power consumption on the wall? How many 480 do you have in one rig? I have 3 x 4 card rigs, each does 110 Mh/s at 775 watts at the wall (including CPU/Mobo etc).

Claymore, will there be plans to make the miner more efficient with newer drivers to support the release of the Radeon RX 480?
