As you can see, there is a lot of language teams. All of them are progressing at a different speed, and sometime fall in a period of inactivity. Making sure these translation are published is just a matter of spending enough time on them.

Many additional reviews and improvements are being done on the French translations.
There is a much larger number of incomplete translations. You can join them to increase their chances to be completed and published.

FWIW, I think it is more suitable for P2Pool to remain on a dedicated domain. Serving it on bitcoin.org would just bury it under a lot of unrelevant information and make it harder to find. The website would also be managed by people with no involvement with P2Pool, which I think isn't the logical next step.

I agree that promoting P2Pool is only a small part of the solution. Yet, still much better than not doing it.

Sure, actually of all languages I think are a priority, Hindi is probably the one with the lowest level of activity. With what is happening right now in India, having good quality translated content available like the FAQ seems only like a good thing to me. So if anyone can make this happen, your work is certainly welcome as well.

In fact so long as translations' quality is good, I see no downside to adding new languages. Unmaintained languages can be a long-term problem, but it is still possible to serve partially outdated content for a limited period of time. To me that is still better than nothing as most content on bitcoin.org is timeless.

I am not sure if I get your idea correctly, but the press page could be made available for other languages as well.

The main challenge was to actually have non-controversial interviewees, which has been difficult for the English page as well. I wasn't sure we could do a good job on this front with other languages.

The FAQ is already translated. Except quotes, translating this page is fairly easy (only a few titles), and custom content (or no content at all) can be displayed for any particular language (e.g. interviewees, press coverage, etc.).

Thanks for the Whitepaper translation (I wasn't aware of it, bookmarked!). Someone also made a HTML version of the English page which I still have here. Perhaps at some point it would be great to put this on bitcoin.org (althought I'd like to give a chance for translators to catch up with the FAQ first).

Many new languages appeared in the last months and have progressed fast, including Malayalam, Bulgarian, Catalan, Estonian, Czech.

While I think it is particularly useful, Analytics wasn't setup at the time and I agree with this decision. I am OK with gmaxwell request to "follow the rule" and always use pull req. I just didn't think there would be issues, especially given that this was a temporary measure to help us moving to a dedicated server, which actually improves privacy (no more GitHub pages).

As for getting statistics, once there is a dedicated server, I thought it would be great to have our own statistics (and I personally have no problem making this information public if others agree). Yet, make sure we periodically purge IP logs and never leak this information.

I'll try to keep this thread up to date with the status of translations on bitcoin.org.

So far there's been a very interesting number of new members in many different teams. Many languages are getting closer to being fully translated, but more help is still very useful and appreciated.

Moi aussi je ne trouve pas le mot "minage" particulièrement attirant, même si ce vocabulaire semble juste après vérification. Je suis tout aussi intéressé si une meilleure alternative était proposée.

Collecte est bien sauf peut-être sous la première forme (collecteur)?

Aussi, personnellement, je crois que tôt ou tard, le terme "mining" devra être remplacé car il ne fait pas vraiment de sens sur le long terme (la création monétaire va s'arrêter). Je crois qu'il s'agit uniquement d'une bonne analogie du principe économique, et non du processus (traitement des transactions et établissement d'un consensus distribué). J'ai déjà cherché des alternatives anglaises, sachant qu'il serait difficile de déloger ce vocabulaire, mais n'ai rien trouvé de concluant, au cas où quelqu'un s'y intéresse aussi.

Someone created the Hindi team but finally didn't start working on translations. I would be happy to see anybody take that task too. Could you (or anyone else) ask for it in the India subforum?

There's been a lot of new members in the last days, especially in the Spanish team, that's encouraging. Not all of them started working on translations but that's a good start!
