Penn & Teller Wink

Yep, absolute legends.

I also like Derren Brown, not a true magician I suppose, but a master of illusion and gives a a unique insight into the skills magicians use...

If I had to pick between Blaine and Angel, probably Blaine, because he relies less on image and more on charisma...
63  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you find Quake 3 scary? on: July 21, 2017, 12:28:04 AM
Quake 3 arena? It's a great game, I spent a lot of time playing it online back in the day, but I wouldn't say it was scary - more of a competition than a visceral, scary experience.

DOOM 3, on the other hand, was scary as fuck. I remember playing it at night, with headphones turned up loudly. Not for the faint hearted.

Aliens vs Predator was another game that I remember being especially freaky.

The newer Alien: Isolation is a very tense and scary experience too, not an action-packed FPS but more of a stealthy, realistic experience. It does a very good job of recreating the atmosphere in the original Alien film.

only 15 to 25 have made there  guess on when we brake another ATH             ATH  ATH   ATH   GAME   !!!!

and get paid by me for the one guesses most closly ( 0.25BTC ) as another ( 0.25 BTC) for giving the best explanation why the raise at that time

anybody more wants to take a guess feel free to take a date

( for the ones that don't trust me to pay still just waiting for a trusty member to react on this and be confirmt by 2 other trusted members and i deposit the amount with them ......)

ONLY GOOD INTENTIONS

 Wink Wink Wink Wink

I think the price will get close to the price of $2789 on Bitstamp (on July 6th) within 24 hours from now, and then there will be a correction, probably bringing the price down to the region of $2400. After the weak hands have sold, I speculate the price will shoot upwards again once more, and will hit an ATH around 24 hours after that.

I call ATH on 22nd of July, at 16.32 GMT.

Are you dumping silver for cheaper BTC rebuy ?

What kind of fool would do that?  Silver is at cost of production or even below it for some miners.  Silver is a far better buy than BTC.  Next metals bull run will probably be gold $3000-3200, silver $90-120.  If there's some type of big economic event or lots of printing, gold $5000-ish, silver $166-$200.  If they're forced to revalue gold entirely in one act, gold will be set to $10-20k and silver will be astronomical.

Well that sounds very unrealistic to me. Especially considering the market caps of PMs and how much capital is needed to affect the price, the prices that you speak of (especially gold) would probably take years to reach those levels. The case with silver reaching nearly 10x its current price is more realistic due to its lower market cap, and its higher industrial value as a percentage of its worth (compared to gold), but still seems very unlikely to me.

The next few months will be an interesting time for bitcoin, and I'm sure we'll see some volatility, but the utility of bitcoin and other cryptos over PMs just make them a far better long term hedge IMO. For a non cryptocurrency investment I would be looking into property and land, over PMs.

That said, in the words of Wu-Tang Financial: "You need to diversify yo bonds, nigga"

I've just got back from SE Asia... went to Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Malaysia and also Vietnam. There for 8 weeks, the only place i saw that accepted BTC was a bar in Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam

Was it the place on Bui Vien street that sells coffee, beer and nitrous balloons? I've been there quite a few times, I'm living in Saigon right now. The owner is a really cool guy!
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best places in SE Asia to spend Bitcoin? on: July 08, 2017, 08:33:53 PM
I wanna make a short trip to a SE Asian country, and would love to spend Bitcoin in hotels, bars and shops etc.

My current choice of places is:

Hong Kong
Singapore
Malaysia
Thailand
Indonesia
Phillipines

Myanmar or Cambodia (I don't think I'll be able to spend many bitcoins in these two places)

It would be especially great if I could pay for the whole trip with Bitcoin, including flights/hotel/bar/restaurants...

Where would be the best place to go?

Are you going backpacking?

I've been to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia of the places you're looking to visit.  At the time Bitcoin wasn't prevalent, and I don't think it would be easy to do all your spending in Bitcoin even today.  You'll likely need to have local currencies, except in Cambodia.  They seem to be quite happy accepting US dollars.

If you're going backpacking, I'd recommend starting in Thailand.  It's the easiest way to transition into backpacking lifestyle, meet lots of other backpackers, and Thailand is very well setup for backpacking.  Most people speak English so there's little language barrier.

Enjoy your travels  Smiley

Thanks, no I'm not backpacking - I'm currently based in Vietnam and I need to renew my visa, so I thought a trip to another country close by would be cool, rather than the bus to the Moc Bai border with Cambodia.

I am planning on doing some travelling soon though, and Thailand is high up on my list. I absolutely love Thai food so that is a big factor!

Hello, sorry I don't speak Chinese.

I would like to know if there is anywhere to spend Bitcoin in Hong Kong - I am visiting for a few days and am looking for bars, restaurants and hotels that accept Bitcoin.

I found this website: https://blog.cubits.com/how-to-spend-bitcoin-in-hong-kong/ which mentions a hotel (9 Boutique Hotel) and a bar (Bit Point Bar), but both websites are dead.

Are there any other places I should know about?

Thank you, I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.
73  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: July 03, 2017, 10:38:43 PM
blablablabla...
This theory is not truth also picture is FAIL.

This is not possible in your "flat" Earth.

Do some real research instead searching for shit theories on youtube and FAIL pictures created by people with IQ of room temperature.

Good work beating down that strawman with a fucking flat map that has the Sun as a vector quantity. If the Sun is at and altitude of ~3k miles and producing a spotlight effect on the Earth then everything is in agreement with measurement and observation.

You buffoon.

If you think that "everything is in agreement with measurement and observation", why don't you take a little trip around the world, perhaps visit somewhere in the Arctic circle, Greenland maybe?

And then go somewhere in the Southern hemisphere, perhaps Australia or New Zealand. Take note of the time difference, the position of the Sun and Moon, the position of the stars, and the amount of daylight. You could measure all of these variables, and test them. See if they align with your hypothesis.

You strike me as someone who has never really ventured outside of their comfort zone - maybe it's time to see the world?
74  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the most dangerous virus now? on: June 10, 2017, 07:26:16 AM
Trojans are a class of virus, not a specific virus. They normally involve some sort of action by the user - such as opening an email attachment or clicking on a popup.

Some can be dangerous, things like CryptoLocker and trojans that enable keylogging could be devasting. Others could be relatively benign, perhaps just hijacking your internet browser for targeted ads.

Personally I find if your are careful with downloading files and opening attachments, it's unlikely that a trojan will infect your system. Better safe than sorry though...

75  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Comedy Movies in Hollywood? on: June 10, 2017, 07:15:09 AM
Depends what comedies you are into...

If you like silly, modern comedies I recently saw "Fist Fight", which was silly but pretty funny. But not very sophisticated. Some similar style comedies that I enjoyed were "Pineapple Express" and "Superbad", also "Sausage Party" was a lot of fun. (all the last three have the same group of actors)

If you want some more interesting comedies, I would recommend the Coen brothers, my favourites being "The Big Lebowski" and "The Hudsucker Proxy". Also try some films with Simon Pegg: "Shaun of the Dead" or "Hot Fuzz" are both great.

For some of the older classics, try "Trading Places", the "Airplane" series, or "Naked Gun" series (or anything with Leslie Nielson tbh, he was just hilarious). Also "Coming to America" is fun, and "The Producers" is great too.

If you fancy some old skool British style eccentricity, check out some Monty Python films: "The Life of Brian" or "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" are both genius.

If you fancy a mockumentary, my two favourites are "What we do in the Shadows" (Vampires living in New Zealand), and "Spinal Tap" (a classic about a ridiculous British rock band).

I even offered you the oppurtunity to use MS fucking Paint to provide some evidence for my final point...

I think that if you can't use Paint, people probably shouldn't be trusting your arguments in alternative fringe astrophysics. Just an observation.

Gyroscopic Eyes - Proof We Were Created to Live on a Flat Plane
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhgT9gRm4gI

Moron. Do you think your eyes could spin all the way round, like a gyroscope? Simple test, do a handstand against a wall, and try and read some text. See what conclusions you make from that experiment.

Your eyes can certainly tilt to certain angles, but they can't turn 180 degrees, they are bound by muscles (the same ones that allow them to move).

Flat Earth Universe - A Short Documentary Film (20:00)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgdwiViAw3w

I actually watched this all the way through. I had a sneaky smoke, and tbh I thought it would be a good laugh... And it was!

First of all, this is one of the worst documentaries I;ve ever seen, in terms of bias, propaganda and production values. The fact that the majority of the film is based on CGI is the first warning flag, and the second is the lack of narration and the distinct lack of scientific theories, and why and how they are wrong. Finally it has the classic dodgy "epic conspiracy music" and a far too blatant narrative of "you have been lied to, here is the truth!" These are all warning flags that you're about to be told lies.

It was literally just a bunch of CGI with subtitles telling me I was wrong, with no actual evidence to back it up. It also didn't give ANY reasons, motives or evidence for the alternative theories, apart from "an intelligent designer made it all". This leads me to believe the video is a shill, aiming to gain revenue from the demographic of people that have a distrust of government and organised science, and confused religious people.

Anyhow, let me break down some of the key moments in the "documentary"... that seem to be bullshit.

0.00 - Religious bullshit, claiming that TPTB don't want you to believe in a creator. But they don't say why - It seems to be working out quite well for the USA and the Middle East right now?

0.30 - Incorrect claim that there is no evidence for the speeds of our planet through space. Every astronomical observation shows this to be the case, and relativity shows that we would feel no forces acting against us as the acceleration is minimal.

0.54 - Do we wonder about the edge of the "Infinite Universe"? Of course we do, but we don't know that it's infinite. We do know that the edge of the observable universe is 46.5 billion light years away though. Evidence for this includes redshift electromagnetic radiation, amongst other things.

2.00 - No I probably won't be converted, because it's obvious that this "documentary" is already obviously bullshit shill propaganda. In fact I don't think I can watch it again...

2.00-5.00 - Oh jesus kill me now...

5.10 - Apparently the yin-yang symbol is evidence for the sun/moon spotlight theory. No explanation why though, just "it looks a bit like it, right???"  Roll Eyes

OK I was actually contemplating suicide, I just can't watch the video again, it was funny the first time round, but... nah. Like Columbo might say however, "one more thing..."

16.50 - Now this video clip blatantly shows the moon and sun setting and rising at similar times, in opposite directions, perpendicular to the horizon. This is literally impossible if we accept the spotlight CGI sun and moon shown relentlessly throughout this shitty video. There is no possible way that this could occur if the spotlight theory is correct. If someone can show me how, using a 3d model perhaps, then that would be interesting.

Even with a fucking MSPaint diagram. Come on guys, prove me wrong...
