Wait, in the chess thing, what happens if an AI plays? I mean, I could simulate easily all possible moves and do a treemap choice maker which only highlights the suggested move for winning and then just act if I was the best of all. :/
602  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bounty for Bitcoin Animated Movie [13622.05 BTC ($2520) and growing] on: January 16, 2011, 10:10:14 PM
...$3500 its still a considerable bounty.
Actually with the 40 cent exchange it is more like $5500 USD. If you ask me we should update this thread because it is over 50% of what the thread indicates. xD
603  Economy / Marketplace / Re: NEW SITE Classified ads on: January 16, 2011, 07:10:45 PM
Why do I need to have JavaScript?

This is cryptic and creepy at the same time: "You must have JavaScript enabled in your browser to comfort access this site"
why so? I don't care if some functionality such as the "advance GUI" is gone. You should take a look at the way StackExchange manages this. :/
604  Economy / Marketplace / VPS on: January 15, 2011, 08:52:38 PM
I am going to buy and build one small server. I am going to be using it though would love to build a second one and the collocation if there is enough people interested in it.

Here are the specs:
-100MBps shared bandwidth between max 15 vps
-512 MB Memory
-20 GB Harddisk space. No backups or RAID.
-Shared Sempron 140 processor(Or higher depending on demand)
-OSs: Linux(Debian, Ubuntu, LinuxMint, Arch), FreeBSD, and more on request.
-Collocation in Mexico City, Mexico.

This is just a survey, who is interested in buying for 20 BTC/month or 200 BTC/year? Just say so!
605  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (>10000Mhash/s, join us!) on: January 15, 2011, 08:14:36 PM
I am at the newest and it is clocked at stock. As of the version I am sure I have the latest one. This had happened some times before and occurs/fixes magically and randomly. :/
606  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (>10000Mhash/s, join us!) on: January 15, 2011, 07:57:10 PM
I am getting again +80% invalid or stale hashes. Why does this happens?

Fixed. Smiley

Well, there is a bounty I started for a bitcoin crowdfunding platform though you are most likely searching to crowdsource the task.
610  Other / Off-topic / Re: Wow. This isn't real. on: January 15, 2011, 05:06:56 PM
I can't really see that it is a hologram (as in real 3D). Seems more like lasers shining on a flat semi-transparent surface. (I've seen these things already about 15 years ago, although much simpler). More 2D to me then 3D to me.

Maybe it is because of the way it was recorded. The issue is that everyone sees it in 3D when they go over there. I remember this being post in Gizmodo.

I am newb on bug reporting so I hope this is readable enough.

count me in, my handle is fabianhjr.(registering right now) Must I be a grownup to participate or be a USA resident?(Just making sure Tongue )

Hey, I got this great idea: A shooting range with some balloons.(Skill + luck) One basket has nothing, the second one has 50%, the next one has what you inserted , and the last one has 2.5x multiplier.(Statistically players should not lose a bitcent, you might want to change it a bit xD) They move in a circle(Clockwise or counter-clockwise) and they can switch direction on average each 3 seconds.(And never less than 1 second) The dart itself will take about 0.25 seconds to reach the target and your hand shakes a little bit.(Though, it will still go exactly where you aim) Some testing should be done for the appropriate speed of the wheel. Hope you like it. Cheesy

@brocktice guy. Really cool build!

@sturle Well, you would only need enough energy to operate the compressor and fans. However, yes, it uses a bit too much electricity. You plan is really good though. I want to have in my house a 150K USD heater right now. LOL

@vlad I am sure I can jam 4x 5970 in 3U.(14 x 8 GPUS(300 MHashes/each) for a total of 33 GHashes/sec) as of the cooling just install the waterblocks and run the cooling outside the case. I believe there are also res/pump/rad tower combos which are really cool.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not a miner, I am a farmer! on: January 14, 2011, 10:10:21 PM
Yeah, I mean that, you can buy some rack cabinets and just put them in a small room with the thermostat at negative 10C - positive 5C.(Where you can fit like 4-6 cabinets total and have enough space to operate) Some big freezes/fridges have huge cooling module which basically is this:

+ a second fan cooling the heated side and a wall between the 2 sides. I am quite sure it is enough and efficient enough for your cooling needs. An apart you can get a cheap broadband connection. Just 1 server needs to run the client and the others just submit hashes/plain when they are found and the client submits it as a block. I wonder if there are 3U cases with 8 back slots for putting a fourth card. That would be awesome. This would be a beast; a really big overkill.
615  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (>10000Mhash/s, join us!) on: January 14, 2011, 08:28:57 PM
If you didn't got a share then the next round is more likely to have the share there at the beginning. slush's pool is just easier to get smaller more constant payments. Smiley
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin - wasteful? on: January 14, 2011, 08:27:23 PM
The confirmations just means it didn't got deny in the blockchain that followed and is just a count of blocks since it got filled.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin - wasteful? on: January 14, 2011, 08:16:16 PM
Even if confirmations increase it doesn't mean another block confirmed; it means the next block needn't and didn't deny it. So if the transaction is filled the tenth block and you are in the 15th block you have 5 confirmations.
618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Recommend a Linux distro for home use? on: January 14, 2011, 08:12:49 PM
In the notification bar the update manager alerts you of propretary drivers and you just have to accept the driver's license to install it. xD
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not a miner, I am a farmer! on: January 14, 2011, 07:56:06 PM
Wait, you don't need collocation in a datacenter. Why not having them home? You can buy a cabinet and really the backup power isn't that relevant. You can get a Freezer grade room cooler and have the room at 5C instead of the normal 21C. Bandwidth isn't really a problem. Just have a basic 4U Opetron 24 GB DDR3-1600 12 TB(RAID 5) server on a home 10Mbps connection and 2U of switches. It would be awesome and a little bit of an overkill. xD

Honestly, why do you need the bandwidth?
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not a miner, I am a farmer! on: January 14, 2011, 04:03:46 PM
You can actually fit 6 GPUs per 3U Rack Case. As for the Amps you could surly have more power(64/96/128 Amps), can't you?(I am not experienced in Rackmounts) This could give you about 84 GPUs per cabinet or about 25 GHahes/sec. So right now a 5 cabiner farm can match the totals network hashrate. You mean the limitation of the BackUp/Regulator? Or more about the collocation rates?
