"Safe" is a very interesting word. It really depends on what you are trying to protect yourself from. ...
+1111. Wow! This is the best post I have found in this year about "storing BTC safely". You absolutely changed my mind. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - snip - Please suggest something, other than hardware wallets, because I dont want to shell out money on them
If you have good amount of BTC, why don't you try Trezor or Ledger?

well, no clue then lol. When I connect to westhash I have no issues out of it. using the same settings to connect to local wallet I get the errors so that is what I thought it was.
Try removing first pool from the config file. ~~MZ~~

that isn't the problem. the problem is if BFG does not detect "shares" being accepted it throws up an idle error after 60 seconds. It found a block last night (its my own coin and I am trying to get the blockchain moving again) but it always wants to restart because of the idle. I am wanting to turn that feature off
Your miner configuration please? Please post it here. ~~MZ~~

I have looked and I cannot find it. I am using bfgminer to solo mine my coins wallet. BUT I don't want it to declare sick after 60 seconds, is there any way that I can disable that ?
Your miner? Underclocking it may make it stable. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ~~MZ~~

Yes! ~~MZ~~

Can you please put small deposit fee and remove withdrawal fee? Users spend their time to earn BTC from faucets and that too very small amount and then asking fee from them isn't a good idea. You can charge a small fixed deposit fee from faucet owners but don't charge a percentage type fee as it would be very high. Thanks in advance! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) ~~MZ~~

do You have Your faucet online? would like to see it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I am poor at coding and I hired jackjocker. Don't expect an AMAZING faucet from me, it may be worse than others. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ~~MZ~~

Do i need to use there faucet script.
what is best free faucet script, and why?
You don't want to use anybody's faucet script. Just request an API and integrate it to your faucet. AFAIK there is nothing like a best faucet script. MicroPayment services mostly create it for easy-faucet-creating, so everybody can create it. P.S. Just found that Paytoshi's faucet script has a few pre-loaded themes which can be changed from admin panel. good suggest, thank you but that high fee
It's not high. For example, if you deposit 0.01 BTC in FaucetBox, your account will be credited 0.0097 BTC. Anyway, if the fee is the problem you can use Paytoshi and if they charge fees later(most probably they will [1]), you can stay with them if the fee is lower or migrate to FaucetBox. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) [1] They just launched it. So now it may be free but if they get many owners, they may charge fee. ~~MZ~~

Okay! Total post means total post made in that week and decreased 40% to 30%.
~~MZ~~

Update: Campaign is still open for more users.
Everything solved. Bitin.io campaign 'Miscellaneous': You must post atleast 40% 30% of the total posts made in the week in English and outside Off-Topic and Local board. A small doubt : If escrower is managing funds, shouldn't it be also considered as Escrowed? Because I escrow the funds for Bitin.io but why it is 'No'? Dump question maybe. ~~MZ~~

You must post atleast 40% 30% of the total posts made in the week in English and outside Off-Topic and Local board to get your payment. If you post almost all of them in your local board in your language, you will not get the payment and don't complain about it.[/size]

It's not in the settings. Can you PM me as to where I can get the 2.0 beta? I LOVE beta testing things!
You can download the zip from their github repo : https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum . You will have to build it or for first run, after you install Python and essential components, you can run electrum file from the folder - python electrum Good Luck! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ~~MZ~~

Well the whole point is that I'm NOT seeing it! It's not on the menu when I right-click. I'm using the Windows installer version at the moment. I've tried all the different versions though with the same results.
Replied in to your PM! ~~MZ~~ Per your PM I did everything you suggested. 1. I completely removed Electrum 1.9.8 including running a registry cleaner to clean up any remnants left in the registry 2. Rebooted PC 3. Installed Electrum from a fresh download. The problem still persists. The is NO light/dark option on the taskbar when right-clicked. Just Hide/Show and Exit. I also have Electrum-LTC installed and it DOES have the option when right-clicked in the taskbar. Anyway this issue will in no way prevent me from using Electrum. I love it!! I use Electrum 2.0 Beta. Maybe it was newly implemented in it? Or it maybe in Electrum settings. ~~MZ~~

Bitcoinwiki is all you will need.
All have different styles. User can select which is better/suitable for them. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Stay away from the altcoin section for now. Its a good place to earn if you know what you are doing, but newbies like you will get robbed.
And also, you may get banned if you post in altcoin giveaways. Post by Admin(theymos): Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.
Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.
Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.

Bitaddress.org
Print off a few and use Bip38 encryption and give them to trusted family and friends to hold.
If you are doing that, why don't you print Multisig address or Bitaddress' special Split-Key-address? That is better in terms of security. ~~MZ~~

BTChip does not support signing messages either. :-/ sorry
BTChip allows to sign message - there is a C API, so I am sure there is Python API. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And also, I imported private keys. So it should be imported to Electrum and thus shouldn't be using BTChip for signing, right? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ~~MZ~~
