6081  Other / Meta / Re: The account is locked. How can unlock? on: November 06, 2017, 02:07:07 PM
Good afternoon. Last night was blocked the account of my brother: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1249550
Red was highlighted in this phrase:"Sorry Pozhidayev, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum. You have been banned by a forum moderator. You may appeal here: banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com"
He sent a letter to the specified address. Asked me to see if it is possible to unlock the account as he did not want to create a new?

The account got nuked, so it's likely to be a spam related issue. Probably posting random rubbish or posting referral links. The accounts been permanently banned so any account that you do create will be ban evasion and will likely be nuked too.
6082  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming, copy and paste spam monkeys on: November 06, 2017, 12:22:33 PM
The only thing we can do right now is report farm accounts as spam and hope moderators address it.

It would be great if there was a way to publicly see how many times an account was reported so bounty campaign managers could easily tell if an account should be removed from the campaign. This eases some of the burden away from moderators.

Any good campaign manager will know whether they are a good candidate or not, unfortunately at the moment there's very few managers that actually care about running the campaign and just allow anyone to join and continue spamming. I don't think making reports public will have any benefit as they don't care as long as they are getting paid anyway.

The only way to combat the spam is to report it and because a lot of campaigns have public participant lists it might be easier to actually find the ones that are spamming.
6083  Other / Meta / Re: activity calculator on: November 06, 2017, 11:47:44 AM
Okay, thanks for the information!
But I still didnt get the major difference between activity and potential activity? Just eager to know as many things I can about forum Smiley

Potential activity just means you've earned the 14 activity, but haven't posted that much. So you could have a potential activity of 28 because you posted in two 14 activity periods, but you have only posted two posts, therefore you have a potential activity of 28 but only two posts. To get that activity you need to have equal or more posts.
6084  Other / Meta / Re: activity calculator on: November 06, 2017, 11:30:28 AM
You can get a maximum of 14 points of activity every 2 weeks. But, if you didn't recieve all 14 points in 2 weeks, you can recieve them (I think only a part of them) in the next weeks. That's what is called potential activity.
Just to clarify- I have signed up 6 months ago on the forum but never posted a single post and now past two weeks I am being as active as possible then how is it calculated? Will it be limited as regular or some Extra activity can be awarded to me?

It will be given like regular activity. You need to post in each 14 activity period to get the activity, even one post is enough to get all 14 activity. If you haven't posted in these time frames then you won't be eligible for it. Sign up date doesn't matter, older accounts still have to go through the process of posting in each 14 activity period.
6085  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question for LocalBitcoins.com traders on: November 06, 2017, 10:53:39 AM
This is the risk of trading any where, whether that's localbitcoins or an exchange. Traders on localbitcoins always sell for something more than they originally got the amount for. They tend to put a premium on it too to combat the fees. I'm not sure localbitcoins is the most profitable and probably doesn't have too many advantages over an exchange.
6086  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Strategy for upcoming BTC fork? on: November 06, 2017, 10:15:07 AM
'Assuming price for B2X is $1,000' is said on cryptonews. What's the base for that? Is this new coin more precious than Bitcoin Cash?

Segwit2x at least tries to improve on the existing infrastructure, whilst Bitcoin cash was just like any other alternative coin. Bitcoin Gold was a scam coin. There isn't any bases on his assumption though, if it's going to sell at a fixed price then I would stay away from the coin. It's likely to get some hype though and will likely be worth something in the first few days. Hard to tell whether it will be more than that at this point in time.
6087  Other / Meta / Re: Not sure if account HACKED. BTC IN ESCROW AT STAKE on: November 06, 2017, 09:58:30 AM
The seller has sent the items. And I am awaiting delivery. Certain elements are still outstanding however and It's difficult to communicate with Seller or SebastianJu with a dark cloud hanging over me.

Is there any way to prove my innocence from checking IP logins perhaps? Will Theymos be motivated to check for a fee?

Ask SebastianJu if there is another way you may communicate. theymos isn't likely to be bribed to check the ip logins of the account, and IP logins are very easy to spoof so aren't adequate proof. It's probably better to just communicate through another means and maybe sign the address of the escrow to prove you are who you say you are.
6088  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there any reliable cloud bitcoin mining sites? "new member" on: November 06, 2017, 09:54:19 AM
Don't bother finding one. Consider all of them scams. It's the cloudmining which takes benefits from it. Not the investors. So i suggest, stay away from them. There's many investors are scammed by these scam cloud mining. Come to think of it. You can't even take back your roll of investments within one year. This can't give you decent profit. I don't know why there's so many people fall for this. Cloudmining is not worth your time and money. There's a lot of ways to make your btc grow mate. HYIP sites including cloudmining is not included. You can trade you btc if you want. Trading can give you decent profit. You just need to study it first before jumping to this field.

In fact the early investors are going to profit, but will encourage others to start joining and eventually people will no longer make a profit. It just doesn't make sense to hire equipment off of people whilst they are the ones buying it and using their electricity and you still expect to profit, it's just not going to happen.

The only one I can fully stand behind is DMD Diamond cloud, it s been online 4 years and many people have reached ROI and made money using it. Other then that, no idea.

Genesis Mining is BS, don't even consider trying that.

Some people may well earn a slight profit, but the majority will be losing a significant margin.
6089  Other / Meta / Re: Not sure if account HACKED. BTC IN ESCROW AT STAKE on: November 06, 2017, 09:43:43 AM
Thanks,

I think I am a victim of the Phishing scam as I had received several emails last week apparently from Bitcointalk.org, I did click the link thinking it to be a personal message, and when I found no message in my messages, i just shrugged it off. Now I am realizing the costly mistake as someone took hold of my account and used it to attempt to scam my ongoing deal.

The problem is, how do I convince SebastianJu that I am innocent and a Victim of a scammer!

If the escrow hasn't been completed and the other party hasn't sent the item you are in the escrow for, then I'm sure SebastianJu could release the funds to the original address it was sent from due to the escrow not completing. Your unlikely to get your account unbanned though.
6090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I lose Segwit2 fork coins due to not holding enough bitcoin? on: November 06, 2017, 09:39:23 AM
I have never heard anything like this .

All I know is that people get the same amount of forked coins as the amount of bitcoins that they hold.

Maybe he could have meant that the amount of coins that he received when cashed out were nothing.

If your balance in bitcoins is 0.01 .. then only you should think about the forks.. Because anything less than this won't generate any nice output when cashed out, because the value of forked coins are very small when they are launched.

Well you can be assured that this is not the case hut yes you can hold bitcoins in a big amount to generate profit from this.

Well not really, what ever you own your going to get in alt coins when the chain splits. Anything is going to be worth something even if you have £5 worth. It might not cover the transaction fee, but it will be worth something. There's no minimum except being able to cover the transaction fee of the new coin. (if we are talking about profit otherwise there isn't any limit)
6091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 16~25BTC for request someone recovery our Blockchain wallet 2nd Password on: November 05, 2017, 05:19:53 PM
If the hacker is the one that changed the password and you know nothing about it, then it's going to be highly unlikely for you to get access to that. The only way it would be possible is if he's used a weak password, which he probably hasn't. What do you mean by the second password?
6092  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming, copy and paste spam monkeys on: November 05, 2017, 05:15:30 PM
It's getting worse recently, but if you sit on the patrol page you'll normally be able to report them all as they normally tend to post directly after each other. Just report them, but make sure to put in the comment referencing the other accounts doing so too.

I know account farming has always been a thing, but I'm seeing a lot more trying to bury themselves in giant threads that we have these days.
6093  Other / Meta / Re: negative trust: why do people get it on bitcointalk.org on: November 05, 2017, 11:26:40 AM
Sometimes could be justify. Others some users just abuse of the trust system. Like Lauda, she just gave me a negative for no reason 😼...shame on you Lauda😝😝😝
c
Can a user I didn't have any deal with or contacted before decide to give me negative trust ( in the name of abusing the trust system)

Anyone can leave negative feedback on your trust page for any reasons they want, and no prior deal or contact needs to have happened for them to do that, in fact many people get negative trust from random users just because they called them out on something or they don't agree with their opinions. It doesn't mean that the trust is valid though, trust is there as an indicator and should be taken on case by case.

You can also tweak your trust list, and many people will have removed some of the default trust from their list.

6094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a bubble? on: November 04, 2017, 08:11:34 PM
Doesn't matter what people say, if its a bubble or not. As long as the price goes up (which will) more and more merchants/businesses will be forced/interested to implement Bitcoin as payment method. I believe that this will be mostly case in 2018 as hype will increase dramatically.

If it's a bubble that's implying that it won't go up, but simply 'pop' and take a substantial value hit. Hype is also a good and bad thing, the thing with hype is that it's usually short term and causes much instability and personally I don't think many merchants are going to be interested until it's a little more stable that it has been the past few years.

Personally, I believe Bitcoin isn't a bubble overall, but it's inevitable that we will go through bubbles throughout it's time.
6095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Move Bitcoin Wallet from Phone to Computer on: November 04, 2017, 08:01:06 PM
You can either send the funds from your phone to a completely new wallet on your computer and pay the fees or you could find the location where the wallet.dat is stored on the phone and copy it over using what ever method you want.

You could also export the private keys from your phone and import them into the new wallet on your desktop, depending on the security of your phone.
6096  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: unconfirmed on: November 04, 2017, 07:57:28 PM
blockchain.info is known for not handling fees correctly, and I would recommend that you start using a desktop wallet such as Bitcoin core, or Electrum or any of the wallets which give you full control over your funds. I would recommend Bitcoin core for hosting a full node, and Electrum as a light weight wallet.

Read a little more about this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1914800.0
6097  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned after asking info about ranking on: November 03, 2017, 11:11:19 AM
You were spamming referral links in posts which isn't allowed. It wasn't anything to do with the post that you made in meta, unless you included the referral link in that too. Nearly all the posts on that account from the 29th of October has a referral link in the post, your lucky you wasn't banned sooner. Referral links are only allowed in your signature.
6098  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org Account trading Legal/Illegal [VOTE] on: November 02, 2017, 01:30:52 PM
I think you're not understanding the problem, I didn't sell any account anywhere, who tell you I hacked accounts ? No one said that even

No, instead you farmed accounts to abuse a giveaway thread another thing which is frowned upon by the community, you also claim to have lost those accounts through a hack and then ask whether it's "legal" to sell accounts. It really doesn't look good, but at the end of the day you abused a giveaway with farmed accounts.

Selling accounts is allowed by the forum, as long as they haven't been obtained maliciously.
6099  Other / Meta / Re: Price for getting VIP should be reduced by looking at the price of bitcoin ? on: November 02, 2017, 01:13:00 PM
It's been discussed before, and the conclusion of the discussion was that it would be unfair to the ones that have donated in the past. theymos made it clear that the donation amounts will always be tied to Bitcoin value. Anyway, the main source of income for the forums is probably through advertisements rather than donations these days.

I believe there may of been talk of cheaper ranks being introduced but nothing came of it.
6100  Other / Meta / Re: Buying or selling bitcointalk account give you negative trust, agree ? on: November 02, 2017, 11:32:15 AM
Laud Negative trust still don't have a SOLID reason, I'm not involved in accounts trading, and 777coin giveaway not prohibiting people to post in their thread.
I owned multiple accounts and that's legal. I asked for a clarification about account selling and that's legal too.

It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, both account farming and abusing giveaways are frowned upon by the community. The trust system is also not moderated, therefore anyone can leave trust for whatever they consider justified. It's quite obvious that you made those accounts to solely abuse the giveaway thread, and was caught.

Now, what did you think was going to happen with this thread? You are a known account farmer, we know that you've abused giveaways. Therefore, I believe you've likely tried to abuse signature campaigns as well. You are also asking a question about selling accounts, when we know that you've farmed accounts in the past, if they have been stolen then why would you be asking this question?

I find it hard to believe that you would be concerned about newbies getting negative trust for selling accounts if you had nothing to do with it.
