Me too tbh, I’ve lived a bit of a false life since last year when I cashed in all my free BCH. HODLING bitcoin is boring as fuck, having all that money but not being able to spend any of it. Fucking cock tease. It’ll all be worth it in a few years though. Same. The funny thing is that I haven't actually cashed out anything. I just looked at my wealth increasing "on paper" last year, and stepped things up accordingly. Ate at fancier restaurants, flew first class, etc. Now I'm back to Taco Bell and flying coach. Well, at least it isn't Ramen 3 times a day and taking the bus. you can still afford to ride on a bus? damn. look at mr moneypants here Actually, I can afford to put an all beef hotdog in my Ramen and I do drive my own 2 years old car. Hatten zuvor nur eingefleischte Computerexperten von der Kryptowährung gehört, erklärte Ende 2017 sogar die «Bild»-Zeitung ihren Lesern alles Wissenswerte über Bitcoin. Mittlerweile pendelt der Preis für die älteste und wichtigste Kryptowährung um 7000 Dollar. Das ist zwar immer noch das Siebenfache dessen, was sie Anfang 2017 gekostet hat. Von Seiten privater Kleinanleger sei das Interesse dennoch weg, sagt ein Händler, der auf Bitcoin basierende Finanzprodukte anbietet. «Für viele war der plötzliche Preissturz ziemlich schmerzhaft und sie haben jetzt erstmal die Nase voll.» Wurde der Bitcoin-Boom manipuliert? Fast völlig vom Radar verschwunden sind ICOs, also Platzierungen neuer Cyber-Devisen mit dem Zweck der Finanzierung von Firmen in der Kryptobranche. Über sie wurden vor einem Jahr Studien zufolge weltweit noch Milliardengelder eingesammelt. «Mittlerweile investiert aber kaum noch jemand in ICOs», erklärt Philipp Sandner, Professor am Frankfurt School Blockchain Center. «Es ist schwierig geworden, damit Geld zu verdienen.» Viele Startups bekämen nur einen Bruchteil dessen, was sie ursprünglich geplant hatten, Projekte würden auf die lange Bank geschoben oder sogar komplett abgeblasen. Nur Länder wie Malta oder Luxemburg hätten Regeln für die Branche aufgestellt. Auch in der Schweiz und in manchen Ländern Asiens ist der ICO-Markt weitgehend geregelt - beziehungsweise wie in China ganz verboten. Die deutsche Finanzaufsicht BaFin hat mehrfach vor Anlagen in ICOs gewarnt, ein explizites Regelwerk dafür gibt es aber hierzulande nicht. «Die Branche braucht eine europaweit einheitliche Regulierung, an der aber auch schon gearbeitet wird», sagt Rechtsanwalt Felix Biedermann von der Kanzlei Simmons & Simmons. Hauptziel müsse sein, Investoren zu schützen und Vertrauen zu schaffen. Die EU-Kommission sieht allerdings keine Eile, um den Markt zu regulieren.
