So this is an absolute mess now... Inputs.io has been "hacked".... 4100 Bitcoins have been "lost" due to said "hack" Here's where things don't add up (I will updating the OP with a ton of misinformation , lies and deception on the part of TradeFortress) TradeFortress has stated Inputs.io did not have to worry about being hacked (at least having the wallet hacked) because the majority of the funds were in Cold Storage... Now the site gets "hacked" and 4100 Bitcoins (Current MTGoX Price of $1,266,900 USD) is lost!  TradeFortress refuses to refund anyone with balances lower then 1 Bitcoin and also refuses to actually state the routing of the hack (No TXiDs , No Real IP Logs , Nothing of any real factual information ie Made Up) Please feel free to post how much you lost from the Inputs.io hack as well any relevant information about any dealings you had with TradeFortress I highly recommend each of you regardless of what country you are in contact your District Attorney about pursuing legal action (If the amount was quite large) A partial refund IS NOT a refund and you have all the right to a full refund To everyone who has lost through this extremely brutal sprung of the moment "hack" I feel very sorry for you and this is another reason to never store any Cryptocurrency in a wallet you do not have direct access to *UPDATE* When cornered about the topic of affiliation with TradeFortress and Inputs.io Kluge laughed and said "lol ya the $100 was great..". I then gave him a -1 Trust Rating to which he gave me me a -5 Trust Rating (Donators can give more trust/distrust) simply stating "Lost Money". *MAJOR UPDATE* I fully expect to be banned for this but I feel wrong not disclosing this information. theymos on behalf of Bitcoin Talk openly promoted Inputs.io through banner ads and Donations even after being warned by the community several times that Inputs.io was highly unsecure to top it off he also gave him Default Trust allowing TradeFortress to have a Green Positive Rating regardless of any negative ratings issued. To top it off other Moderators and Staff are to blame as they have a direct link to Banner Ads and revenue affiliated with Bitcoin Talk but because they had no choice whether or not theymos chose to have affiliation with TradeFortress I am not listing them as outright Scammers. Kluge on the other hand has yet to remove his Inputs.io signature and is still openly promoting TradeFortress and Inputs.io. A significant amount of other Donators and Shills are posting nothing but compliments for TradeFortress and refuse to stop promoting the site which leads me to believe they are taking a sigificant cut of this "hack" (The one TradeFortress staged) I had a balance below 1 BTC so I am not eligable for a refund :S. I still have some coins in my wallet (they were sent after the attack), but I can't withdraw them.

Now, in order to prove an actual crime, one must prove intent. You can steal $1 million and refund 50%-60% and remove intent, thus avoid legal prosecution. You may also be able to maintain your reputation so you can get ready for the next scam because the community will be divided as to whether you are an actual scammer. Running only makes you look guilty and that's why he's making appearances. This tactic is not new and TF is running it to perfection. The victims all take a haircut and he walks away free and clear with a 6 figure score.
TF is not a dumb guy and there is no way a hack occurred as described, out of ignorance. This was a deliberate heist, that was likely planned from input.io's inception. Anyone not smart enough to see that, deserves to lose their money in the future. and what if he eventually repays everyone back the full amount? Good way of supporting him. When every dime is repaid to every person who got scammed, I would GLADLY offer a public apology. Until then, I have not and will not support this clown. I knew he was a scammer and NEVER would have considered giving this guy any money. Not that it's a significant amount, but I thought I'd add my little story. I had an inputs account for my faucet, and had like 0.01 BTC stolen (which was like 3/4 of what was in there). I emailed the contact address, and was told it would get reimbursed. I thought this was strange since nothing was mentioned about how or why it happened, even though I asked. I assumed someone had hacked my faucet or something. After a few days, no reimbursement of course. I emailed again yesterday, and was told to "see the homepage", and saw the hacked notification. So was I the first or second wave of hacked accounts? Who knows.

I'm thinking of starting a company that will invest in HYIPs with Liberty Reserve. Generally, HYIPs stay afloat for a few months and then disappear after there is not enough new members joining to pay back the previous ones. I will attempt to minimize the risk by spreading it out and withdrawing early, not keeping it inside the scams. Interest will be around 7% weekly, and it's not a ponzi scheme! Because of diversification and strategic withdraws (everyone who withdrawn from Pirate before the default profited massively), I should be able to provide high returns at moderate risk.
So, someone needs to start a total anonymous identityless exchange.
People can't even get their funds back from exchange owners whose identities are known. What makes you think that anyone who sets up a totally anonymous exchange is going to be trustworthy? because it would be trustable over time? I've just received a refund as well. He really is doing his best from what it seems. There will always be speculation as to what happened and what is happening. That's life. What is apparent now are his actions which are forthcoming and outright. It's hard to deal with the cynicism on these forums sometimes which may be why he's just doing business on a case by case basis outside of these forums.

I have many problems with this. - "We" refers to one person, am I correct?
- Why were deposits and withdrawal not disabled?
- If the hack occurred in October, how is it possible API keys were compromised in November and money was stolen?
- Why was the "hot pocket" not immediately emptied after the hack?
1. No. Inputs.io isn't just me, although I do the majority of the work. 2. They were in limited capacity. A withdrawal amount limit didn't work as people simply broke up. 3. The hacker dumped API keys and PIN from the DB. API keys (re)generated after the hack haven't being stolen. 4. The attacker didn't take all of the BTCs, perhaps wanting to remain undetected and steal more. I don't understand how people who made deposits to inputs (then onto coinlenders) well after the attack are out money. The amount has been withdrawn in full by other users. There was a limit designed to prevent much of that, but it was per transaction and people got around it. And allowed people to continue to deposit, as I did?? Please don't, although if you deposited very recently you should get 100%. It'll be handled on a case by case basis, specify that in the email. Wait so YOU decided when you were Inside Jobbing it up to leave a bunch unstolen? |

It's Closed Beta right now but you can sign up for the Closed Beta for free on http://battle.net by submitting your computer specs under the Beta Profiles Section of your Battle.net Account I would also highly recommend you DO NOT purchase a Hearthstone Beta Key as YOU WILL GET BANNED and the person who sold you it WILL GET BANNED too Blizzard Entertainment has a strict policy against selling of Closed Beta Keys as well as selling of Gold/Items for Actual Physical Currency in World of Warcraft and all their games in general Certain things are ok with them ie if you are selling World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Loot Codes , World of Warcraft Trading Cards , Selling Gold in Diablo 3 on The Real Money Auction House or selling Diablo 3 items on The Real Money Auction House Mostly though Blizzard don't like that stuff man and for your own safety don't even attempt it You will get into Hearthstone eventually and it's going to be a Free to Play game when it finally releases Open Beta is coming up in the not too distant future where everyone will be able to try the game before it's Official release Requesting the Closed Beta Key now would be almost useless, you will recieve your key probably 1 month before the official relrease/OBT release or it will happen first than receiving the CBT Key. I sold a key, and I'm still playing Starcraft2 happily and the buyer is playing HeartStone happily. I don't think that Blizzard keeps track of which sent key and his/her rspective owner. Not that it was legal, following the Terms I'm wrong, but banning both players is just stupid. It woul result in loss of money removing players, aka customers, only because a free key were sold. It's a Closed Beta so they DO NOT WANT ADDITIONAL PEOPLE 2. It's not going to cost money to play as it's FREE TO PLAY game 3. They are not losing players or customers because they DO NOT WANT ADDITIONAL PLAYERS IN THE CLOSED BETA THEY HAVEN'T ASSIGNED SERVERS OR HARDWARE TO FEED THOSE PLAYERS 4. Blizzard don't give 2 halves of a quarter of a fuck about banning people that are making money off THEIR game. It's THEIR game... THEY want to make money off it.. NO ONE ELSE! 5. It's not going into Open Beta immediately... There are countless amounts of bugs still in the game and the Open Beta is a long way away... That being said the Official release will probably not be out to mid 2014 if not later... |
