621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Identifying promising projects for investing on: December 31, 2013, 11:12:19 PM
Being an international investor is very complicated since keeping track of the project and your investment becomes difficult.
Look into your local area for start-up contests or make your own.
Other way is to go into dev communities of the topic you are interested on and see if anyone need help with a project you like.

another recommendation: don't just spend your money on something that you like. Invest in something that will give you profit. If the risk of not turning a profit is too high, don't invest. even if you love the product.
622  Other / Off-topic / Re: 3D printing is overrated? on: December 31, 2013, 08:33:05 PM
3D printing is perfect for prototyping for example.
An initial invest of 1 or 2 thousand dollars will get you a pretty decent 3D printer and then the materials for printing 1 prototype goes around 40$ or 100$
It gives you a 3D representation of a product and depending of the product it can be tested just with that or not.

Industrial equivalent before 3D printing was to just stick with sketches or virtual representations that were not tangible or couldn't be tested until production starts.
An injection mold itself costs as much as a 3D printer and the machine that does the injections go for the hundreds of thousands.

On a more casual industry and where printers are going for now, is for home use. You can print useful plastic gadgets, create your own and even print figurines if you are into that.
you could do something like this in a couple of hours

print it and then paint it.

624  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paying Bitcoins for people to test and give feedback for my first Java game! on: December 29, 2013, 06:05:23 PM
If you want to continue game dev in Java I recommend you to move away from swing as soon as possible and start looking into JavaFX
I made this project for my java class in uni to learn javaFX. It took me 2 weeks to finish and fully understand how to work with transitions in javafx as managed threads and how to prepare objects for the java garbage collector (which was very important since I was loading assets like crazy for this game)

That's the game, I can provide you with the source code if you want to.
625  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoins ruined my life on: December 29, 2013, 05:57:49 PM
There is one thing that pisses me off.
If you want money, work for it. There is no such thing as easy money. If you want bitcoins, work for bitcoins. If you want dollars work for dollars or any other currency.
If you want to become rich, act smart, stop complaining. You wont make a penny by sitting your ass doing nothing.
Most people think rich people can just stop working, have a nice life without cares. Thats completely wrong, someone rich is rich because he or she worked their asses to get where they are and most of the time they have an horrendous schedule of 15+ work hours per day. Only complete dedication will get you success.
626  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: SELL Verified Paypal Accounts. on: December 27, 2013, 07:50:47 PM
I'm not really sure of the legality of this since you are making multiple debit cards in your bank, but not for your personal use...
If I from Peru could open a premier Paypal account, I'm pretty sure anyone with access to a VISA debit or credit card can open a verified paypal account.

631  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin funded console game on: December 25, 2013, 08:41:34 PM
Just one more thing which I don't think you have clear or I might not be getting that you have it clear.
Crowd funding contributors and investors are 2 completely different things.

Contributors are willing to pay and donate their money so that your game can succeed. Some contributors have deeper pockets than others but in the end all of them are doing a donation. What they will get in return when you finish developing is your final product and the rewards you promised. Again, this are donations and that's why you want to keep the tiers as low as possible and don't filter out little donations.

Investors are not going to donate money to you, but it is a good way to get big amounts of money for a start up. An investor objective is to make money out of you, so if someone invests say 100k$ on you, that investor expects to have a return bigger than that when the project is up and running.

Back in the day crowd funding was not a thing and the only way to approach development of a big product was by getting sharks on your side (investors are often called sharks), you will give out part of your company, sales or net profit to that investors in order to get the money you need to develop the product. Now with crowd funding the table flipped and it is known that people are willing to pay in advance for products that they think they will like once finished and are willing to help the development by giving their money to the developers directly, that way the devs don't need to go and seek for investor and can keep the whole property of the product. This was a huge flip for investors since now days crowd funding is pretty common and not having to give up part of your product to investors is a huge plus.

If you still want to seek for investors (which are the only ones that are not millionaire philanthropists and will give you the amount of money you are asking for most of your tiers), then you have to make it clear: If I were to invest 100k $ in your product, in how much time will I see my money back and how much will that investment give me as return in the next 3 years ?

Situations where you are certain to need investors:
Crowd funding had some projects that raised millions of dollars out of donations to develop products, but if you are working on a product where even that amount of money is not enough, then you might need to approach investors.

You are much time away from finishing the product, but you need money to continue developing and see that hype will only damage your product. You can seek for little investors in order to keep your project secret until the time is right to hype it up.

633  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [CONCEPT] Blockchain-based Minecraft-like game on: December 25, 2013, 06:32:39 PM
You could implement a system on minecraft as a mod but..
The only way I can see this working is to have a wallet backing up the server with an amount of bitcoin that can back up the amount of diamond on the server.
and let the users trade their diamond for bitcoin and balance the price with the profitability of ingame ad revenue.
And to make it profitable and worth of developing, charge taxes or special fees on land or trades.
634  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin funded console game on: December 25, 2013, 06:19:27 PM
From a fellow game dev, I think you should take this advice:

*Advance a little more the project to something you can showcase and get people hyped.
Since you are looking for crowdfunding, use kickstarter or indiegogo and make sure that you can deliver the game a year after the funding campaign ends or earlier. Otherwise hype will have a negative impact on you.

*The tiers are abusive. you are practically asking for 600$ for a copy of your game. Being an early adopter is not a plus for the customer, it is only a plus for the developing company, take that in consideration.
200BTC from 1 person is not proper for crowdfunding. That amount of money is an investment, you can't expect for someone to invest 120k$ on the development of your product without getting some return of the sales.

*When you are going for crowd funding, you want to set your rewards as low as possible and get a lot of people in the boat.
If you want few people investing lots of money, look for investors, but you will need to provide return, there is no such thing as free money.

*If you are going for a massive crowd your tiers should be something like this (Inclusive rewards):

1$ or less:
Our Sincere Thank you for contributing to the development of our game.
10$ or less:
A heads up from our main twitter @yourcompanytwitter
40$ or less:
A special mention in the credits of our game
A Digital copy of the game
60$ or less
A special early adopter T-Shirt
100$
A physical copy of the game
A poster
150$
All DLC + Sountrack
200$
You get all the physical rewards signed by the whole team

And so on.

*£400 for a character storyboard is ok if it contains the character concept and involvement in the game, The creator of the game haves to plan the whole process and while not underpaying your artist you need to make sure that they are not making things that they won't use and charge you for it (It happens often).

And at last.
*why do you want to do an XBOX game? I hope you are early enough on development to rethink that. If you need crowdfunding, going for a console tittle is out of the question. Doing an XBOX live game is really easy and there are not many barriers, but contacting microsoft buying the licence and having your game published as a full game is quite the barrier and it is quite expensive. Since you are not going under a trusted Microsoft publisher, they will most likely deny you the licence if you can't prove that your game is worth. Worth not in terms of quality, but in numbers (projected sales)

I hope you find this useful and really take in consideration this advice. Merry Christmass

It might be where you are uploading them.
there are some processing scripts so that images are not as heavy in some sites.
try http://imgur.com/ ?

I am uploading them on my server there are no limits there. And when i enter direct link the quality is 100% better

Well i see the changes check the helmet on one picture that goes from forum proxy is bad quality check the letter O in the name DOE same as helmet shitty quality.
You are right, it takes a while but the forum changes the linking of images to go through a proxy which lowers the quality of the images.

Oh, I see. I didn't have that clear. I though you wanted a redesign similar to your illustration.
I'll hold on the logo then as you suggest and I'll put up a certificate example after holydays.

-Merry Christmas
639  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is following possible with programming? on: December 24, 2013, 04:44:22 PM
* Because of how TCP/IP packets work over the internet network, collisions are not really a concern so sending them at the same time is not a problem.
* Problem with your concept: 1 person can have multiple wallets and the way transactions work is they get the bitcoin from any of your wallet addresses before sending.

♦ Best way to approach a system like that is with custom wallets, you can create a special receive wallet for each customer you have, that way there will be no confusion.
