Well, generally people don't have clusters. They are expensive! Each rig would probably be 2K-3K Builds with liquid cooling and 8 GPUs.

No I am not, I prefer comedies. Seriously, if we can get The American Dream Film guys to make a Bitcoin movie it would be great!

A quote from the beginning of THIS THREAD....

Next big target is the all time high around 0.08

Those who are pessimists will always be pessimists.    Smiley

Meanwhile....  those who are putting ALL of their money into bitcoin......    are very pleased.    Smiley

A 666% increase in 3 months time....   How much is THAT annually...?   2664% per year?

Hey, magic must be involved. You consulted with *censored* and must be burned alive.
D:>   <---Tin Hat

LOL just joking. This is awesome! Going to start a market here in Mexico when I figure RoR out.
627  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitehats on: January 13, 2011, 07:13:17 PM
If there is a vulnerability someone can exploit it. If there is a vulnerability in the protocol the whole blockchain will have to be rebuild!(Even if it is not directly attacked)

If an attacker succeeds then he has enough time to make his hand with about $5k USD before we even realize it.
628  Economy / Economics / Re: Did the cryptography revolution begin too late? on: January 13, 2011, 04:44:35 PM
Here is the bigger question.

We already have FreeNets.
We already have Bittorrent for filesharing.
We have BitCoin for money.
DNS in progress
Any more already implemented or being implemented?

Can we decentralize governments, crowd-funding/crowd-sourcing, etc? What can't we decentralize at this moment?

630  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitehats on: January 13, 2011, 04:02:14 PM
That would be great! Apart, I am sure they would love Bitcoin. Smiley
631  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitehats on: January 13, 2011, 03:07:17 PM
Well, there is the "if you can find a way to exploit it you keep any coins you make". MtGox made a jump to 0.4 USD per BTC and I am sure you could make at least 5K USD fast enough before someones notices the attack.(A new nice gaming rig <3)

As a matter of fact I am so confident it will resist any attack that I could go taunt the *Hats and SKiddies with botnets to bring their asses here and not be able to exploit it at all. Also, there IS a test network with a separate blockchain than the official one.
632  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitehats on: January 13, 2011, 02:47:33 PM
Well, I like HNN, reddit, slashdot, HTS, and I am part of a gaming community. Tongue

What do you like? What websites do you visit?
633  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin parity. on: January 13, 2011, 02:26:27 PM
MtGox just made a jump. We are at 0.4 USD per BTC now. Cheesy
634  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitehats on: January 13, 2011, 01:48:54 PM
I considered myself a Whitehat. Just recently I found a security hole in pastecoin which allowed an attacker to upload shells and practically root the server. I  notified the owner of the issue and now it is fixed. Smiley

I am just a newby though. I still need to learn C++ to inspect the main project.
635  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Promoting bitcoins to teenagers on: January 13, 2011, 03:38:25 AM
Well, most of my friends are console newby gamers. xD Here in Mexico there aren't much Computer Gamers and few even know how to build their rig. Some even don't have CUDA or OpenCL capable GPUs so afaik they are mining in slush's pool. Smiley

I am also right now doing the BitcoinMe spanish translations though, I don't have much time to do it with my hw. >_<

Actually, it was his reference to $3 USD a day that prompted me to say that. Simple people think that money is valuable and equate the lack thereof with poverty. They look at those with money as somehow being responsible for their own deprivations.

The perfect tool for a would-be tyrant.

The issue is that this people can barely keep themselves alive. They are in sub-sustainable condition and I had been giving food and doing social service for the good of all. This month it is expected a 5% inflation and it is just worsening the situation for those people. There are still natives that only live with food and have no single penny. I am saying that the situation must improve for them because 40% of the population is fighting for daily survival. They cannot form ventures nor educate themselves nor their children. I am not putting the blame on them. I am just pointing out this facts. It is really shocking to pass trough this experiences.

Nanaimo, I was over there last year(In Victoria also visited the surroundings). Studied there for the whole 9th grade. It is very different from our definition of poverty. I studied in a public school; met many souls. Many of them were by your definition in the low-class poor. The father had 1 job in the minimum wage. Yet they didn't struggle for survival. They played Basketball or any other sport/activity. They went to the store and bought energetic drinks. I even met some who worked for their money/purchasing power to buy superficial goods. Here it is a different story. I invite you to come. I could even welcome you at my home and show you the surroundings. PM if you want the address and time to meet up. No spanish required I could be your interpreter.

I am not blaming the Big Guys, I am blaming the poor regulation over minimum wages which should be a little higher at least. How can you support a family with 2 jobs x 2 parents?(12 USD daily) How can they even sustain themselves? How can they afford housing? Food? Retirement when the age comes?
637  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Promoting bitcoins to teenagers on: January 13, 2011, 03:12:07 AM
Hey! You know me. I am 15 years old(16 this Saturday Cheesy) and had been promoting Bitcoin to my buddies.(Already signed up like 7 guys) I also contribute with a 5870. Cool

BTW, if we could get a good comedy animated movie of Bitcoins it would be great! Cheesy
638  Other / Off-topic / Re: THE MADNESS OF A LOST SOCIETY on: January 12, 2011, 05:45:54 PM
Well, here in Mexico about 40% of the population(Around 50 million ppl) live in a really bad situation were they can barely keep themselves alive. There are kids who eat once a day and it is really that bad. Now imagine what would happen to them with the USA Quantitative Easing taking place here in Mexico. They cannot sign a loan because they don't have means to pay. They cannot save money because it most be spent for food. I had even sen little boys taking a shower in fountains here in Mexico City. This month alone the inflation is about 5%. The minimum wage is 49 MXN DAILY for a full time job. That is about $3 USD a day for you to eat, pay for housing, and save for your retirement. We have the wealthiest man of the world(Carlos Slim) and yet many of us can barely survive. :/
