Just keep it and see the progress for a few weeks, if still no improvement you can sell with low price or just forget you got the coin, it is a usual thing when you invest in some alt coins, I ever experienced it and until now that coin still in my exchanger wallet, the price is very low and I prefer to keep it

So my initial plan was to invest more into bitcoin on a weekly basis but with the possibility of a split on August 1st I figured I'd wait a little. If there would be a split, there would certainly be a drop in price so maybe a good opportunity to pick some more up rather than doing it now. Normally I tend to make these kind of decisions for myself but since I don't fully understand what will happen August 1st I figured this would be the best place to ask.
This is the main effect of the upcoming "August 1st" thing, it brings uncertainties to the users. I believe that as we approach that day, we will experience so much volatility. Some might panic sell because they are uncertain what will happen to the price when August 1 arrives. As an investor, it is normal. But we are talking about Bitcoin here. No matter what price we buy, we will have a profit from it and it depends on the time, the duration for how long we will hold our coins. It is good to buy now because it is expected that the price will soar high after the activation of segwit on August 1. But if you are still uncertain, buy 50% of your money now and the remaining 50% is after the activation. That way, you will have a profit regardless on whether the price soars up or down. Perfectly said, if you are uncertain about the price after August 1, then better split and buy it so that if their is dump in price after that day then you will be able to buy some more on low rates. I have done the same and buying slowly on low and keeping my 50% of the investment on hold. |

the answer is the same as the answer i gave to people a couple of months back asking "why prices are going up?". it is all about the pump and dumps. when prices are going up everyone is happy and nobody cares that all these altcoins are going up for no reason (getting pumped) now they are getting dumped for no reason too, as the investors take their money out of them. Perfectly said now the investors are taking their profit and converting it to btc as the price in btc is low and all are expecting to rise high so automatically all altcoins will start to dump. This is what trading is done on profit booking. |

I and many others just hold their bitcoins and wait till it gets worth more. But that is not how a currency should work. A currency is meant to be used in daily trades for groceries and so on.

No one can define the actual use of bitcoin as currency. Probably the actual applications of bitcoin in should be two and the people are doing perfect already. Yes, the people who are using bitcoins for both investments and as currency. But, I agree the percentage of people who will be using bitcoin as currency must be significantly lower. But we can hope it will improve in coming days. The main reason of not using bitcoin as currency by most of them are due to fluctuation of the price and small business peoples are afraid of this fluctuation as it is fluctuating daily on 10% basis. When the price gets stable and only moves low then only we can see bitcoin getting accepted in all types of business. |
