622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer B3+ Review - Why you should never buy a Pandaminer B3+ / B1 on: June 08, 2017, 03:50:30 PM
open and replug them all in.  Some do get loose in shipping.  That being said you have a gen 1 panda b3 like mine.  the new ones are 5 fans front and 4 back.  You will have heat problems if you live in a hot environment.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer B3+ Review - Why you should never buy a Pandaminer B1 or B3+ on: June 08, 2017, 08:35:05 AM
the B1 has issues in heat and it will fry the PSU.  I swapped only B1 PSU for a different PS and there are no problems

If you fried your B3 its because of that shitty power inverter you have.  I have not had issues at all with them.

Not saying they are great, but they are ok.
The pandaminer distributor sold the transformer to me with the panda, for the record. How would I have fried it and if so how does a fried rig operate?

That's why i said IF YOUR fried it.  You have a picture of a fried board on your first post.  These "distributors" are idiots btw.  Don't take anything they tell you as the truth hehe.

download from AMD site 16.9.1 I know those work on a reload.
Did you have to reload drivers on your panda?

Yeah on a few of them not all.  All updates were disabled but yet fookin windows pushed it anyway

So you expect all these services to be free?  lol
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: May 22, 2017, 05:55:09 PM
of course bad cables would cause a melt down.  If they are too thin to handle the amps.  But an improper connection as in loose on the pins would cause the same thing.  I bought extra plugs to combat this lol.

well the 2 split cable are pulling more juice on less wire.

and if the pins are flawed in the least  it is a double stress test on 2 cables and 4 sets of pins.

So look for more of it to happen  as the summer heats up.

Or you:

1. Do NOT dual mine
2. Use a decent rom so the gpu's don't require a shitton of power Wink

No issues whatsoever so far.

I am using your mod and NOT dual mining fool!  LOL  Tongue

It's 100% the heat.  Since Eliovp lives in the fookin ice he would never see this.

Mouser has them.  I just had to make a repair like that on one of my B1's.  FYI it's a total whore to fix, take your time.

were you using the POS  oem psu?

yep they seem pretty decent but I can see where it would be the PSU.  I have 36 of them and thats the first I have seen ant it was a 90 degree day

That's it! Thanks!  I got hit with a burned one yesterday on the old B1 units.  LOL old its like 5 months old.

635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Panda B3+ Review ! on: May 16, 2017, 06:48:24 AM
and Eliovp has his.  It's been forever though the second and third batch should of been delivered.

How are the running mate? No problems with them so far?
Happy with them overall?

I'm in Texas, so heat is a factor for these 3 fan units.  You all should be getting 5 fan ones and that should be hella better in the air flow department.  It was 90F yesterday and they went from 238 to about 190-200 because they were burning up.  HOPEFULLY you all get the 5 fan models.  I'll post a picture of that when I get home from out of town of those.  I have one of those as well.

638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Panda B3+ Review ! on: April 28, 2017, 10:05:23 AM
All I use is EVGA 1300.  It is a rock solid PS plus 10 year freaking warranty is unbelievable.  I'm sure there are others that are great out there but 10 years OMG.  Oh yeah and OMG ETH =)
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Panda B3+ Review ! on: April 25, 2017, 06:28:31 PM
none at smiliar price there is nothing out there that inexpensive.  Best evga 1600

What do you guys think of the stock B3+ PSU?

good enough? or buy something else?

Not really sure how important the PSU is in rigs like these.

I ahve a ton of them and the PS seems pretty decent.  I would not hesitate to buy them if I were you all.  240V ONLY POWER SUPPLY be mindful of that.
I also have a bunch of there PSU together with the B1 miner. All are running totaly okay since january now.

What about efficiency?

Have you guys tried plugging your Panda's into a brand name high rated PSU and compared the power usage?

they are 83 or 85% at best.

I compared my panda psu to this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-TOKAMAK-1500W-Full-Modular-Power-Supply-80-PLUS-TITANIUM-Certified-/172455843785?

watts were 80 different.  but the psu costs more.  80 watts is 2 kwatts a day about 20 cents  so in a year it is 73 dollars  I can get the titanium for 250 usd  on sale that is a lot more then the  cheap oem. it would take 2 years or more to pay for itself

there is a photo of a burnt oem psu.

Ya but it looked like he had it in a heat box with the picture I saw.  Not standing up for the PSU, its not an EVGA or anything but it is decent for the $ for sure.
