All sources had their source Merit adjusted and thus reset to the full amount. I'm aiming to empty mine in 30 days, so long term I expect my monthly distribution to increase by about 400 now.
It makes sense, with each 175% increase of each source's merit allocation, in the long run, merit distribution weekly will do increase as well. Let's look at the past week, what happened? After excluding theymos' effects, we have 291% increase compares to the median of weekly merits (before 2019w46) at 4521. . di (14251-1071)/4521*100

As being said, after the bias-effects from theymos and the Art contest cool down, I expect the figure will be somewhere closely to the increases of merit allocation for each source (compares to 4521). Nevertheless, I have a big curious question for myself: Will luckily ranked-up users with generous supports from the Art contest perform well in coming months? From my observations, most of them stucked for months (with very very little earned merits - that somehow represents their post quality and contributions) and I believe their post quality will probably not change too much in coming months. I also hope that all merit sources will maintain their strict rules when giving merits away. The forum does not need a new-era shitposters who will destroy what merit system and our community built up well so far.

ABSTRACT- The forum users distributed 8659 merits more what they usually did in most of half previous weeks at 4521 (the median of weekly merits).
- There is nearly 292% increase in the total merits last week, compares to median of weekly merits (before 2019w46) at 4521.
We all know that theymos sent thousands of merits in his merit sprees. From my discussion with @fillippone, I ask myself that are there any significant effects from increased reallocation of merits to merit sources? Those days fit well in the period of the last week, 2019w46, that has 14251 merits distributed in total (see in the 3 rd in column of weeklyrank. The 2019w46 is from 12/11/ to 18/11/2019,, in GMT time (not forum time). So there is a little lag (hours) between two datasets. A raw caculation from merits (with all possible effects from Art contest - excludes theymos' sent-merits, new merit sources, newly increased sMerits allocation, and the others), we have: Unbelievable! It means that the forum community were extremely active last week in the way they use their merits. They sent 8659 merits more than they usually did in previous weeks (at 4521, the weekly median).

A raw caculation from merits (with all possible effects from Art contest - excludes theymos' sent-merits, new merit sources, newly increased sMerits allocation, and the others), we have: Unbelievable! Update:- The forum users distributed 8659 merits more what they usually did in most of half previous weeks at 4521 (the median of weekly merits).
- There is nearly 292% increase in the total merits last week, compares to median of weekly merits (before 2019w46) at 4521.

The last week (2019w46) is the third highest week since the merit system released. - Median (interquartile range) of weekly earned merits for the group of 1-25 is 13 (4 - 28), that is significantly higher than the figures of last 3 groups: 26-50 ( 8 ), 51-75 (7), and 76-100 (7).
- Min - max: 0 and 145, respectively.

- Weekly earned merits: are not exacly weekly in Calendar day; and come from theymos' merit data dumps and LoyceV's data update. See

LOL. You're just about as cynical as I am. Members were starting to create their own threads about the anniversary if I'm not mistaken, and they all struck me as merit-grabbing attempts. You kind of have to have been on the forum a while to really be cheerful that it's been around for ten years. I highly doubt Jr. Members care all that much.
I have same feelings and from my raw data in Top-100 merited-artists in the 10th anniversary art contest, I believe there are hundreds of users ranked up within the art contest period, and there are users collected enough merits for their next ranks and only waited for enough activities. Some of them stucked for months/ years since the birthday of merit system, but fastly ranked up with the art contest. I want to do a topic on "How many Artists collected enough merits to rank up from the Art contest" but I am lack of skills to scrap data. I think data-scraping experts like @LoyceV and @DdmrDdmr can do this. LoyceV presented data in The future of Bitcointalk: Low Ranking Top Merit earners in the past 30 days. Quickly glance at stats, I saw lots of artists in the list. |

Update with plots: You can see in the first plot, a box plot, there is a red circle that represents an outlier. Who is presented by that red circle? Dannybrown. There is only one outlier and in my opinion, I am sure dannybrown will be one of winners.

If you are going to be using Tor, then it might be worthwhile bookmarking your captcha bypass login link that you can access here ( https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php), as otherwise you'll be filling in captchas for 10 minutes every time you want to log in. This is a little misinformation too. Sometimes I can log in with Tor browser within several seconds, with my first attempt. In contrast, sometimes I have to spend around several minutes (maybe longer than 10 minutes, up to 30 minutes - in such cases I get mad with failed attempts) after so many failed attempts - that what you mentioned correctly. For capcha code, I have my videos for newbies here: CapchaBypass for accounts on Bitcointalk.orgSome of my notes: - For all ranks, even Brandnew (the account I used for the video is a brandnew)
- keyword combination: bitcointalk.org (to avoid phishing forum) + capcha + bypass
- Log in once to see your capcha code
- Save and secure your capcha code to avoid hack (by bruteforce your password)
- Once you log in with capcha code, you will no longer see the Capcha section in the Login Box.

The data used in the thread is at 2019-11-23_Sat_06.07h (Amsterdam time), so your total earned merits presents in my thread is not your current ones. A little bit inconsistency. |
