6341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Yahoo!! Bitcoin Rising Up 188$ on: October 22, 2013, 02:33:13 PM
It already happen before. Suddenly rise high and then drop.
I'm convinced that this is a characteristic of bitcoin that will be with us for a long time.
6342  Economy / Speculation / Re: false signal resulted rally in China, and it won't stop. on: October 21, 2013, 03:39:37 PM
Thank you for the interesting analysis.
6343  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DO NOT USE MT GOX - MtGox requires photo ID for BTC transactions now! on: October 21, 2013, 03:18:23 PM
I would add that people are sometimes confusing this with bitcoin. The reason Gox and others are requiring proof of identity is because of fiat currency. Fiat currency is not yours to do with what you like. You are authorized to use it for your transactions, but it is not yours. For example, it is illegal to destroy your own $USD because it is not yours to destroy. Mixing btc with fiat will always result in taxes, laws, governmental whims, etc.

Just keep your holdings in bitcoin and forget about "cashing out". Bitcoins are yours , you can even destroy them.
6344  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: And if half of the miners turn off their hardwares ? on: October 21, 2013, 03:03:21 PM
What if 90% of us deleted our wallets!!!11!! A 90% attack!  Shocked
6345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone worried how fast BTC is climbing in price? on: October 21, 2013, 03:01:21 PM
I'm not "worried", but I do think a crash of some kind will follow this rise. That is the nature of the game. No worries. Long term we look great right now.
6346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins you are holding *NO TROLLING on: October 21, 2013, 02:58:52 PM

6347  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is about to explode. on: October 21, 2013, 02:40:28 PM
And?
No one will pay 1000k usd for a bottle of water.
No one will pay 1000k usd for a virtual crap that can disappear at any time.
Why? because they will only pay $200?
6348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for recent price hike on: October 21, 2013, 02:23:22 PM
It is at least in part coming from China. But it is also true that good news abounds elsewhere. A lot of upward pressure on price.
6349  Economy / Economics / Re: US Government Shutdown on: October 18, 2013, 08:33:35 PM
So when will all the museums and national parks reopen?
Yes. I wonder what is left of them? An exception was made for the mining industry. While hikers were arrested for entering the park, miners were working without oversight.  Angry
6350  Economy / Speculation / Re: So who sold below $100 during the SR "crash"? on: October 18, 2013, 08:28:33 PM
I'm no financial genius, but try doing the opposite of what others are doing. I make the most money buying when everyone is selling and spending when everyone else is buying.
6351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Yale Professor Surprise: Tea Party Supporters More Scientifically Literate than on: October 18, 2013, 08:19:14 PM
Ya know, the day the Tea party and Occupy wall street figure out they are fighting the same people is the day entrenched power collapses.

Word Cool
6352  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The problem with atheism. on: October 18, 2013, 08:15:09 PM
Why is everyone trippin on Dank. In a world of Gods he should be taken seriously as it is perfectly possible that he is God. He should not have to provide anyone with any proof. Gods do not have to do such things, you should believe even though everything you know contradicts it. That is faith.

I know most of you hate it when I quote scriptures on here but I could not resist on this one:

Luke 21:8
He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them.

Jesus predicted that there would be people like Dank.

If Dank says that he is the only true God... well, you see where I'm going.
P.S. I don't hate the scripture quotes. I'm impressed that you know them. And to be clear, I think the Bible is a wise book. Filled with ancient knowledge about how to live with others.
6353  Economy / Goods / Re: Come in and Trade Ammo or Talk about Guns! on: October 18, 2013, 05:56:52 PM
Nice!  I have one too in .308 (with a Leupold scope)

Farthest I have shot mine was 365 yards. One shot that dropped an elk.  Hoping that ammo prices lower so I can take it out more and expand my distance.

A couple weeks ago, 13 year old son dropped his first elk with it..... at 20 feet!  Should have attached a bayonet to the end and saved the ammo. Wink
20 ft.?!? Were you hunting at the zoo?  Cheesy No, nice job. How many 13yr. olds can feed their family through the winter.
I'm still trying to gather dope on my gun. So far it has performed best with some retail Hornady "American whitetail" ammo in 150gr. This weekend I'm trying hand loads in 147, 168, and 175gr. What about yours, what ammo does it like to eat? As you mentioned, it is too expensive to waste ammo.

Oh, P.S. I was going to save for a Leupold scope. But Then I found out that Vortex headquarters is a few miles from my house.

6354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling bitcoins question on: October 18, 2013, 05:27:22 PM
OP, you're going to get a flood of replies from newbies eager to buy your BTC with PayPal Grin
And OP, Tomatocage is the kind of guy who I would sell to.  Smiley He earned that high trust rating.

Got my new toy together and zeroed in. This weekend we try it at 1000yds.

[IMG ]Big ass jpeg [ /img]

Is that a Remington 700 PSS?
700 Police in .308. with 20moa base, matched rings, Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP scope. It is by far the most accurate rifle I have owned. So far I have only shot it at 100yds. But at that distance I can shoot a dime.
I am new to precision distance shooting, but I love it. A combination of shooting and mathematics! What's not to love.
6356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling bitcoins question on: October 18, 2013, 04:21:08 PM
does anyone know of a legit place to sell bitcoins in exchange for paypal cash?
I would not use PayPal, certainly not with a stranger. It is against their TOS. So if the person who buys your coins does a chargeback you may be screwed. Your account may be locked, your coins are gone, your money is gone. Your fate is really up to the buyer.
You may want to try localbitcoins, craigslist or other face-to-face transactions. I assume you don't want to use an exchange.
6357  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about those that helped bring Silk road down? on: October 18, 2013, 04:02:40 PM
It was a positive step for the bitcoin community, but of course they are rats.
6358  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US health care mandate (Obamacare) on: October 18, 2013, 04:00:35 PM
Again, still waiting for the great stories about wonderfully low priced health insurance.

Coinseeker?  RodeoX?  Anybody?
Here's my story.  The insurance bill, which we pay quarterly as self employed, came in today.  50% higher than the previous bill of 3 months ago and 2x what we were paying in 2009.

It's a movie script starring you and I.

Called "Government Gone Wild".

But let me state the obvious.  That's  an extra $1000 per month that my family will NOT BE SPENDING in the open market for goods and services.  So before you get too excited about OBubble-Care think about what if you were working in one of the businesses that just lost my, and many other peoples', $1000 per month.

You could be in any form of entertainment, restaurant, travel business, that is based on disposable income.  Let's see how that works out.

So you signed up for Obama-care and it was 50% higher? That is a bummer. I have not had a chance to sigh up yet myself, but I was hoping for a better price.

Wait, or are you saying that your insurance company raised the rate and you did not sign up for Obama-care. Because that is a different story.
6359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Yale Professor Surprise: Tea Party Supporters More Scientifically Literate than on: October 18, 2013, 03:55:52 PM
I'm surprised also. But in science we look at data rather than check our gut feelings. Assuming the study was valid, the results are what they are.
6360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats stopping the worlds richest from buying all the coins? on: October 18, 2013, 03:52:47 PM
The rich are welcome to buy as much as they want. But they will have no edge over you. That is a beautiful thing about bitcoin, it's egalitarian free market nature.
