I would be feeling very bullish if it werent for the bidside order book looking so weak.

The market almost dried up. No one sells and takes profit anymore - even after such a rise. That should be sign enough. Since when are you in bitcoin, inca?

A real bullmarket is bought right out of the ask. No matter what the bidside is.

I  am holding strong. I am also leveraged long (which is a bit silly but I couldn't resist)

The human aspect. What will happen (any blocksize really) if a powerful opponent fills the queue with spam transactions with high fee, like 0.01 BTC or even higher? A few million dollars could suffocate the functioning of bitcoin for months. My guess: As such situation is not advantageous for the miners despite the good fee money, they would find the spam transactions using heuristics, then fill blocks say half with spam transaction to take the good money, and half with normal transactions. The attack would be costly for the attacker, reduce the payment functionality to a degree, otherwise bitcoin would continue as always.

i was pondering this the other day.  the best way to handle it?  no limit.  let the miners chew through high fees like that.  is it even spam at that point?  who cares?  those would be tremendous profit to miners and strengthen and drive the hashrate even higher securing Bitcoin even tighter.  which ultimately is the last thing the spammer wants which would eventually cause them to conclude it wasn't worth it.  and then stop.

If bitcoin ceases to have utility due to network disruption then it will also rapidly lose it's exchange value. That is not in the interest of miners.

Dump is happening.

Nice! Sold my last coins at $290.

The moment you start to believe you are invincible is likely the moment before you are about to take a beating.

Have to take profits somewhere. Smiley

Healthy pullback

If we hold our ground here then I am tempted to take another leveraged bet. Made my last one at 220 which worked out nicely.
647  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEXT 48H ARE CRITICAL!!!!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 08:03:37 PM
No.
If we get pumped into 300$ on the weekend; we'll got dumped under 250$ on monday...

Exactly my thoughts, the weekend seems to always bring a price correction.

I was tempted to buy in last weekend, but am still holding out.  I'm not convinced that this will hold, becasue usually as soon as there is any sign of price drop coming in, large dumps occur.

Well the price has risen for 5 straight weeks.

I would agree this is the last line in the sand for the bears. If they hold 300 we may range trade for a bit longer, potentially until the halving. Otherwise this could be a very explosive and fun summer.

We just need friendly whale to redisplay his bids and we will just drift through 300.

He seems to not want to play though.  Grin

Comments on the bidside orderbook?
652  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 10, 2015, 02:57:11 PM
Let's wait some days and see if I'm right or not.
This is certainly not the first time when someone tries to ridicule my advice. Ever since December of 2013, I have started to loathe bitcoiners more and more for it. It's kind of heartless, but I will actually feel joy when the most fanatical bitcoin zealots will go broke. I really think that they are the culprits of their tragedy and they deserve what's coming to them.

And you wonder why people think you a bitter prick..
653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 10, 2015, 09:54:25 AM
next 24h critical

No. We will go back to stable 250-275$.
This spike was caused by LTC cash-out.

Just have a look at all BTC/LTC charts.
Has nothing to do with BTC demand bought by FIAT.

The cycle was very easy:
Accumulate LTC with FIAT or BTC.
Pump LTC like shit (Ponzi in China)
Trade LTC for BTC -> increase BTC price
Sell BTC for FIAT -> drop to levels before the LTC pump

Rinse and repeat. Love that unregulated market. So many people to lose money. Thanks.

Time will tell. The bitcoin 1w chart is looking extremely bullish. Just an uptrend is enough to keep momentum buying to get us over 300 and then once we breach 300 on finex / bearstamp / btc-e things could get really exciting real quick.
