643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum: 2nd gen cryptocurrency with contract programming, "dagger" hashing on: January 21, 2014, 04:48:03 AM
Since Ethereum needs a re-write, how long with the launch be delayed?  Can't be good for the Conference IPO announcement.

Nonsense, and I don't mean to be rude. But to say that something that's not yet deployed needs a rewrite simply doesn't make sense. Dagger is well understood and within the time it will take to get the main net going it will for sure receive many upgrades (some of them being organized as contests though the funding).

In short, fear not, Ethereum is coming and the early code on github demonstrates commitment not seen elsewhere.

think the guy who is talking about the rewrite is referencing

Tomorrow Doge will hit 10 cent!!!!

Ah okay Roll Eyes

No joke, big whales are involving, 10 cent tomorrow, we are all rich, much wow ^^

Mark Cuban put in a million $

link or it didn't happen

think the guy is talking about the Mark Cuban tweet that happened in November and resurfaced on reddit. Don't believe Cuban chose his crypto of choice yet.

http://www.dailydoge.org/2014/01/mark-cuban-potentially-interested-in-dogecoin/

and this is the reddit that resurfaced.

http://4x.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1v4t3b/mark_cuban_tweeted_that_he_wants_to_invest_in_a/

The guy just said "I don't want to invest in bitcoin. If virtual currency becomes acceptable I want to invest in the soon to be invented competitors." .
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 04:28:47 AM
DOGE blasted past its alltime high of .0000015 and is now .0000021

Usually whenever something goes above its alltime high, it is clear sailing for a while. Not timewise, but pricewise. This is because nobody is left who is holding at a loss. Nobody left who is eager to sell soon as they get back to breakeven after holding a loss for two weeks.

.000125 at bter! Getting within striking distance of alltime high for NXT. If we go above alltime high (what is it anyway?) then 50% above that is a distinct possibility.

James

was wondering for a while why DOGE was selling so high. Then read http://mashable.com/2014/01/20/dogecoins-amaica-bobsled-team/ ... if only NXT thought of that lol Tongue. DOGE seems to be in a middle of a pump, but the dumps have been mostly eaten up so far. middlecoin just had almost a 90-100BTC DOGE selloff dropping it to 170 then a few minutes later it bumped back over 200...don't know how far up its going, because I thought the middlecoin dump would have brought the sellers out.

NXT has been on a roll as of late, hopefully it keeps on going.  Grin and none of those middlecoin multi-pools can do a thing. Other than big stakeholders.

I dont understand the massive rocketing. Like.... You'd think there would be more info around other than "chinese".

maybe everyone is playing up the Jamaican Bobsled thing(I loved the movie when I was a kid Tongue) ? and possibly some pump going in there as well. But the dumps have been eaten up so far.

Huh Tongue

back over 200...lol.

Middlecoin just dumped a load. Looks like DOGE is stable again for now.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 21, 2014, 03:25:14 AM
just sent 0.06BTC to poloneix.com
will report here to keep people updated with my experience
at a glance it looks like poloneix is going to be a dgex killer

Bter is the DGEX killer. Wink

i have heard that bter has very restrictive withdrawal limits
100~100000 NXT per day.

yeah bter I believe changes the amount possible to withdrawal based on volume. I remember DOGE having the same problem early on as well.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 21, 2014, 02:43:50 AM
Was wondering why the sudden rise for DOGE...still have some remaining (not much) during the early days of DOGE after the pump-and-dump that took place early on.

then I googled and seen http://mashable.com/2014/01/20/dogecoins-amaica-bobsled-team/ lol Tongue
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 20, 2014, 01:13:26 PM
Can someone contact coinmarketcap to change their feed from obsolete dgex to bter please?

Gliss stated in the coinmarketcap thread that he's already done this.
I think it still shows dgex prices...

They've included the the BTER NXT/BTC trade pair. See here - http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/#jump-nxt-btc.

But the exchange with the highest volume determines the price involved in the market cap calculation. At the time of posting DGEX has a 24 hour trade volume of 274BTC while BTER has 171BTC. That's not much of a gap considering today is the first business day since the launch (I don't think that considers the NXT/CNY pair either).

I don't realize that the BTer had already have such a big exchange volume. It is going to leapfrog DGEX soon. Competition is good.

I think many people trust an exchange that exchanges a variety of Cryptos rather than an exchange that just exchanges one. I've moved over to bter because I haven't had a problem trading with them before and I like bter website more, even though they have less volume Grin

Never had a problem with DGEX though...but bter website is a lot more user friendly IMO.

Something tells me that all this :: clone business is NOT going to be very funny once eMunie and Ethereum IPOs start.

Both will end up being worthy competitors IMO.

With emunie at least, they are going to be having a process of Open Beta->IPO->Launch which I don't think has happned yet in cryptos and will allow people on the fence to experience the client and how it works. http://forum.emunie.com/index.php?/topic/1282-emunie-ipo-the-plan-moving-forward/

As someone that has been in Nxt early on and have been an eMunie beta member I wish both the best Smiley.

I am thinking of having 10 billion of NEM instead of 4 billion. Hey all NEM stakeholders, what do you think ?

10 BIOLLION sounds like a nice round number to me. Cheesy

word of advise: if you dont want this coin to be ruled by the give away thread spammers, weight the giveaways by activity * average_post_length. Then do a quick check of their post history to make sure they pass the turing test.

In addition to at least do something like requiring a registration to the forums before a certain day or having an account to have a certain amount of activity.

I post on page 1000 from dairy queen, go back to the hotel, get up at zero dark thirty to go to the airport and spend the day in threee different jets getting home, check this thread, and 55 pages later everything is total bat crap crazy.

Hell yeah on getting listed at last on a first tier exchange and a 100 % price rise.

But this latest "somebody got my NXT" has pegged my paranoia needle again.  As far as I am concerned we have yet to get to the bottom of a single incident here even tho we tarred and feathered EpicThomas.  Something is STILL going on and it is bad.

I will say this again and again until I get Dev concurrence.  WE NEED TO IMPLEMENT AN OPTION TO ISSUE AN ACCOUNT FREEZE CODE BLOCKING OUTGOING NXT TRANSFERS THAT GETS CARRIED ALONG IN THE BLOCKCHAIN AS A MESSAGE UNTIL RESCENDED BY THE ACCOUNT OWNER VIA A SECOND DIFFERENT PASSWORD.

More later I gotta unpack and get caught up at home after being gone two weeks.  GO NXT!!!

Consider NEX  -  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422052

Don't forget about ME.TOO https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422139.0 and NEM https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0 as well Smiley

Let's see how a "Free" crypto (initially) develops to one that has value(if any of these actually release that is...)  Smiley
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEM :: descendant of NXT - 4 billion coins on: January 19, 2014, 03:41:06 AM

Interested haha :p
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: descendant of NXT on: January 19, 2014, 02:17:46 AM
Hey frictionless, when is the genesis block? Shouldn't we go to the market as soon as possible ?

I reckon I can mine at least 100 bitcointalk.org accounts per day.

Over a month that's 3000 accounts - 3k units of NEX - I'M RICH!!

You know.... that is a very good idea!

So people can just post on alt-accounts? Smiley

Still interested though  Grin

Hey frictionless, when is the genesis block? Shouldn't we go to the market as soon as possible ?

Nxt doesn't have a genesis block,  only a initial distribution of coins.   So we got to wait until people express interest.

We don't want to cut short the distribution to abruptly.  That was really a bad move by the originators of NXT.

This is NXT genesis block... http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=1739068987193023818
