I suspect the main trend I've been looking at is now only of historical interest and we've departed from any meaningful reference to it. Personally I will use it as a measure of how bubble-like the market becomes if we ever see something similar develop again. Ie. 1.86% growth day-on-day HELD for around 9 weeks. Who knows, it may be months, years before we see it again but as long as Bitcoin is alive, be ready for it I reckon. it looks great. almost every day i bump into people that want to learn more about bitcoin. friends, customers, relatives... i tell them that bitcoin has three different fields they need to keep seperate: 1) mining 2) money transfer usability 3) speculation they almost all have only heard about speculation. bubble, crash, etc... i tell them, that regardless of it´s usefullness and potential as a disruptive technology there also must be a way of getting the coins distributed to the people. mining them, earning them or purchasing them. and since they can be purchased and should be convertible, there is a market of supply and demand. if you have that, then you have speculation automatically. it´s a biproduct of it´s design, but it was not made only for speculation. but that is what people hear and think. when i then start showing them clarkmoody candle wonderland (which is nice) they get confused. with your chart it looks more clear. so i will use it. good work.

Again, paranoia that I don't have enough coins is setting in me again while spending nights on clarkmoody and gox i experienced losing €. oh it felt bad. but, when for the first time i experienced losing the coins.... that was much worse. then i knew what i was out for.

just sell half your bitcoins everytime the price doubles. this way you never run out of bitcoins.
this meme shall get out to the masses. a self fulfilling prophecy at work. that´s the first thing one needs to know.

Warning! Bitcoin recently made mainstream news across the globe, with this news comes a record amount of capital getting ready to be allocated in the bitcoin space. But at the same time bitcoin has had a rough couple of weeks, DDOS, hacks, government seizures, the works!, this has temporally scared the newcomers and their massives amounts of capital. Once the news spreads of bitcoins epic triumphs over insurmountable odds, Mass panic buying will once again take the market by storm We are sitting on a ticking time bomb! The market may blow the fuck up at any moment. proceed to the nearest exchange and go crazyThis is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill!TIME IS NOW i am still grasping for air...... very good one! make it a t-shirt.

These guys are the founders from Paypal investing in BitPay. It's not like it's Paypal directly investing in BitPay.
The way I'm thinking is : They did the almost impossible before, maybe they'll do it again but this time with BitPay instead of PayPal.
I see what your saying. But I wonder if they are buying a piece of BitPay with the intention of an eventual takeover. Why else would they invest in a competitor? Paypal could just integrate Bitcoin right now. They don't need to buy anyone. But this has nothing to do with Paypal. http://www.foundersfund.com/Luke Nosek, Ken Howery, Peter Thiel don't even work at Paypal anymore. This is a fund to help tech startups. It's just throwing the Paypal reference because it adds some weight to the whole e-commerce heavyweight angle. i would put it a little different. peter thiel first made paypal big and then facebook. he is the one with weight in this game. if he goes into bitcoin, the financial world will take notice.

If US decides bitcoins is a threat they'll be worthless overnight.
How could this current action not cause the price to dip to double digits???
You, sir, are an idiot. Look at the vast majority of historical examples and you'll see that this is not the case. The price of drugs did not go DOWN after government intervention, they went way UP, despite sketchy OTC availability situations. The price of education did not go DOWN after government intervention, it went way UP. P2P torrent protocol is in INCREDIBLE demand and is wildly popular, despite government intervention. Alcohol did not become less popular during Prohibition, even though you risked arrest and had to maintain secrecy going to a speakeasy. The government only was able to destroy e-gold because it was centralized and had a single point of failure. Gox is nothing. Gox is a poorly performing exchange that many people are hooked on due to liquidity (a chicken/egg problem) and need a kick in the butt to go elsewhere. This is the kick in the butt. Gox is not a single point of failure. Gox dying would be great for bitcoin. It only would crash to double digits because of idiots like you who panic sell because you do not understand how markets respond to government intervention/regulation. Fortunately, for the time being at least, it seems most people are smarter than that. i don´t think the drugs/alcohol analogy is correct. drugs i can use to get high. getting high is as basic a need as eating, drinking or fucking. try to roll up some bitcoins. (on the other hand... bitcoin did bent me over occasionally )

april 2013:
bitcoin is skyrocketing, the community can hardly breath due to self confidence, price goes to the moon, hype is all around, nothing can stop us, tomorrow we own the world, but then...
due to "success" mtgox server fails, that´s all it takes:
= panic all around, panic sell, C R A S H
may 2013:
bitcoin is very volatile, a lot of people think it will be like in 2011 and go down, the community has no confidence, no hype, is bitcoin dead?, but then...
the us government starts seizing mtgox accounts = attack.
= panic all around, but NO crash
what am i missing here? logic?

How idiotic can you be to post this on a Bitcoin forum?
This has absolutely fuck all to do with bitcoin. This is just a pre-pay credit system for use exclusively on Amazon content.
It's like a 3 year old puts "bitcoin" next to "amazon coin" because they both share the word "coin". LOL.
It's relevant to bitcoin because Amazon is trying to capitalize on the success of bitcoin with this marketing trick. People out there who don't know anything about bitcoin are likely to think that Amazon coin is a competitor. this & how big is the bitcoin community compared to all amazon fans. if enough idiots think it´s something comparable their money/attention goes towards this marketing tool.
