661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: would you accept stolen bitcoins? on: January 27, 2014, 03:08:31 PM
No I wouldn't accept them.  I check the serial number of every dollar bill in my wallet against the national database of stolen money  (Library of Laundering).  The LOL also tracks terrorist funds digitally and I refuse to take that.  Unfortunately it means I send most of my paycheck back and I'm totally broke.
662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Long before i make a profit from the money I spent already? on: January 27, 2014, 03:02:39 PM
What did you buy and how much did you pay?  Unfortunately the answer will be you will lose money unless BTC goes way up in value, in which case you would have made far more buy just buying BTC.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90 BTC stolen! on: January 26, 2014, 11:18:40 PM
Screw off mate. Do you really think anyone has time for that shit? There are so many easier ways to do it this just annoys the hell out of me.

There should be a button to force people back to the newbie area.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90 BTC stolen! on: January 26, 2014, 11:00:04 PM
Just for your info, he used an offline wallet...

I was talking about the guy who lost money from btc-e.  But the OP also used an online wallet.  An offline one would be installed onto something with no internet access, so your keys can't get stolen.
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90 BTC stolen! on: January 26, 2014, 08:14:05 PM
Never trust an online wallet Sad

667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I store Bitcoin on a 16 MB SD card? on: January 26, 2014, 06:28:21 PM
I think electrum will be best for you.  Make sure you write down the secret phrase in case you lose your usb drive.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90 BTC stolen! on: January 26, 2014, 06:17:28 PM
Sorry but they're gone, that's the nature of bitcoin, it's irreversible.  Next time only store a small portion in your hot wallet, make an offline wallet on a usb stickor maybe a raspberry pi.

672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I use x1 slots for mining? on: January 22, 2014, 10:24:47 PM
Yes, I assume you're connecting a GPU to the slot
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I use x1 slots for mining? on: January 22, 2014, 09:05:13 PM
I have  a couple 7950's and i am wondering if I can use these in x1 slots, without any performance reduction, or any hardware problems.

Will it draw the same wattage? will i get the same Kh/s? will it even work?

The bandwidth requirements are very low, it's a processor intensive process, so x1 will work just fine.
674  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Zeno's paradox in mining. on: January 22, 2014, 05:55:37 PM
It's not a paradox.  Miner manufacturers have to set a price for the miner.  If a miner will make 1.0 BTC over its lifetime, it is silly to sell it for less.  In fact they want to sell it for as much as they think people will pay.  People aren't really good at math and so they can price these things at 1.5 BTC and they sell out.
675  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Want to start mining.. on: January 22, 2014, 05:36:41 PM
Yeah you should be able to get something like a Bitfury for ~ $100 and then you can get the full experience without wrecking your laptop.
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decreasing rewards on: January 22, 2014, 05:33:54 PM
LOL

NO MINERS HAVE EVER GOTTEN RICH BY MINING

FUCKING TROLL

Should be able to send people back the newbie only area.
677  Other / Archival / Re: STRANDED IN THE SNOW OUT OF GAS need 0.08 loan to get home. Please help on: January 22, 2014, 05:33:09 PM
There must be someone here in Chicago.  Give your home address and which window is most likely to be left open and they can send you the funds.

679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork The Blockchain And Block The Seized FBI Coins. on: January 22, 2014, 03:04:20 PM
As said earlier, it's not really a fork of the blockchain, it's a totally new blockchain with 1 block containing everything but the FBI's coins.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please help me install network drivers in BAMT! on: January 22, 2014, 05:36:33 AM
That's odd that it's not supported out of the box.  Check here:  http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers
