661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk and Shift on: April 08, 2018, 09:36:36 AM
LISK has a bigger development fund and a bigger team of staff. For long term survival i would bet on LISK in that they can carry on working even if the crypto market drops further this year without recovering. Shift will probably fall along with other forks and clones of top quality coins.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Give up DASH ? on: April 07, 2018, 10:39:06 AM
Dash already pumped so buying at the top is a big mistake. For a good privacy coin look at the ones with a low market cap and a good roadmap. Try deeponion which has a big community driving the coin forward but currently a low market cap. Alternatively, pick a big coin with big potential like NEO, it will certainly rise high
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is your altcoin down since January? on: April 07, 2018, 10:31:14 AM
Considering every coin has dropped i would say there is a 50% loss for everyone in crypto right now. However, for those with some spare cash lying around i would say you are very lucky. This is the perfect time to recover your losses by buying up more coins and enjoying the rewards later this year
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Check out this amazing gem of a project, and thank me later! on: April 07, 2018, 10:27:13 AM
Has anyone noticed that the links are to Medium accounts rather than actual news sites? Is there any proof from an official source that these links to big companies have actually been developed or is it just something that a paid blogger has written about?
665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will Quantum Computing affect Bitcoin? on: April 06, 2018, 09:40:38 PM
If quantum computing can crack bitcoin i don't think it will be used for that purpose. Imagine all the government security codes it could break, electronic bank vaults, bitcoin is nothing compared to what a real quantum computer could do. The cyber world will have bigger problems to worry about.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Are Reasons for 1% only in Cryptocurrency on: April 06, 2018, 09:37:09 PM
Even for those of us with IT skills it is not an easy concept to understand. However, when the ipod generation grows up and gets high paid jobs they will invest in bitcoin and understand the technology behind it. Millions of investors entering the market will certainly drive up demand
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One country in Asia to develop bitcoin transactions legally on: April 05, 2018, 04:42:42 PM
I would not be surprised if crypto exchanges start to move their offices to the Philippines to take advantage of their bitcoin friendly laws. Could be a nice place to settle down if anyone has a huge stash of coins and doesn't want lose half of them to the taxman
668  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump bans Venezuelan cryptocurrency in USA on: April 05, 2018, 04:34:07 PM
Trump is not afraid of making tough unpopular decisions, fortunately he has not banned bitcoin yet as that will probably start riots over there. Venezuela is struggling despite having huge oil reserves, it should be a wealthy country but has bad financial management. Perhaps the petro will help to make the people wealthier
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Millennials - Crypto Downturn on: April 04, 2018, 04:53:12 PM
It is sad for them to lose, but same for people in all countries. It is a tough time but Korea is pushing forward with crypto developments, and more easier ways to buy bitcoin. They need to be patient and wait for the return, it will be a tough few months but just read the charts and they will see and price rise will come soon
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it the beginning of the end of bitcoin ? on: April 04, 2018, 04:50:28 PM
It is not the beginning of the end, but the beginning of the next bull run Grin Traditionally the markets start to rise in April so don't worry and lose faith in crypto, newbies will bow out at the bottom, but good investors will buy now and sell at the height of the bull market
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Crypto Whales rational actors? on: April 04, 2018, 04:48:18 PM
It is hard to tell where the whales are but a cartel could crash the market if they got together and plotted between them. Not sure what the incentive would be as the whales would lose out themselves by cashing out now rather than at the top of a bull run.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin: I agree that Bitcoin is better than gold on: April 03, 2018, 06:40:41 PM
The problem with physical gold is that you limited in the number of ways you can trade. Go to a pawn shop or sell it on ebay. With bitcoin you can reach out to the global pool of investors and trade it for variations of coin. Much more interesting, and works better in this new digital age.
673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the most crucial year for bitcoin? on: April 03, 2018, 06:35:00 PM
2018 is the most crucial year because it is make or break time. Before no-one cared much for bitcoin, just some underground types and the geek crowd. Now however it is in the media and even celebrities are endorsing it. If it crashes then it will never be trusted, but success now means mass adoption.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: about 6000 outlets in Korea receive Cryptocurrencies on: April 03, 2018, 06:31:39 PM
This is the type of news we have been waiting for during these last few horrible bearish months. People thought Korea was going to ban crypto currency so the mass sell off began, now we see they are moving towards mass adoption. Time for the bull market to start!
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum classic (ETC) on: April 02, 2018, 07:54:56 AM
It's a dead platform that no serious project will use, perhaps a scammy pump and dump ICO but no-one else. ETC was abandoned by the real ethereum community a long time ago and should really be laid to rest. Switch to something else like NEO which has a bright future and has a large active development team
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive News about Bitcoin on: April 01, 2018, 09:04:40 AM
It's actually very good for newegg and i'm sure a lot more will enter at this stage because people will have to pay more bitcoin to get the goods of that value. When the price rises then newegg will have accumulated a lot at that lower price. Hopefully other retailers will follow and bitcoin will be a legitimate form of payment everywhere.
677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitter truth behind the market crash on: April 01, 2018, 08:53:19 AM
You forgot to mention the other reason for ethereum crashing. It is true that the ICO market has been diluted and it is becoming more difficult to separate the good ones from the scammers, but also they are cashing out their eth tokens that people invested. This is putting downwards pressure on all invested coins btc and mostly eth.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news and bad news on: April 01, 2018, 08:38:25 AM
This new lightning network will save bitcoin as it is already well established across the globe but is hampered by the slow transactions and high fees. Once that is overcome there will be no further need for litecoin or bitcoincash as bitcoin itself will have all the things that the other two are marketing as advantages.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Gray" mining. What do you think of it? on: March 31, 2018, 09:51:46 AM
I think if you take your computer to a store to fix or especially a private repair guy then you need to be careful that a secret crypto miner hasn't been installed on it. Also, the prevalence of miner viruses will be more widespread as it becomes more profitable and easier to get away with.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My 7,5k portfolio for 2018 on: March 31, 2018, 09:34:33 AM
Good to see some SOMN in there, not much mentioned on this forum recently but they're going to be the first to launch their supercomputer product and will happen this year. I'm expecting big things for SOMN so it's a bargain right now. Definitely better than golem who are way behind at the moment
