You have a keylogger in your computer. Search for it and remove.
Another great example why to have decent AV and FW.
Windows can be just as safe as any other OS. People are just careless or clueless.

I am new to PoS, and I still don't fully understand how staking works, can someone explain to me?

I have some very basic question:
Minting start after funds has been in the wallet for more than 20 days?
What is exactly going on when minting?
What/who is verifying the transactions, is that the minting clients?
How is a block found?

Most of questions are answered here:
http://mintcoin.com/

Quote
What is exactly going on when minting?
Your computer CPU mines your interest coins. Interest is based on strict rules and are hardcoded in to your wallet. They appear as incoming transfer and need 50 conformations to be validated. Just like mined coins.

Quote
What/who is verifying the transactions, is that the minting clients?
All verifying is done by Mintcoin global network. Basically by every client who runs mintcoin wallet. Amount of conformations needed is hardcoded in to wallets.

Quote
How is a block found?
Simply by searching it. Whichever wallet founds the block will report it to network to get verified. PoS block size will be determined based on how much interest coins are quoted up by the network.
Block will be divided among all applicants for this block.
And of course. All transaction coins are added to every block.
So as a result, blocks final sizes will be occasionaly very large.

I don't get why BC has some value ?
Any explanation or only a speculative bubble ?

Well, let me try to explain. BC is highly centralized just like all PoS coins. Value stayed low for few weeks. When it started rising, all newcomers wanted to jump on the moving train. This accelerated the rise even more.
Since majority of big holders are still holding, the price stays or even moves up some more.
Fundamentally BC is still a extremely young. Value will stabilize when coin spreads more widely, but this will not happen any time soon. So expect huge volatility to continue for now.

welcome to mint my friend remember to keep buying and keep holding, tell your friends and family we need more people and more advertising.
also dont forget bout the mintcoin rich list see how hi you can get, make a game out of it Smiley

website -
http://mint.blockx.info/richlist/

Interesting list... only 500 entities control 82.63% of all MINT's.
Compare it to other pos coins and you will see it is pretty good
I agree with that statement.

I would just like to point out that I am on the first 10 pages of Black, Zeit, and Mint threads. Im starting to feel like an alt coin genius lol. POW coins are going to all die now, if you are a big bagholder of say WDC or Litecoin you might want to GTFO soon. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Not going to argue with you. Just stating one fact: PoS coins major flaw is being highly centralized.
And another. Coin price is important for the ones who try to make quick money from it. To all others price is completely irrelevant.

Doesn't distribution determine how highly centralized a PoS coin would be?

Exactly. Coins which mining stage lasts for only few weeks are hold by very tight group. If price suddenly spikes up, then it makes the coin extremely hard to expand in popularity.
Im glad that MINT price came down again. This helps for interested people to buy them some cheap coins.
Even tho "being cheap" is extremely foggy indicator here. We dont know what would be the actual fair price for MINT. We can only quess.
My quess is that MINT under 20 satoshi is a buy.

I have another noob question, how often do you need to do the minting, in order to get your interest.
Do you need to have the wallet open and staking all the time, or can you e.g. open it once a week?

You only have to open it every now and again. You can look and see when your oldest coins were deposited into your wallet, add 20 days to that date, and then open your wallet for a few days until it mints.

Get wallet online once per month. Pretty much ideal.

I was just wondering; how come has Blackcoin got so much success lately and MINT is still low in price? Does anybody have an opinion about that?

Blackcoin is having exactly the same period which Mintcoin had earlier. In long term view, price of one coin is absolutely irrelevant factor. Price stability is the most important one.
Why do you think all merchants are extremely cautious towards bitcoin? Because its volatility.
Good payment instrument must be stable. Until bitcoin stays volatile, it will not get widely used.

Can someone tell me how often mintcoin is minting in wallet? After about 20 days or everyday? Can someone post here screenshot of his wallet with frequency of minting?

Entire network average is probably around 1 month. Can be as low as 20 days.
In the end it does not matter if it takes 20 or 30 days. You will still average out of 20% during first year.  Wink

Sudden price fluctuations are always nteresting. Lets see how far this coin goes before its wheels fall off.

I assume BC wheels "falling off" would make you a happy troll right? Ain't gonna happen champ, the fundamentals, devs, community and progress is too strong in this one. Sell your MINT and buy BC instead of being a grumpy bagholder, you'll be a happier man I guarantee it.

Troll? Im just telling the facts about all the coins in the past. Doesnt make me a troll.
It may very well happen that BC will rise until infinity! Lets see how optimistic you are.  Cheesy

Just mine DOGE and buy MINT or if you want to multipool and get paid in MINT, use Hashcows.  Smiley

I'm number 45, but my Wallet should be at about 35. Don't know why the blockchain is still recording me with less coins??

Because you have several addresses. Most of us do. Open your Coin control window and in tree mode you see all your addresses together with amounts.
If you want to put yourself higher in list, you can simply send all your coins to one adress.

depends which version did you use earlier?

I had 1.5 then jumped to 1.8. Should I update to 1.7 then back to 1.8?

Since 1.5 was before hard fork. Im afraid that all coins you minted after block nr 220 000 are in wrong fork and lost forever.

What about the coinage that was used to mint coins on the wrong fork, is it lost too? Seems like maybe since the minting never happened on the correct chain, no coinage was lost on the correct chain? If that is the case, the only thing one would have missed out on by minting on the wrong chain is a little bit of compounded interest.

He could enable coin control features and see how many confirms the oldest coins have. If any decent junk of coins are close to 60 000 conformations, then he can expect minting new interest coins soon.  Cheesy
