Right now, the forum is reporting error 500 (Internal Server Error) like hell.
There's also some SSL protocol errors Sad

I can, or maybe can't, confirm, that there may, or may not, be things happening with this.

Shh! Wink

theymos - or maybe you could host the API on bitcointalk.org?
664  Economy / Service Discussion / Possible to withdraw from Pyramining? on: April 10, 2013, 06:14:43 AM

Manual intervention is required, by the looks of it.  Wink

OK manage PMs it is then! Good thing I asked; I assumed managing PMs was the least important.

I'll start work on the auth stuff tonight and update here when I have news.
Thanks! (Well, PM's are important for anybody looking to make a bot, since public topic reply isn't really needed.)
669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Common n00b Question(s) on: April 09, 2013, 06:43:44 AM
If you are, as you admit, a person who knows next to nothing about mining, or a person who wants an easy mining experience, you can try BitMinter - the easiest miner (and pool) ever. Smiley (And if you make something, mind donating a bit?  Grin)
670  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial Bitcoin Talk Forums API on: April 09, 2013, 06:08:49 AM
Woohoo, my first tip! Cheesy

Login support was low priority but I can move it to the top since I'd rather code things people actually want/need.

What do you actually want to be able to do? Off the top of my head there are several major functions

- Create/edit topic
- Create/edit post
- Edit profile/forums settings
- Manage PMs

If you let me know which is the most important I can do that first. But I can start coding the basic login steps (auth to server and store session cookie) now.

Login, manage PMs.

(Let's work on a tip bot!)

(you know, if it doesn't steal from you)
Yes, indeed. Cheesy
672  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Talk Mobile Version on: April 08, 2013, 10:55:12 AM
Thanks (I'll just use the API)

I've sent 0.01 BTC as described in the other thread Wink
673  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial Bitcoin Talk Forums API on: April 08, 2013, 10:54:02 AM
Thanks so much for making this! Might be able to create something nice with this API, now all I need is login support etc (which you'll hopefully add soon)

0.01 BTC sent (https://blockchain.info/tx/9291f180b4d54ffb453ffda8d57ff47bc597ba2634bef38520039789c550c95e). Plus have a kudos from a fellow coder Wink
674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diablo Miner - accept 0 : reject : 0 hw error : 0 from last 2 hours, is this ok? on: April 08, 2013, 10:43:10 AM
what does below mean then if it didnt connect to bitcoind?

mhash: 1.4/1.0 | accept: 0 | reject: 0 | hw error: 0

I am trying to do solo mining.

Just restarted Diablo Miner and see this
[4/8/13 3:35:42 AM] Started
[4/8/13 3:35:42 AM] Connecting to: http://localhost:8332/
[4/8/13 3:35:43 AM] Using Apple OpenCL 1.2 (Dec  4 2012 18:26:30)
[4/8/13 3:35:45 AM] Added GeForce GT 330M (#1) (6 CU, local work size of 256)
mhash: 1.5/1.4 | accept: 0 | reject: 0 | hw error: 0
mhash: 1.4/1.4 | accept: 0 | reject: 0 | hw error: 0
mhash: 1.4/1.4 | accept: 0 | reject: 0 | hw error: 0
mhash: 1.3/1.4 | accept: 0 | reject: 0 | hw error: 0

netstat -a | grep 8332
tcp4       0      0  localhost.8332         localhost.64949        ESTABLISHED
tcp4       0      0  localhost.64949        localhost.8332         ESTABLISHED
tcp4       0      0  localhost.8332         *.*                    LISTEN
tcp6       0      0  localhost.8332         *.*                    LISTEN

which means miner is connected to bitcoin server and the accept is 0 since last 2 minutes Smiley Yes, correct!

what does accept mean here and how long does it take usually on a consumer grade laptop (macbook pro)

Accept = accepted shares (work)
675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diablo Miner - accept 0 : reject : 0 hw error : 0 from last 2 hours, is this ok? on: April 08, 2013, 07:29:39 AM
You are basically NOT mining at the moment, and have wasted 2 hours.  Tongue

The problem:
It can't connect to bitcoind running on your local computer. If this isn't what you want, you need to configure Diablo Miner to mine in a pool, or start bitcoind.
676  Other / Meta / Re: How hard would it be to have a ticker built in the forum somewhere? on: April 08, 2013, 07:15:59 AM
Well, I'm looking at creating a Discourse forum to replace this one... *mmm* 3000 BTC... *drools*
677  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, and programmers of the Bitcoin Forum: An API? Pleeease? on: April 08, 2013, 07:11:37 AM
Could someone, someone at all, try and integrate an API into this forum? It would make things so much easier, and allow for development of lots of different forum projects.

Why don't you create a SMF mod pitch it to theymos and if he looks over the code and agrees he may MAY use it on the forum. Otherwise start creating your own forum, and again pitch it to theymos for the bounty.

Been thinking of doing just that... Smiley

679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2011 Wallet.dat file (How do I recover coins?) on: April 08, 2013, 06:26:34 AM
Wole, that worked, I love you. Give me your BTC address sir. Cheesy

Also, I see something funny that happened.
Apparently I took this wallet offline before some of the BTC in it was confirmed.
So one transaction took place in May 2011, the next transaction took place a few minutes ago from the same address lol
I assure you, the transaction took place in May 2011, but because I guess it didn't confirm back then, it just now processed? Wtf lol

I would have said the same thing, if I wasn't too slow. Sad
Anyway, there are other methods to export a wallet.dat - like Pywallet
If you aren't going to pay him, the address is down there Smiley
680  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Node JS Pool Server on: April 08, 2013, 05:07:01 AM
Don't use node-bitcoin!  Shocked
Use kapitalize. It's WAAAAY easier!

(I talk with experience - yes, I code in Node.js and have Bitcoin experience Smiley)
