I hardly know shit about the trust system, except that I see that it is a link that I can click on in my profile.

And I can understand if you did a trade (or planning a trade)

The trust system is not just for trades.  I can distrust you for any reason.  If people trust me, then they trust who I trust.

Theymos picks the people whom he believes most match his morals to be on DT1.  Those members pick members they trust to go to on DT2.

DT2 then decides who they trust or not based on those morals.

6742  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:52:35 AM
Lauda might have a few questionable ratings, but most of the negs Lauda gives are honestly deserved. Among the others which frequently seems to find problems with Lauda using nothing but speculation and word play, I have to say that Lauda has been pretty much cool headed.

Agreed.   I just wonder now who will pick up the slack?  I'm busy recently (might not be forever) and many times I log in, read an obvious scam, think to myself "do I have time to tag this and back it up against my opponents?" but then I see Lauda already tagged them.  :/
6743  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:29:47 AM
I think Vod has a picture of QS on his nightstand that he looks at before he goes to bed every night.

Do you think talking to yourself in the third person fools anyone here, or are you just thinking for internet archive sake?
6744  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:25:20 AM
So you're letting some idiot with literally no activity but 2 posts in  like a year control the trust list and you don't care? WTF, vod, whose side are you on now? QS's?

Dude, how can I control who is on DT1?  I'm on DT2!

BTW - TC and I have also exchanged many PMs over the last year.  He's not totally inactive - maybe he just doesn't post as much.  :/
6745  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:22:11 AM
What about Tomatocage's trust list? Don't you think it's odd that both Myself and Zepher pissed off both QS and Ognasty just yesterday, and now suddenly TC's trustlist has a copy/paste of Og's?.... Coincidence?

Could be fraud, could be coincidence or could just be a lazy moment when they agreed with what they saw.   Every now and then I just copy/paste someone's trust rating because I feel the same way but am too busy or tired to rewrite the exact same sentiment.  I've seen many members do this - both on DT and not.
6746  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:19:34 AM
Yeah, hopefully Tomatocage, who is clearly owned by a certain butthurt scammer called quickscammer or Ognasty (Or both)....  Roll Eyes

I don't know about that.

Tomatocage and I have always got along - we (used to when he was active) PM each other back and forth about potential scammers and such.

Quickseller/Panthers52 and I have always butted heads - just a basic difference of morality.

6747  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 15, 2018, 12:15:07 AM
DT has become less relevant now that the merit system has been introduced.

You referring to the red paint associated to shit posters/spammers/bad English posts?

Exactly.  Such tags are no longer needed.

However, DT is still needed in areas of outright fraud - such as loan scammers.

6751  Other / Meta / Re: Control shitposters/spammers in this forum with this simple trick. on: February 14, 2018, 02:50:51 AM
I have a suggestion to our dearest admin or moderators about the increasing problem of shitposters/spammers here in this forum. How about banning accounts that currently shitposts atleast ten per account on international or english boards? As a concerned member of the community I think this idea might lessen shitposters and spammers in the said boards in this Bitcoin community since these kind of people will not stop spreading trash and contribute nothing but shits just to be paid in signature campaigns. I was once a shitposter too but then I realize I need improvements and I think I did it already and hopefully these shitposters/spammers will be doing the same thing too. What I did right now is finding ways on how I can contribute for the good of this community and I think this is how it begins.

That would be moving backwards, as we have already tried mods tagging/banning accounts that break the rules.

The reason TRUST and MERITS were created/invented is to decentralize the forum rule enforcement by moderators, and move it into the hands of regular users.
6752  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod, Im waiting you to remove my Negative Trust. on: February 14, 2018, 02:41:37 AM
I tagged 61 people as shitposters.  Not a SINGLE ONE came back to complain.

Do you mean overall or more recently? I remember a couple years back when I was getting my start around here you tagged me for the same thing. Newbie, asking for a loan without collateral; I remember you being the first person to help me adjust my attitude and get on the right path around here.

I have to support you giving people another chance, Vod has a firm and fair stance on this one that has proved beneficial to the forum and even the people being tagged by him.

I give a maximum of one merit to suck ups.    Lips sealed

Shitposting is different than asking for a loan without collateral.

It was just recently (before merit system) that I tagged the 61 users.  And as I mentioned, not a single one complained - they knew they were shitposting.

I'm glad I don't need to tag them anymore.

The merit is for letting the newbies know that I do give second chances as long as I don't view your offence as intentional.   Smiley   Thank you for the post.

6755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Program for my ICO on: February 13, 2018, 05:10:39 PM
I think it's laudable that you are doing this without wanting to be spammy. Best wishes.

Appreciate it. There are a lot of scam ICO's out there, and I really want to make sure we don't get lumped in to that category because of a lack of tact. We have some great tech and I want to make sure we get our fair chance to show the world what it can do.

You are spamming here in Project Development  Sad   Read the sticky that says NO ICOS.

You can move the thread by the link at lower left.

Hollywood movies are being presented as reality by the scientific community folks.

Holy shit dude - come back when you learn what science FICTION is!

6757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: URGENT!! How to centralize ETH from different wallets with low fee!! on: February 12, 2018, 10:39:01 PM
I am posting again because of not getting answer in general discussion. Experts member please help me out.
Quote
My Brother just got  10 My Ether Wallets (MEW) and have some tokens and ETH in it. Now he wanted to centralize those 10 wallets into one. The current GAS fee is currently appx $2.14 , he just got 5 different tokens or coins with some ETH. Then the total costing for centralization of one account is $5*$2.14 = $10.7  , Then to centralize 10 wallet into one will be $10.7 *10 = $107.

Now i have following question --

1. Is there any other way to centralize ether and all the tokens into one wallet ?
2.  Is there any way to minimize the transaction fee (GAS)
3. What is internal transaction , i saw in internal transaction the fee is low than normal. Is it possible to implement here.

Please give me a way out. Please help me.  Huh Huh Huh

Probably best to ask in a ETH forum, wouldn't you think?
6758  Economy / Reputation / Re: Former Staff member Lauda has a pill addiction - *not disputed by lauda* on: February 12, 2018, 10:20:03 PM
I believe this says "I don't take pills" and is an explicit denial...

Yep, but who the hell cares what Lauda does on her free time?  (I have decided to call Lauda a she from now on instead of using neutral pronouns... easier.)

Is her addiction interfering with anyone?  Is she doing crazy things while she is on pills?

As far as I can tell she is doing well in the bitcoin world.

Quickseller, on the other hand, has a terrible reputation for doing things and he is sober! (we assume)

Live and let live.

6759  Other / New forum software / Re: What is the current status of epochtalk ? on: February 12, 2018, 03:59:23 AM
I read his posts quite often (theymos) and hadn't seen that, OgNasty might be right and he was referring to the current forum. He's likely the only one making changes to the current code. I'll take a look at his posts later on today and see if I can find it as I certainly wasn't aware of it.

This is what I was referring to.  He could be referring to the current forum...

If I had more manpower, then I would prioritize maintaining our own DDoS protection, but with me as the only sysadmin and current-software developer, it's become unsustainable.
6760  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this allowed? on: February 11, 2018, 07:51:57 PM
I can't say they are related but if this is how merit will be used. It is killing the system

It's not killing the system.  People are misusing merits, yes.  But that means they won't be a source, and their abuse will end.

Let the system shake out the scammers and cheaters that are already high ranked and have sMerit -they won't for long.
