depends which version did you use earlier?
I had 1.5 then jumped to 1.8. Should I update to 1.7 then back to 1.8? Tried this didnt work. I guess I will leave things where they are. I am bummed because I missed out of some serious stakes. Maybe one day QT wallets will update automatically and traveling businessmen like me wont have these kinds of issues. Auto update is not going to happen because it would open the door to hackers. One thing what is possible would be automatic email notice if update is available. This should be rather easy feature for mintcoin.com homepage to add.

I had 1.5 then jumped to 1.8. Should I update to 1.7 then back to 1.8? Since 1.5 was before hard fork. Im afraid that all coins you minted after block nr 220 000 are in wrong fork and lost forever.

Hi! Anyone who is having sync jumpback. Please do the following: 1. Go to your roaming folder and delete everything but the wallet.dat. 2. Download version 1.8. Only this version has the newest checkpoints! 3. Add official mintcoin.conf file to roaming/mintcoin folder 4. Open a beer and let the wallet sync. -------------------------- Heres 1.8 update for Mac-OSx wallet. It is not mandatory, but would be nice if you update to it. 1.8 OSx wallet includes: - newest checkpoints - QR support (added because Mintcoin has android wallet incoming. QR code support becomes important) Download link until official link is updated: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t49t8iwunw4n74s/Mintcoin1.8-MacOSx.dmg

Indeed. This coin shows signs of stability now. Dev team is probably the strongest out there. Im owning some wdc myself. I like the blue wallet overall visual style of the coin. Name is also great. All the mess in the beginning will be soon forgotten and this coin is coing to grow strong.

There is nothing to dezip on mac image file. Just double click to mount it and drag your wallet app to applications folder. For files: 1.) Click the Finder icon on the dock 2.) press Command+SHIFT+"G" to "Go to the folder" 3.) Input "~/Library" and hit RETURN. From there you can navigate to Application Support -> Mintcoin.

I need help. I just opened my wallet today for minting and noticed that it's not syncing anymore. Then I saw the mandatory update to 1.7 wallet (i'm on 1.5 now) in OP and need your help. I'm a tech newb and I'd appreciate if anyone can take me step by step process on how to update wallet. Safest method will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
yes, some people have the same problem with you, and one of many methods is that you delete all other files except wallet.bat. that is to say, you should backup your wallet.bat, and then delete all other files. Try this method, and you may have a wonderful result. Best wishes to you. +1 I advice you guys to resync with blockchain if you experience any issues with 1.7. I did it as well. Dont worry about if it loads long time on boot up. It works nicely after it loads.

I downloaded your version but see no diff in sending coins...do I miss something or need to config something somewhere?
You need to enable it. In wallet choose settings-->options-->display-->mark "display coin control features" Click OK. You will see CCF on Send tab now. If you want to send only the newest coins do the following: 1. Open "inputs" 2. Choose list mode 3. Click on conformations twice to sort by lowest amount of conformations first. 4. Select enough adresses to fulfill your required amount. 5. Click OK 6. Use sending tab as usual. Ill give it a go and make short video about this feature soon. ---- Also i will compile mac and windows wallet with openssl 1.01g as soon as openssl.org comes up. It looks like this site is being overloaded a lot after bitcoin announcement. Its not really any threat to mintcoin, but better safe than sorry.

Why would integrating a wallet feature create a hard fork? Wallet Control is not part of the algorithm of the coin. HBN was not hard forked for the wallet feature, Tranz added wallet control to newer HBN wallets. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Kergekoin? Correct. Bitcoin 0.9 also has coin control now. From merge requests i can not see anything which would require hard forking. Nice! So are you going to do it? I think the community and dev would embrace. I just finished it and made pull request. It works just beautifully with my Windows wallet, but likely some testing is needed for linux and mac. If you want to use it before officially confirmed: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ibwj1p88q340tg9/Mintcoin%20with%20CC.zipDefault disclaimer: Im not responsible if you damage your wallet.dat with it. Please be sure you have a backup before overwriting!

Well done guys! Also i would recomend some hot clue on top of that soldered spots. To make sure that resistor doesnt move and break the soldered spots and possibly damage the lines on PCB.

what was the amount of your stake and how much did you receive when it was minting?
I can not receive the stake for about ten days. to tell the true, I only receive the stake for three -four days. and then the stake is not well. You will only receive "Minted" coins after holding coins for at least 20 days. Once you've minted coins, the coins that generated the minting will be put into the "Staked" portion of your wallet until there are 50 confirmations. Once this has happened, and your wallet has been credited the minted coins, they, as well as the "Staked" coins will not mint again for at least 20 more days. If you have other coins that have yet to reach the 20 day time frame, it may take a bit longer than 20 days, depending on the amount of coins that have not yet minted. yes, I know that I will only receive "minted" coins after holing coins for at least 20 days. As I say, although I have received the stake for 3-4 days, my coins will not appear the "staked" potion, it apptears "Balance". I don't know the reason. I am so sad. The coins will only show in the "Staked" until they have had 50 confirmations, then they are moved back into the "Balance". If you say they do show in the "Balance" then you have gotten them. You most likely just missed seeing them posted in "Stake" as it doesn't take that long for 50 confirmations to happen. yes, when I can receive the stake for the first three days, I missed to see them postted in "stake", yes you are right. But now I can not receive the stake for about ten days, and my wallet do not surely show up the transactions, so I am sure that it can not receive the stake now.. thanks for you answer. After you got your first interest coins your coin age was reset. That means coins will have to age again for minimum 20 days before you get your next interest coins. You can look from history, when was your last mined coins transaction in. now add +20 days and you will know the time when you can expect your next interest payout. Heres picture for conformation that everything is working perfectly fine with MINT. (pardon my typos)

I wished MINT was higher, bummed out everyday now thinking this was going to skyrocket.
Stability is good. MINT is not "get rich quicky" coin. Im sure this coin will do just fine on long term.
