from: Larry Page Dear Google users—
... We had not heard of a program called PRISM until yesterday.
Hmmm. How is it possible that I have heard of the PRISM software before, but Google has not? I find this very hard to believe. I might have to change my voting to: Make dropbox secure from any entity that might twist your little pencil arm until you squeal the names of your trusting users.

Hi new peers. Welcome.

wow, who pissed in his shoe?
Did they do it while it was on his head? Probably lol. maybe a bounty for a jpg of that?

I think some of them have been projects by coding enthusiasts. Because the source is open, anyone can tinker with it and produce their own coin. Even knowing that it will never take off.

trouble is brewing. 'nuff said.
- The NSA has full control of Bitcoin through holes in SHA-256 and DSA that the mass of the public has yet to find. The whole blockchain might find itself worthless within the decade.
Awesome, we have someone on the inside! So, which division of the NSA do you work for? It must be a leadership position to know what you know! Tell us how you know. ... "History" channel?

Hallelujah, another newbie expert has arrived to explain everything. This is what they do when the price is falling. If it were going up, I assume he would be asking for a loan.

Why should I watch what I say? Instead let's all publicly say we don't like to be spied on.

The smartest people here don't waste their time with sophomoric conspiracy theories or endless guessing of tomorrows price. They are generally busy making things happen, as opposed to watching things happen then struggling to understand.

Are you in the basement getting high again? And stop bending up all my paper clips!

Since we would all die in a nuclear war it is not really a concern. Cockroaches do not need bitcoin.

Ah, the chicago school of economics... Fascist scumbags, brainwashed idiots, and psychopathic criminals.
I will contact them again. I spoke to them in 2011 and was invited to come back. Let's charm them, not hate on them. If they can be brainwashed once, then I can do it to them also. http://www.chicagobooth.edu/alumni/events/showEvent?eventId=2868Look at this.

This is why I worry about stupidly over-regulating bitcoin in the U.S. They simply can't kill bitcoin at this point. But they could drive bitcoin businesses out of the U.S. and help other nations reap the lion's share of the bitcoin economy. The regulators just can't seem to keep their hands off things they don't understand. They are sure that if they cut the goose open they can have all the golden eggs at once.

"Eager to pay taxes" is an overly provocative statement. I am not eager, but i do recognize my obligation to pay taxes. If you think using BTC means that you no longer have to pay taxes, then you may be rudely informed by a judge just how wrong you are. You will be sent to jail just like any other tax cheat. And no, not bitjail.

As a newb, I still don't know the reason. Can you enlighten me? Or at least post a link to a page that explains the reasoning behind this rule?
I can. I remember when these forums were under attack. Each day many new accounts were created just to post FUD. Posts like "BITCOIN HAS BEEN DECLARED A PONZI BY THE FBI!!!" or other crap. Some people claimed that they were being offered money for any bitcoin hating article, blog, or post they created. These posts eventually became more common than productive posts. 5 posts and 4 hours is the mildest option to combat this problem. I like the idea of being able to read for free, buy paying for posts. It weeds out the kids and idiots. (Idiots often have no extra money, as they have lost it via idiocy).

Thoughts?
This gives me warm fuzzies; a University of Chicago professor speculating about how a wildly successful Bitcoin might affect the International Monetary Fund! I don't really care what is said, just the fact that Bitcoin is being talked about in the elite Ivory Towers is a very good thing. Amen. You have to fly high to be on radar.

I think it looks really interesting. BTW nice job with the artwork.
Thanks. I will pass that on to the artist. If I had done the drawings they would be stick vegetables.

I buy stuff with bitcoins and do not "cash out". Remember that if you are in the USA and cash out, you will owe 20% of any gains you made on the value of your bitcoin.

Wasn't Tradehill based in Argentina? Wish they had stuck around.
Chile I reckon. yup chile Tradehill is back in business. Their prime account is an excellent option for dealing with $10k+ transactions. I think Jered is in San Fransisco.

...You really think that if you spam working people with moronic emails they will start to like stupid bitcoins? ...
Yes. In fact it is the best way to get the attention of businesses. Most of the businesses that now take bitcoin came to it via their paying customers.
